HURRY: Business Class to Australia from $597 Roundtrip

Star Alliance airline and United partner ANA is selling business class between Vancouver and Sydney via Tokyo from $597 roundtrip. That’s a fare worth buying separate tickets to and from Vancouver for!

This is a $218 base fare in each direction. Travel appears to be permitted through mid-December.

Key rules for fare ZKX27CAF:

  • Fly Monday through Thursday in each direction
  • 21 day advance purchase required
  • 7 night minimum stay, 6 month maximum stay
  • Tickets must be issued by August 31 — but there’s no way this fare lasts that long
  • CA$500 fee for refund, CA$450 change fee

Just in case the airline decides they want to renege on such a deep discount offer, a case of seller’s remorse, I’d wait awhile after buying tickets before making additional non-refundable travel plans around the fare.

  1. Gary, how are you searching for it? Tried using ANA & UA booking sites, lowest is around $5k.

  2. It came up for me. First attempt was canceled from underneath me in November, but was able to get it for October. Just waiting for it to ticket.

  3. Thanks, Gary! We scooped up two tickets a few minutes ago. Not a lot of availability left but now we’ll wait to see whether it’s an actual fare.

Outbound we fly YVR-HND and have to find our own way to NRT for the onward to flight to SYD with lots of time. Looking forward to it.

“It came up for me. First attempt was canceled from underneath me in November, but was able to get it for October. Just waiting for it to ticket.”

Same for me. My first attempt did not go through. Second attempt in late October through early November went through. Not ticketed yet.

  5. I got one the week of Thanksgiving by checking Momondo. The itinerary is YVR-HND-SYD r/t.

  6. We booked on the ANA site. Our credit card processed it a little over an hour ago but no ticketing as of yet.

This is appearing now on the ANA site when we check:

“Your reservation has been changed. Unfortunately passenger information for this reservation cannot be processed at this time… For passengers who reserved at a travel agency, please contact the travel agency.”

  7. Slightly more expensive flights are showing on the Flight Deal with tons of availability. Go for it!

  8. We had not been ticketed when the plug was pulled. When I called Monday morning, the agent, after a lot of checking, told me they could not honor the ticket as there were instructions on the website to call and I hadn’t called.

I checked via the booking number on the ANA website this morning and, sure enough, it had been canceled.

Mrs. Fredd got an email from them this afternoon stating that our waitlisted seat had been confirmed. I checked the relevant FT thread and found that a few others in the same situation had been contacted by ANA within the last few hours to say they would honor the tickets.

I called, and that’s what they’re doing! We now have our etickets.

The corporate change of heart must have occurred within the last 12 hours or so. Color us very positively impressed with ANA. We’re on our way to OZ in October. 🙂

  9. Mine had not ticketed yet this morning so I had started to give up, but actually had ANA call me this afternoon to get my credit card again (Enough time had passed) to actually ticket it, and let me know that there can be no changes and retain the fare.
