I covered hotel discount site Club1 Hotels when they first launched. They were offering free memberships for a year and many readers took advantage of it.

The website was a bit clunky, but there were plenty of deals. Because it’s a membership site they’re able to sell hotels for less than hotel websites and less than Expedia, Booking.com, and others.
(And you can’t price match using hotel best rate guarantees, either.)

I don’t write much about them otherwise because there’s a membership fee, you have to join just to search the site for deals. Here’s some example savings though from the last time I covered them:

The best deals are on the priciest hotels. Sometimes they beat other sites by a little, other times by a lot. My view is that they’re one place you should look for savings, especially on more expensive properties.

Now they are offering free membership and 10% off any hotel booking when you use promo code VFTW10. Just create your account here. (To be clear they provided this offer to my readers but I am not earning a commission from your joining or for your bookings.)

The 10% off piece is valid through April 30 for stays through March 31, 2019.

Since joining for a year with this offer is free – something they usually charge for – I don’t see a downside to signing up just in case you have a use for their deals in the coming year. And search the site this month because any good deals are 10% better if booked in April.

  1. I joined this site when all of the bloggers were pushing it back in October 2016. They never deactivated my membership when that free year was over, so I’m not sure it’s fair to value memberships with any monetary value since they don’t seem to expire.

As for the site itself, I have found some pretty good deals and some duds. I was able to get a suite in 2 instances for the price that the other OTAs were charging for standard rooms. Other times, their site actually charged more that other sites for even basic rooms. Just a tip, their search sometimes has the same hotel listed multiple times and one price is always higher than the other – Vegas is a good example of this.

  2. Website is crap. Search page doesn’t load correctly half the time. Like Mike L, I signed up back in 2016 and haven’t used them once. Never seems to be a decent deal.

  3. Do the hotels booked through this platform earn points? Or do they have the limitations that you have when booking through Expedia, etc..
