New IHG Rewards Club Promotion for First Quarter: Free Nights Faster

The most lucrative hotel promotion for years was Hyatt’s “Faster Free Nights.” You earned a free night every two stays, no restrictions. That has since been retired. However IHG Rewards Club is introducing a new promotion for stays between January 15 and April 15 called “Free Nights Faster.”

Registration (required by March 15) isn’t yet open however the promotion page URL suggests that internally this is called “Multibrand 2019” so I imagine earning will be based on staying at different brands within the IHG Rewards Club portfolio.

And since the offer is to earn “at least 40,000 bonus points” I imagine that the actual bonus and requirements will be targeted, as most IHG promotions have been in recent years.

Of course IHG has been running gamified promotions for awhile with different tasks besides just staying at different brands for some time. So this may just be the next iteration of “Accelerate.”

  1. The site has gone live. My offer was terrible – double points after 2 stays up to 40,000 points. My wife’s offers were ok – included 19,200 points for three brands. Other relatives’ offers were pretty poor. I’m not impressed…

  2. My offer is “Double Your Stay” – after the second stay, double points between 15 Jan and 30 Apr up to max 40,000. Also 2,000 points for 1 stay in February.
    Underwhelmed.

  3. Do award point/free nights qualify for the promo? I got the 3 brand, 19,200 promo – but pretty sure terms and conds day through April 30

  4. Gary, the promotion period runs through April 30, not April 15 as mentioned in the first graf.
From the T&C: “You must register for the promotion by March 15, 2019. By clicking “one click registration” you are registering for the promotion and agreeing to receive IHG Rewards Club marketing communications and the terms and conditions of the Campaign and Privacy Statement. Members will be awarded bonus points listed for each individual Promotional offer (“Offer”) after completing the requirements of each individual Offer. Each Offer must be completed between January 15, 2019 and April 30, 2019 (both dates inclusive) (“Registration”).

  5. @ Deb b: To the best of my knowledge, Free/Award nights have never counted toward fulfilling offers in these IHG quarterly promotions. It needs to be a paid stay.

  6. My offer was four brands for 22,400, 6K for 2 Kimptons, 8,400 for 2 Crownes, 8,800 for 4 weekends, 12K for two stays of four nights, and 1,500 for credit card, for a total of 59,100.

  7. I am leaving on a business trip tomorrow for 4 nights and would appreciate some insight from more seasoned IHG members who have participated in past promotions. I haven’t traveled in over a year so I am brushing up on my points game strategy. If I book a room for 4 nights, will that one booking qualify towards the completion of the last 3 offers or only the 2nd?

6,600: when you book 2 Bonus Points Package stay(s)

19,200: stay at 3 brands and get 19,200 bonus points.

12,000: when you book 2 stay(s) of 4 or more consecutive nights.

    2,800: stay at 2 IHG® hotel(s) and earn 2,800 bonus points.

40,600: Complete 4 of the 4 offers and earn (an additional) 40,600 bonus points.

  8. I clicked on an IHG “Rewards Nights Faster” box to just see what it is. Then I get an email saying “Thank you for registering”! Question: I did not “obligate” myself to anything and my IHG card will not be charged a “Fee”, right??

All I wanted was info and to know what the program was!
