Easy IHG Rewards Club Status Match – Including Top Tier Elite

IHG Rewards Club is offering a status challenge. With a screenshot of your current elite status with another chain, or photo of your current elite membership card, IHG Rewards Club will give you comparable status for 90 days — and an expedited way to keep the status through 2020.

  • This is for US and UK residents only.
  • Register by June 30. The status match request will be processed within 14 days.
  • And existing top tier IHG Spire Elites cannot use the match to keep that status.

They will only offer 2500 top tier Spire Elite status matches through this offer, but there’s no cap for lower status levels. Spire Elites achieving their status through this offer will not receive a choice benefit.

IHG will match existing status with Accor, Best Western, Caesars, Choice, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, NH Hotels, Radisson, and Wyndham.

Here are the key benefits of their status levels:

Benefit Gold Elite Platinum Elite Spire Elite
Extended Check-Out
Points Don’t Expire 5
Priority Check-In
Welcome Amenity/Minibar (Kimpton)
Bonus Earnings on Top of Base Points 10% 50% 100%
Elite Rollover Nights
Room Upgrades 3
Guaranteed Availability 4
Choice Benefit Upon Receiving Status**
Hertz Five Star Status

There’s no opportunity here to fast track to Kimpton’s invitation-only Inner Circle status.

Even IHG’s top tier Spire Elite level doesn’t guarantee much of anything, including late check out or breakfast, but treatment is often experienced better in practice than what’s promised and having status is better than not having status when staying at Holiday Inn and related brands.

  1. I have Spire Status and Intercontinental Ambassador… it is pretty useless compared to Hilton Diamond. The benefits and upgrades are lacking.
