4 Best Ever Offers Of 100,000 Points Or More

Credit card bonuses have seemed to get a lot larger in the past few months, as competition heated up across bank issuers to attract new cardmembers. 100,000 points was a huge line to cross. Sure, Hilton cards have had those offers frequently but a Hilton point isn’t the same thing as a United mile.

Now is the time to stock up on lots of miles. Hoard them for big trips when you’re ready to take them. Airlines seem to be expecting a lot of empty seats for awhile (United’s Scott Kirby said they were planning for travel not to fully recover until next year.) That means there’s a good chance for very good award availability, lots of opportunities to use your miles. And airlines will be using the loyalty programs both to fill seats and get passengers flying again.

Those with the big mileage balances will win this game.

  • UnitedSM Business Card is an all new product with limited-time offer: 100,000 bonus miles after qualifying purchases. That’s 100,000 bonus miles after $10,000 in purchases in the first three months from account opening.

You get first checked bag free, priority boarding, and two United Club passes both at account opening and again on each cardmember anniversary.

This $99 annual fee card will give you a $100 annual United travel credit after seven United flight purchases of $100 or more. In addition they encourage you to have both a business and personal United card because this card offers 5,000 bonus miles each anniversary when you have this new United Business Card and a personal United card.

  • Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card has a limited time offer that expires April 1, 2020 to earn up to 100,000 bonus miles: Earn 80,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 in purchases on your new card in your first 3 months. Plus, earn an additional 20,000 bonus miles after your first anniversary of cardmembership. (Offer expired)

Spending on this card can help earn Delta elite status. It’s called Status Boost(TM) and you earn 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) after you spend $25,000 in purchases on your Card in a calendar year, up to two times per year getting you closer to Medallion Status. (MQMs are used to determine Medallion Status and are different than miles you earn toward flights.)

Ongoing earn is 3X Miles on Delta purchases and purchases made directly with hotels; 2X Miles at restaurants and at U.S. supermarkets; 1X Mile on all other eligible purchases.

Benefits include your first checked bag free and Main Cabin 1 Priority Boarding on Delta flights and a fee credit for Global Entry or TSA Pre✓®. Cardmembers can pay for Delta Sky Club® access on a per visit basis at $39 per person for you and up to two guests when traveling on a Delta flight, and receive a 20% savings in the form of a statement credit after you use your Card on eligible Delta in-flight purchases of food, beverages, and audio headsets.

  • British Airways Visa Signature® Credit Card lets you earn 100,000 Avios: 50,000 Avios after $3,000 spent within the first three months and another 50,000 Avios after $20,000 spent in total purchases in the first year. It also gives you a promo code or 10% off British Airways tickets when you pay with the card.

And spending $30,000 on the card in a calendar year gets you a companion award ticket for just the taxes and fees.

Crucially the card has brand new improved earning for spend and offers a statement credit for taxes and fees when redeeming British Airways Avios for BA transatlantic flights originating in the U.S. You can get up to $600 a year rebated (3 credits a year up to $200 each).

  • IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card has a best-ever offer for you to earn 140,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. (Offer expired)

You’ll receive a reward night after each account anniversary year at eligible IHG hotels worldwide. One of the best features is that cardholders receive a reward night each time they redeem points for any stay of 4 or more nights. So that’s better than the ‘5th night free’ from Hilton, and amounts to a 25% discount on four night award stays.

Cardmembers receive platinum status for as long as they remain a cardmember. There’s a Global Entry or TSA Precheck fee credit (up to $100 every 4 years) as well.
