American Airlines Invites ConciergeKey Members to Use Flagship Dining

ConciergeKey is American’s revenue-based top level, given to very high revenue customers and those who influence significant business for the airline.

They got priority for upgrades and other waitlists and have myriad other benefits including use of the airline’s business class Flagship lounges when flying domestically and are again being given tokens to visit American’s exclusive Flagship First Dining, too.

American’s Outstanding Flagship First Dining Lounges

American’s Flagship First Dining is the best lounge offering in the United States. I used to argue that distinction went to the Qantas first class lounge at LAX, but all three American spaces open so far are more peaceful and JFK especially but also the others have better views too. New York JFK and Miami have re-opened, next up is Dallas – Fort Worth, though Los Angeles is expected to wait until sometime next year.

The major shortcoming is that few people have access. That’s nice for those who have access but it’s 3-cabin American Airlines first class passengers only (although at JFK Cathay Pacific’s first class passengers have access) and very few American Airlines flights have three class First.

ConciergeKey Members Are Being Invited to Try First Dining

I’ve wondered how on earth it makes sense for American to keep this open in Miami with just a couple of flights where passengers have access (and those flights may not be full of paying passengers, and even if they are those passengers may not arrive at the airport early enough for a meal). I figure American either needed to end the offering or expand it. They have since sold it as part of Five Star service.

Three years ago American first offered ConciergeKey members two visits to experience it. They re-upped ConciergeKey members in 2019 with two Flagship Dining visits for use over the coming year. Meanwhile United Global Services members do not receive access to their airline’s Polaris business class lounges.

This was suspended during the pandemic while Flagship Dining was closed. However with the re-open these chits are again being provided.

These aren’t transferable so you won’t find them on eBay, they’re for ConciergeKey members and guest to use only. Here’s how much you need to spend on American Airlines to receive a ConciegeKey invitation.

  1. Even lax-Bos 3 clsss F and lax/Mia 3 class F haven’t been announced as eligible even though they are starting: resuming 3 class service.

  2. That would be even lovelier if it came with a well done T-bone steak grilled well done in Hibachi & Teriyaki sauce w/ sour cream on the side + A1 steak sauce. 🙂

  3. @Gary has spoken at length about the quality of these AA dining rooms. I can only echo what he says while looking forward to the opening of the DFW location.
It is my opinion, based on my visits to the LAX dining room — always quiet and peaceful, BTW, with attentive but unobtrusive service — that the quality of the food offered is *at least* equal to that offered in Cathay’s Pier and Wing clubs in HKG, and to BA’s Concorde Room at LHR. Actually, I think it’s better.
Score one for AA for offering a great customer experience!
Oh, and the fact that Krug has been the bubbly on offer is only another mark up….
We all love to moan but sometimes, folk need to be told they’re doing a great job. And in the case of the First Class dining rooms, AA is.

  4. Imagine how much business airlines would get an increased revenue, if they were to serve dinner such as grilled butter lobster. Southwest, American airlines, united airlines, US air, and other airline carriers would see a significant boost in ticket sales if they were to consider lobster on flights. Who agrees with this?
