The Capital One® Savor® Cash Rewards Credit Card is the bank’s entry into the dining and entertainment space, meant to appeal to new affluent consumers with lifestyle and experiential goals. The card offers 4% back on dining and entertainment, 2% at grocery stores, and 1% everywhere else.
In January all Capital One cardholders got a new dining benefit with online reservations platform Resy. American Express has since acquired Resy so I’m not sure how long this benefit will last into the future.
However they’ve continued to aggressively add benefits for customers, both for the Capital One® Savor® Cash Rewards Credit Card specifically like 8% back at the Vivid Seats online ticket marketplace.
Other improvements like Resy has been for all customers generally including their Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card customers.
Venture now offers miles transfers to airline frequent flyer programs.
Here’s another great example of adding something for all card customers without taking anything away. Capital One has launched a new exclusive partnership with the James Beard Foundation that gives all cardholders special access to events and experiences. A spokesperson shares,
[W]e’re bringing cardholders even more dining and entertainment experiences by providing them with exclusive access to pre-sales and unique experiences at New York City Wine & Food Festival, iHeartRadio Music Festival, and the legendary James Beard Foundation.
Through this first-of-its-kind partnership with the James Beard Foundation, Capital One will become the Foundation’s exclusive and official partner in the banking and credit card categories, allowing us to bring Capital One cardholders exclusive access to their signature programs including the iconic James Beard House, Taste America, JBF Greens: Foodies Under Forty, and the prestigious James Beard Awards.
The partnership will launch with Capital One’s presenting sponsorship of the James Beard Foundation’s 2019-2020 Taste America program kicking off July 24, 2019 in New York City, with an exclusive pre-sale for Capital One cardholders beginning this Friday, June 7 at 9am Eastern on TasteAmerica.squadup.com
The first four James Beard Foundation events with Capital One pre-sale access are:
- New York: Wednesday, July 24 Taste America Kick-Off at Tribeca 360
- Miami: Wednesday, July 31 Pop-Up Dinner at Le Sirenuse Miami with chefs Tony Mantuano and Soraya Kilgore
- Phoenix: September 19 Raising the Bar at Young’s Market Company and September 20 Gala Dinner at the Royal Palms Resort with chefs Tiffany Derry and Danielle Leoni
Pre-sales for the rest of the events — in Louisville, Portland, Minneapolis, Chicago, Seattle, Houston, Philadelphia, Denver, and Nashville — will become available later in summer.
There will also be a Capital One Access Pass for Taste America “in select markets” for behind-the-scenes tours and special menu items.
