Enter Here to Win a Seat on Star MegaDO 4!

BoardingArea is giving away two seats on the upcoming Star MegaDO 4. And the winners will even have their hotel accommodations paid for plus a little spending money as well.

It’s the ultimate frequent flyer adventure. Join a couple hundred of your newest frequent flyer enthusiast friends, meeting with airline executives, getting behind the scenes tours, bringing home amazing souvenirs and memories, and earning bonus elite qualifying miles in the MileagePlus program along the way.

Details of the program were released at the launch party. The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, November 13 in San Francisco. Wednesday flies San Francisco to Houston on the charter, a newly refurbished 767-400. Thursday is Houston to Chicago. And there’ll be plenty of United senior managers involved, other Star Alliance partners in San Francisco, and a whole bunch of major surprises along the way.

Here are official hotel details. Hyatt is a sponsor, and there’s a Hyatt Gold Passport promotion as part of the MegaDO. And there’s an optional Cowboy Day at the end of the MegaDO in Chicago.

For more information on the event, here is Milepoint’s forum for Star MegaDO 4.

January’s oneworld MegaDO was featured on the front page of the business section of USA Today and also in an Associated Press story that hit about 70 papers. Top media are ticketed for this event as well.

So here’s how you can enter..

How it Works: One person will be chosen at random to win an entry from this post. Each participating blog will have one winner. (Other BoardingArea blogs will also be giving away an entry this week.) The two BoardingArea winners will be drawn from the individual entrants chosen on each blog.

What You Need to Do: Answer the question, “Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?” You may only enter once here at View from the Wing. Enter by 11:59pm Mountain time on October 7.

The Prize: A reserved aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen on the upcoming StarMegaDo 2012, hotel accommodations, and $250 for personal expenses. There will be a total of two total winners chosen at BoardingArea.

Additional details on the contest can be found here. You must be 18 to enter and will be responsible for your own positioning flights (to San Francisco for the start of the MegaDO and back home from Chicago).

So to enter, Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?

And to be clear, this question is just based on ‘what’s new at United’, the airline we’re working with on the charter.

Good luck, and giddy up!

  1. I’m excited because it has some cool lighting effects inside and is supposed to be much quieter and more comfortable than the current cabins

  2. I’m excited about the 787, but not necessarily the United one. Being based outside the US these days means I will probably fly the 787 on another carrier before I get a chance on United. Either way, I’m happy to see this beauty in the skies 🙂

  3. Yes and No. Yes as there is more 787s out there. No because itll be a while before I get to fly one

  4. Cant wait to try the electronic dimming windows. I like looking out at night especially when headed near the north pole. I’m booked on 4 segments on 11/4-5

  5. Yes….it’s supposed to be an improvement. And these days any improvement in air travel is most welcome.

  6. Flying can be a terrifying experience. The Dreamliner certainly puts me at ease to dream away while on “wings”.

  7. Yes because it will be order of magnitude better than those old run down over-the-hill 747’s with broken entertainment systems flying between LAX and NRT. Will enable me to go to NRT in style directly from DEN versus LAX/SFO. Already booked on DEN to NRT in April 2013 (B class with 30K miles each way & no co-pay upgrade to BizFirst … and … for a B promotional fare of $989)

  8. Definitely – as it is brand new airliner for the airline – and I’d love to fly on it.

  9. Yes, because it is quieter in the cabin and is more fuel efficient! Thanks for the contest.

  10. yes, saw a demo of the inside at a travel conference and it was quite nice – loved the lighting

  11. I’m excited for United’s new 787 because it will lower greenhouse gas emissions for United’s fleet and that is a win for everyone in the world.

  12. I am super excited to fly United’s new 787. With humidty higher and greater pressurization along with the larger windows, this is gonna make travel even better than ever!
