The five star Grand Josun resort in Jeju, South Korea is apologizing for a ‘mistake’ that allowed honeymooners to be seen honeymoooning in their sauna.
The newly married man blogged,
I went on my honeymoon to Jeju Island and stayed at a suite room at a newly opened five-star hotel but my honeymoon turned out to be the worst memory of my life… On my last day I went for a walk but as I looked at the windows of the sauna I found out that I was able to see inside the sauna from outside. I could see the thermometer inside the sauna through the windows. We could see the inside of the showers and bathrooms from outside, from the hotel entrance, walk path, car park and from even hotel room balconies.
My wife and I were shocked to find this out. The thought that we might have used bathrooms and showers in front of many people gives me chills and we’re getting therapy treatment.
The sauna’s windows are coated to prevent seeing in during the day, but that doesn’t prevent people inside from being in full view at night – so blinds are supposed to come down when it’s dark. But they didn’t – and guests didn’t know this needed to happen.

He and his bride complained to the hotel so vigorously that the hotel called police on the guests after exposing them to the the broader on-property community.
According to property management,
We’re deeply sorry for causing any inconveniences to our customers in using some facilities at the women’s sauna at the Grand Josun Jeju Hill suite for missing mirror coating for some windows and [problems in] operating the blinds
The sauna’s operation has been suspended and we’re closely checking deficiencies and taking immediate action to correct them.
Police are reviewing closed caption television footage to see if there’s any material they can sell to Cinemax to see whether anyone can be caught peeping or taking video from outside.
Things could have been much worse of course. Being exposed in all one’s honeymoon nakedry is one thing. A United pilot, seen through a one-way window that only looked in from the TSA checkpoint below at the Westin Denver Airport, wound up with police barging into his room with guns drawn.

I wish that the airport hotel at DEN had the same apologetic attitude about the way people can see into guest rooms. Instead, there they arrested a pilot because of the way others could see him.
The hotel screwed up here, but if being seen naked causes you to need to seek therapy, you have much deeper issues. Sounds like they are just trying to make it sound worse than it is to bump up the settlement.
