Hyatt: Stay 5 Nights, Get A Free Day Use Room

This is a rather unusual offer that combines some of pandemic-era innovation with a traditional stay x, get y free promotion.

Hyatt’s ‘Work from Hyatt’ offer of day use rooms has been a Covid-19 strategy similar to what some other chains have employed, to repurpose guest rooms as a place for people to work from home, while getting out of the house – not everyone with an office job has a home set up for focused work, especially while kids have been doing Zoom School in the house.

Hyatt has an Extended Stay Offering of 5 or more night stays (‘for extended work adventures’ another pitch to combine leisure travel as an add-on to work travel) available at 120 properties and they’re promoting the offer with a free Office for the Day after completing an extended stay package reservation between May 1 and June 30. The complimentary office booking (day use room) has to be used by September 12, 2021 which is the current end date of that program.

As always, you’ll want to compare the pricing of any package to other offers because it may not be the cheapest way to book, but when it is and you’ve got a long stay it’s interesting to get a free day room as a throw-in to use later at the same or different participating property.

While I’m planning a 4 night stay just after the promotion period, I have a very low likelihood of a 5 night Hyatt stay in time. Still I very much appreciate the creativity here.

Key terms:

For every Work from Hyatt extended stay reservation of five (5) nights or more completed at a participating Hyatt hotel or resort between May 1, 2021 and June 30, 2021 (“Promotion Period”) members will receive one (1) Office for the Day Promotional Award. Consecutive nights at the same hotel count as one stay regardless of whether guest checks out or not. Office for the Day Promotional Award must be used by September 12, 2021. Use subject to availability. No credit or refund for unused portion.

Office for the Day Promotional Award must be redeemed in connection with a reservation with a checkout date before September 12, 2021. Award is valid for one (1) Office for the Day use at a participating Hyatt hotel or resort. Not valid at Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara, Miraval, or Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties, M life Rewards destinations, or Lindblad expeditions. Office for the Day award applies only to available standard rooms as defined by each hotel or resort. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 800.544.9288 or a Hyatt Global Contact Center. Award cannot be redeemed for packages. Office for the Day Award may be applied only to the guest room and does not apply toward food, beverage, incidental expenses, service charges, or hotel specific charges.

You must provide your World of Hyatt membership number at the time of check-in for each stay. Please allow two to three weeks after your qualifying stay for Office for the Day Promotional Award to be posted to your World of Hyatt account. Promotion may not be valid with other offers, promotions or discounts and is non-transferable. Hyatt reserves the right to alter or withdraw this promotion with a suitable substitute promotion of equal value (if legally required) at any time due to actual circumstances.

  1. So stay five nights and you get an office for one day? Doesn’t seem very generous or useful for most people.

  2. This actually patches an odd spot in my travel patterns…I’m looking to do a five-day booking under this sometime in the next few months (it might just be a vacation, but I’m not going to complain…), and the “day use” rooms pair nicely with a preference for driving at night (e.g. on my way home from a recent trip, I drove until 0700, slept at a hotel during the day…and I likely would have made it home the next night if it wasn’t for my car’s battery getting killed by the hotel valet leaving the headlights on).
