Net $100 Signing Up For CLEAR Expedited Security

The American Express Platinum card now comes with a $179 annual credit for CLEAR. That’s enough to cover the basic membership plus a spouse at no net cost provided you’re a member of either Delta SkyMiles or United MileagePlus (to get their discounted pricing).

Well, if you haven’t done it yet there’s now an even better offer to stack. Sign up for this United trial offer for CLEAR.

  • Two months free
  • $100 in United credit

Now through September 9, 2021, the first 10,000 MileagePlus members who sign up for CLEAR will earn $100 in United® TravelBank cash, in addition to two free months of CLEAR. You’ll also unlock your special membership rate after the trial. That means you’ll save time and money on your late-summer getaway – but only if you sign up soon.

After the two months you’ll be charged. If you’re paying with an American Express Platinum card, that charge is eligible for rebate via statement credit. This makes CLEAR better than free, since you net $100 to spend on United for doing it.

If you don’t have an Amex Platinum or don’t want to get one, there’s also an Amex Offer valid through October 30 that some may have on an existing card to use in its place.

I saw this offer on another website, opened the CLEAR offer link, but no longer know which site it was on first for acknowledgement purposes.

Comments

  1. That all sounds fine however…in my experience after renewing CLEAR this year my spouse is billed separately so the AMEX credit doesn’t cover both. Again just my data point on this and on a renewal. It might work awesome on new signups.

  2. @daninMCI – Does your comment apply to amex plat or gold card? my understanding is that the amex platinum card credit is for up to $179 in charges, so it wouldn’t matter if it was posted as two separate charges

  3. The kind of topic that is useful for travelers and definitely not part and parcel of The Jerry Springer Show.

  4. I tried to sign up for CLEAR but could not take required pictures( driver’s license ,etc.) on my older (galaxy 7) smartphone that we satisfactory to CLEAR – pretty frustrating

  5. wow, what a deal. My wife and I both have amex business platinum cards and I was already planning on doing this.

    thank you!!
