Marriott just launched a new promotion, which was reported to me by a reader and available in the promotions tab of my account, offering double elite night credits plus 1000 bonus points on each eligible paid night.
Registration is available through April 9, and the earning period is February 7 – April 23, 2023.
The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card (See rates and fees) now comes with Platinum status in the Bonvoy program, plus 25 elite night credits.
The Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card (See rates and fees) separately comes with 15 elite night credits, and is stackable with elite nights from a personal card.
In addition stay 5 nights with this promotion, earn 10 elite night credits, and you’ve got 50 elite nights – that’s enough for a choice benefit, and you can pick 5 elite nights. Now you’re at 55 elite nights. You’re now easily within shooting distance of Titanium status for the year.
This promotion won’t do much to help earn Ambassador status, where $23,000 in minimum spend (rather than the 100 elite nights) tends to be the binding constraint.
In any case it’s always a good idea to register for promotions when you first see them. It takes just a few seconds. You may not even expect to have any Marriott stays during the promotion period, but if one creeps up on you, you’ll never remember to go back and sign up later.
I’d add that Marriott must see the dropoff in elites to be significant if they’re going to double elite nights this early in the year.

Nope, nothing in the app, link leads to error page. Seems to be targeted?
Great … another double nights promo, which means the lounges will be as crowded as ever and platinums and higher will basically never get an upgrade because half the hotel will be at least a platinum. I seriously don’t understand raising ambassador spending to $23,000 but not adding a tangible benefit better than titanium.
That aside, you have to sign into the Marriott website, go to the menu and click promotions.
Got this promo and double points on weekends. Timeframes for both promos overlap too. Been a long time since I received a targeted promo from Marriott
I received error message as well. Targeted?
Same, error message, must be targeted. I haven’t gotten a targeted promo in ages from Marriott. It’s funny, now that I’ve reached Lifetime Platinum, I feel like I never use it – and they seem to have no motivation anymore to try to entice me back.
Link didn’t work, but I did find the promo when logging into my Marriott account separately and going to the promotions tab.
Appeared in the app Was able to register without even logging in. I’m a lifetime titanium.
They ran the double elite night promo at this same time last year as well.
Targeted. Wouldn’t let me sign up.
Targeted for sure. I didnt get the email and when i clicked the link above, the page wouldn’t sign me up.
So i called them up asking an agent if they are able to manually register me? She took the promo details then put me on hold for a few minutes before coming back saying she cant find it and asked if I knew the promo code. I told her ET23 (got it from the URL of the link above) and within seconds she found it. She put me on hold once again and came back saying she manually got me in.
So if you couldn’t sign up, just call them up asking to be enrolled into ET23.
Ha. I just stayed 8 nights in various Marriott properties and now a promo starts after I’m home for a while.
Double nights tells me that business travel projections for late winter and spring aren’t where they should be.
@FNT Delta Diamond – Agreed; the fact that MR is running a promo at all tells me that they must see a softening somewhere in the forward-looking numbers to date.
Who cares about Marriott promos nowadays when they sell hotels I used to stay at 100,000 points per night?
targeted, can’t sign up for promotion. Lifetime elite, rarely receive promotions anymore. No longer loyal to Marriott, so not a big deal.
Not intended to be targeted. Look under promotions. Marriott says it is open to all.
I earn my Marriott points and status easily in US and redeem in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America where status is harder to achieve. Better value.
North America also generally doesn’t have executive lounges with complimentary drinks and food and breakfasts are SO MUCH BETTER outside USA. Stayed in Madrid. WOW breakfasts were superb
Looks like every Tom, Dick and Harry will once again be Platinum or Titanium in 2023. Ugh.
It’s funny how people complain about more folks becoming platinum and so unhappy about it. Sort of like how the wealthy can’t stand middle class using points to stay at Ritz, st regis. Or what is completely wrong with the notion “well i have elite status so now I don’t want anyone else to”. Then people wonder why in life people are upset with folks trying to get civil rights and then turn around and basically say well I got what I want so I don’t think anyone else should because they didn’t work as hard as I did. Work smarter not harder. And if you think an average Joe can easily become platinum or titanium by using double nights in 3 winter months with their middle class income and pto after paying their xmas bills in an inflationary year you’re nuts.
I signed in to Marriott, saw and clicked the promotion and was rejected.
I’m hoping it was just because it’s too soon and as soon as they finish rolling it out I can register.
We’ll see.
Do you still get double night credits if you’re staying on points/certificates?
Still shilling for Marriott in spite of their outrageous, profit pumping fees I see
I wonder if the idea behind a Q1 double night promotion is to get ppl on the train. You get close, and lured into getting status and pushing stays towards end of the year
I’m Titanium Elite and they don’t even thank me for being a member at che k in nowadays?
Never a free upgrade……. hotel customer service is getting worse every stay
We are living the end of times. Let’s worry about earning points for our salvation, to bring at least one soul to heaven with us, where we will have not one, but many mansions to stay forever. Invitation is open, ready to join.?
Just make sure you register with your heart, and it’s free for everyone, no status asked.
Hey everyone – if you’re getting an error message trying to register in “one click”, it’s MOST LIKELY because your earning preference on Bonvoy is Miles and this is for Points earners only (which of course you can always switch to). T&C with other details (and so to also answer someone above, only qualifying paid stays count towards this promotion):
Registration of your Marriott Bonvoy® account is required. Marriott Bonvoy members who register for this promotion by April 9, 2023, will earn 1,000 bonus points per eligible paid night, plus one bonus Elite Night Credit per eligible paid night, during the 75-night promotion earning period. The promotion earning period is for eligible paid nights completed between February 7, 2023, and April 23, 2023, at participating Marriott Bonvoy properties. Only eligible paid stays completed after registration and during the promotion earning period will qualify toward the promotion. Award redemption stay nights including Cash + Points Awards, Free Night Awards, or a points redemption are not eligible for the promotion. Rates available through most third-party online retailers and select travel agency rates do not qualify for this promotion (“Non-Qualifying Rate”). Stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott Executive Apartments®, and owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club®, Marriott Grand Residence Club®, Sheraton Vacation Club®, Westin Vacation Club®, The Ritz-Carlton Club®, St. Regis Residence Club® and Luxury Collection Residence Club, are not eligible for bonus points or bonus Elite Night Credits for this promotion. Only one room at one property per night is counted toward a member’s nights for the promotion. The 1,000 bonus points per eligible paid night and one bonus Elite Night Credit per eligible paid night will be awarded to the member’s account within 7 business days after checkout and will post with the stay. Elite Night Credits will count only toward the status year in which they are posted. A member who elects to earn miles is not eligible for this promotion.
