I finally had a chance to try them. They were good, not great, but I like having them as an option. And it’s a much better choice than what’s available on my hub-to-hub lunch flight next week. They’re also tastier than the pre-pandemic American Airlines burger that was offered in domestic first class and better than United’s burger.
American Airlines is rolling out a new afternoon tea service in all cabins on flights from London and Paris to the United States. This is a test and it’s not yet clear when it will end, but looks promising.

American Airlines flight 203 from Amsterdam to Philadelphia took off after loading up on catering for the flight – only the frozen pasta wasn’t going to stay frozen, because it was stored in a device marked as inoperative and that it should be removed from service. That’s where they stored the pasta.
Delta Air Lines plans to offer Shake Shack cheeseburgers as a pre-order meal option in domestic first class. This will begin out of Boston on December 1, and expand to other markets “throughout 2025.”
It sounds like they’re planning to address food and beverage deficiencies, though, in a really serious way. According to aviation watchdog JonNYC who has been sharing details on Twitter and on Bluesky, Delta is launching “pretty ambitious upgrades to several aspects of on board food and drink” along with servingware and service flow.
