News and notes from around the interweb:
- An easy prepaid reloadable card you can buy online with a credit card (if you have an address in an eligible state). Then use it to pay a Citibank credit card. Use it to buy money orders. Or with Amazon payments, Kiva, or Evolve money.
- Award tickets on EVA Airways had been unbookable by Aeroplan (which is an American Express Membership Rewards transfer partner). Fortunately, that issue has been resolved and flights can again be booked. Without fuel surcharges. So get those tickets on their Hello Kitty planes now!
- $25 off $100 or more at Staples using Visa checkout. (HT: Jim L.)
- Southwest gate agent makes man delete a tweet as a condition of flying. She ‘felt threated’ by his statement (which didn’t give her last name) saying that customer service was rude when he wasn’t permitted to bring his kids onboard with him using his A-List status.

Falsifying family status in an application to a major financial institution? Um, I’ll pass.
The tweet actually did name her (Kimberly S) and which gate she worked, which may or may not change your views on the situation, but you should probably correct that in your summary, Gary.
Thanks for the heads up on the TD Go card. I hadn’t looked into Visa Buxx options too much as I had heard the good ones had been discontinued… but this isn’t bad!
@Chris what i meant to suggest was that she wasn’t really identifiable from the tweet, i have clarified to say didn’t give her last name
Just another reason not to fly southwest.
Gary, why would you ever load with TD Buxx and cash out via Amazon or Kiva? What am I missing?
I’m sure Gary is just listing options, even though they would not be a good way of cashing out TD Buxx.
Gary, thank you for the link!
No endorsement implied it was more about examples of the way people use these things rather than trying to make everything 100% explicit
The southwest incident is yet another example of an over-the-top abusive gate agent. Using the bogus ‘I feel threatened’ excuse to make him delete the tweet makes everyone less safe. Next time just send the tweet later.
