Yesterday I posted my video taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. As per custom I called out three people to take theirs.
Parag thinks I should have nominated Christopher Elliott and John Pistole. Instead, these were my nominations:
- Starwood’s Chris Holdren emails to let me know he’ll follow through on the challenge by Monday.
- Starwood Lurker is trying to figure out his Samsung Note. I look forward to their contributions!
- Milepoint co-founder, and MegaDO trip organizer, Tommy Danielsen contributes finished his.
Here is that contribution:
From a bath tub at the Park Hyatt Vendome in Paris, he challenges Hyatt Gold Passport head Jeff Zidell, also Bob Behrens from Marriott Rewards and Teresa Comparato, Director Loyalty Marketing EMEA at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group (Club Carlson). He adds a fourth as well, United’s Jeff Foland.
He claims in the video that he’s making a bigger donation than I did. You may be able to verify this by looking closely at my computer screen in my #IceBucketChallenge video, but he’s going to need to up the ante of his 100 euro gift. Tommy, will you increase your gift?
- You can join the 40,000+ people who see these deals and analysis every day — sign up to receive posts by email (just one e-mail per day) or subscribe to the RSS feed. It’s free. You can also follow me on Twitter for the latest deals. Don’t miss out!
Hint! Gary donated $250!!
Now THAT is what I call Vendoming!
I’ll add another 100 if you dump an ice bucket filled with ice and water on your head– and post it!
Ehh I guess it is probably for the best that you didn’t nominate TSA head John Pistole because then the TSA would have declared a war on ice…
Great ice bucket challenge, Tommy! One of my favorite.
its a good gesture to the cause, but giving too much exposure for wrong disease. my sympathy goes out to those who suffer the disease but not to the organization itself. this ALS thing has been around 70 yrs and with funding from government and private entities, not a single breakthrough to help those aflicted with the disease. the deadliest of disease in the news lately is Ebola got immediate attention and quick drugs to save lives but Als ? after 70 yrs and people are still dying with no cure, not even something to slow it down. what are they doing with all those donated money. please be aware of what you are donating to and question the Cause…dont just be a follower.
WTF?
I’ll say it if no one else will.
Congratulations. You’ve “mommyjacked” the ice bucket challenge via Vendoming.
BTW, it is distasteful to post your contribution.
One only posts their exact charitable donations to make oneself look good in public. Disgusting interpretation of such a wonderful idea.
I can’t even lurk anymore on this blog without throwing up. Ugh!!!
LOVED IT! I’ve already forwarded the YouTube to a few people!
