Hilton HHonors has narrowed their next promotion down to two options, and members can vote for which one they want to see. The one that gets the most votes will run November 1 through January 31.
The choices are either:
- Double HHonors Points, beginning with second stay, or
- 1,000 Bonus Points for every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday night stay
Both promotions are extremely weak. Hotels are doing extremely well, and programs don’t need to do a lot to put heads in beds currently. But this promotion runs during the period of the year that tends to be the weakest, so I would have expected something a little bit stronger… at least when they’re looking for member involvement.
Double points is better than not having double points, but it doesn’t even start with your first stay, isn’t triple points, and doesn’t contain any sort of incrementally better earn with more stays.
And 1000 points.. when the better Hilton HHonors properties now run nearly 100,000 points per night… and the bonus isn’t even available on Tuesday and Wednesday nights?
Rather than voting for which promotion everyone lives under, why not let members pick which one they want..?
At least you get a say in spending some of their cash for charity. Members vote between three charities, and the winning charity gets $200,000 and the other two receive $50,000.
- Mercy Corps
- Oxfam
- Save the Children

Hilton is so yesterday……..
How about option 3: “bleh and meh; I’ll just take my business to Marriott, Hyatt and/or SPG for the quarter”
Thanks for the tip! My choice was clear, and I’m glad to get a chance to vote. Every year I stay in a local Doubletree Thurs-Sun for a club convention. I’m going to stay there either way, but 4,000 extra Hilton points would be welcome. Last year’s April promotion was better, though; somehow I ended up earning 13,000 miles for the long weekend.
