World of Hyatt loyalty program changes start today.
Hyatt’s Top Elite Status Has Become Tougher to Get But More Valuable to Have
It’s harder to reach top tier elite status — no more qualifying on stays, no more credit towards top status via credit card spend, and 60 nights instead of 50 to qualify — for those who reach “Globalist” status it’s the most generous top tier in the industry among major programs.
And it’s even better on net than Hyatt’s Diamond status was before. While there are some tradeoffs (like breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children instead of 4 adults, and no more check-in amenity), there are real improvements:
- My Hyatt Concierge – a dedicated agent to take care of all things related to Hyatt, similar to Starwood’s Ambassador (SPG requires 100 nights for this perk).
- Upgrades at check-in now include standard suites.
- Confirmed suite upgrades now valid on award nights, and you can earn more than 4 in a year — an additional suite upgrade or 10,000 points at 70, 80, 90, and 100 nights in a year.
- A free night at any participating Hyatt property upon reaching 60 nights, waived resort fees, and free parking on award stays.

I’m Giving Away Top Tier Hyatt Status to a Reader
Hyatt offered me a Globalist status to give away. I’m not going to do the usual ‘answer a question in the comments and I’ll pick at random’ method. Instead what I’d love is for you to share why or how you’ll benefit from Hyatt Globalist status, and we’ll pick one winner based on the comments.
I’ve got someone who is going to choose for me. I’d love for the Globalist status to go to someone who will get good use out of it and find it meaningful. Entries close Tuesday, March 7 at Noon eastern. All decisions are final and unappealable, you agree that I’ll have no liability for offering this contest. I’m just trying to help a reader here, so please don’t give me a hard time!

What Gifted Globalist Will Get You — and What It Won’t
Gifted status doesn’t come with the perks that are earned based on night (or spend) thresholds. So it won’t come with the free night for reaching 60 nights, 4 confirmed suite upgrades, My Hyatt Concierge or reduced qualification requirements for the coming year (the need to stay 55 rather than 60 nights to keep status).
But you will receive:
- Upgrades including suites subject to availability, as well as club lounge access
- Breakfast in the hotel restaurant when no club lounge is available
- Free parking on award stays, and no resort fees on paid stays
- Guest of honor privileges, grant someone top tier status for their stay when you redeem your points for them
- Priority early check-in and guaranteed 4pm check-out (doesn’t apply at resorts or casinos)
- Daily bottle of water
- Ability to match to MGM M life Rewards Gold status

All in all not bad.

Why or how would you benefit from Hyatt Globalist status if you’re picked?
I just received my World of Hyatt card today, as an Explorist. As a Globalist I get a new card!
Would love to stay all Park Hyatt Properties this year within US, the benefit would be obvious, lol
The status will help me take my mom on multiple trips around the world! Its been her dream ever since she was little to go to the Far East and Hyatt has some of the nicest properties out there
Globalist status will allow me to take my in laws to Hawaii in comfort. They rarely fly premium flights or stay in suites, and have never been to Hawaii.
I am planning a round the world trip. Suite upgrades would be a nice addition.
I need it because I travel for tennis tournaments and the breakfast/club access is very important for me to get enough energy before the match. When I become famous ill give you my autograph for free (:
Hyatt Globalist would be my ticket into the Club Lounge that I was hooked on during my last Hyatt stay. I was at a conference in San Diego and stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. The Club Lounge on one of the tower’s highest floor offered a peaceful harbor view and a wide selection of hot and cold breakfast items. It allowed me to focus and get energized for the day ahead.
Gary
I would benefit from this perk due to the fact that I’m on a one year sabatical. I am turning in my IT hat for shirts and flip flops. I have several trips already booked for the remainder of 2017. I would change my stats to hyatts.
Thanks
Mark
Suite upgrades are indeed suite!
I am staying in DC this summer for my sister’s 60th birthday, a family event. This would help with family members.
For the past couple of years, my husband and I have been saving for a trip to England and Scotland for our 40th Anniversary.
Some unexpected expenses took all the savings for the trip. We were pretty discouraged.
A friend told me about the ways to earn free or reduced travel through cards.
For the past year, I’ve been building up awards points. It’s been almost like a second job, but with sign-up bonuses and regular purchasing, it looks like we might get to go to Europe after all!
Hyatt has one of the best rates for points per night, so they have been high on my list for stays.
It would be *very nice* to have the perks of the Globalist level!
Thank you, View from the Wing, for being a key source of help in this travel award journey
My job requires me to travel to many locations without Hyatts so I’ve never been inclined to try them out until this year. I looked up all my locations for this year and there are Hyatt’s nearby! My dilemma in switching to them is starting from the bottom, though I would have enough nights to achieve global status organically. I would love to experience what top tier status at Hyatt entails and compare it with the other hotel chains that I have top tier status in.
Hi Gary,
I have an upcoming trip to Italy planned where the girlfriend and I will stay at the Park Hyatt Milan. Neither of us have been to Italy before so we’re super excited for it. Would love to be able to have Globalist status while at arguably the best Hyatt in the world.
Thanks!
Gary — very cool offer. I really enjoyed my time as Hyatt Diamond, but with less travel, would only benefit infrequently from Globalist status. Can you find someone who can’t qualify for Globalist but haas a lot of travel coming up? That should also be a good story!
For the free breakfast
Globalist status can help me to organize family reunion in Florida and invite my relatives from Israel.
The value of the spousal credits I will earn from top Hyatt status is incalculable. A happy wife is the best upgrade of all!
I have 2 trips coming up with stays at Hyatt hotels. I would love to have Globalist status so that I could provide my family a more comfortable stay in Seattle and Maui.
I’ll retire this year to do lots of around the world travelling with my wife, so with this benefit she ‘ll be thrilled.
I’m top level elite with Hilton and IHG so I would like to compare benefits and settle on the best program of the three.
I’m just a road warrior so upgrades when I travel for work would make being away from the family a little less rough.
Take the Wife back home to Thailand and spend a few days at the new Park Hyatt in Bangkok. She needs to be spoilt with all my travel.
Taking my family (boys 12 and 10 and 1 year old daughter) to The Park Hyatt New York in May and Grand Hyatt DC back to back. Suites would be a game changer for this trip and the one to grand Hyatt Kauai in November!
Last year your timely blog post got me to enjoy Hyatt Diamond via my SPG gold status, a move that made for exceptional stays at the Park Hyatt Vendome and Andaz Fifth Ave. Now that my year is up, I feel like Elaine on Seinfeld when she gets kicked out of first class “no, please don’t send me back there. I’ll do anything!!”
I just lost my status due to a job change to a position without travel. Globalist would help me feel like the better job is worth the loss of status.
Would love to have this for our trip to Europe this year! The suite upgrades would be incredible. Thanks!!
We’ve got a 9 month old baby and haven’t traveled in a while. We’re making a point for that to change very soon. And the larger, upgraded rooms will make it easier when jetting around with our new #TravelTot.
The upgrades would be super nice for my upcoming honeymoon.
Love, love the Platinum benefits of Marriott and the concierge lounge, (rare) suite upgrades. But I drooled walking past the Park Hyatt Sydney last fall! I am very high maintenance (per my husband) and I do like my suite perks and upgrades!! I think i would easily “fit your bill” of someone that would truely appreciate the globalist benefits!!
Globalist would allow easy and free hotel breakfasts
Gary,
I travel for work approximately 30-50 nights a year with around 25 nights in Hyatt properties. I was Hyatt Diamond last year via a status match from SPG. I have received many suite upgrades and was treated very well. I spent 3/4 of my DSUs at GH San Diego(during my engagement weekend), GH Hong Kong(during my family vacation), GH Taipei(during my family vacation). However, I did not make the cut to earn Hyatt Globalist this year and as a result, I have shifted my stays to SPG/Hilton.
If i receive Hyatt Globalist status, I would shift my stays back to Hyatt since I received tremendous value from late checkout, suite upgrades, etc. Also, for my honeymoon in January of 2018, I’m looking to stay in GH Hong Kong, GH Singapore and PH Sydney! Having Globalist status would be jaw dropping for my finance and I!
We are flying SQ suites from HKG-SIN-SYD by transferring TY Points to KrisFlyers program! Thanks!
My SO loves to travel and has always planned all our trips over the years. She had Diamond status and through that, I’ve benefited and enjoyed experiences and perks during our travels, including at Hyatt hotels in Paris, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. We have several trips coming up, and I currently have the status from my Hyatt credit card. It would be nice if I can return the favor by arranging the hotels and surprising her with the Globalist experience via my own status this time.
My wife and I have done our best to give our kids experiences from around the world! We truly believe they will become better people for it, giving them the courage to experience new places and cultures in the future. Obviously this is not a cheap endeavor for a family of 5, even in the world of miles and points. We definitely rely on the extra perks that come from elite status. Things like free breakfast, no resort fees, suite upgrades, and club lounges make a HUGE difference for our family! Not only do they save us money, but they also give us an extra level of comfort for big family. Gary, PLEASE consider us! It would definitely be put to good use.
Gary – I love that you’re doing this. I’m not a candidate, because I won’t be traveling enough, this year, to make it worthwhile, and I’m not in any great need. I hope you find someone whose life will be truly improved by this special offer.
I have three vacations booked with my family this year, all at Grand Hyatt’s (Seattle, San Diego, and DC). Free breakfast goes a long way and helps save a ton!
Could definitely use the status benefits for a great family trip at the Ziva Cancun
Hyatt Globalist would allow me to spend more quality time with my wife. My military lifestyle would give us a no hassle way of seeing each other more regularly.
I have a big year of travel with my wife and daughter. suite upgrades and club would make it roughly 56% better. Also, I am sick of hilton.
Would be great to have Globalist for my anniversary this summer at the Park Hyatt Milan!
This would be great for our trip to New York City this year.
What a generous offer! Thanks Hyatt and Gary! Opportunities to move up in the world are always appreciated!
Would love to have it be me!
I would benefit from the free breakfast at my family’s upcoming stay at the Andaz Papagayo!
What better to use a top tier status than in Washington DC.
Going to stay in Montreal!
I’ll benefit from the perks, but Hyatt will benefit even more as I’ll return my loyalty to them from SPG 🙂
I travel with my family often (wife + 2 children) and the potential for suite upgrades would be huge, not to mention the free breakfast benefit.
It’s been my goal to hit all of the Category 7 Hyatt properties since I started getting into this hobby a few years ago. Closing in on that goal this year, and having Globalist status would only make those stays even sweeter!
Lot of the replies seem so altruistic and some of them definitely deserved to be picked. I have a lowly discoverist status now, hopefully make it to explorist by year end. I book award stays for family and some friends and would love the globalist status so I can give them Guest of Honor benefits making their stay little better. Appreciate the opportunity! Thanks.
I want to spoil my wife since she always takes care of the kids while I am away at work all day! She has the hardest job out there and yet it is so rewarding. I hope to take her to Asia for a few weeks and stay at Hyatt’s in Hong Kong, DaNang, Bangkok, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. Please let me WOW my wife and pick us!
I have many upcoming travels in 2017 and 2018. Trips with my husband and children. Trips with my best friend. Trips with just my husband. Trips with my parents. Trips with his parents. My husband and I will both be celebrating our 40th birthdays. Best friend too! What a generous and luxurious treat this would be to share with them all, all over the world. None of us travel for work, so this kind of status is not something we would otherwise ever have the chance to experience. Hope to be considered and appreciate the spirit of this contest!
This year (and hopefully, well into the future), my wife and I are planning to take our 6yr old on trips around the world. If we plan properly, we are trying to do at least 1 trip a month. Should we be the lucky recipients of this kind gesture, we will put it to good us by:
1) Use the United club passes (to replace recently expired ones) on our next United trip from SFO – SYR. However, I am not sure if club passes are included in the gifted status.
2) Try to be Hyatt exclusive as much as possible.
3) Avoid the 2 most annoying fees for hotel stays, resort and parking. Some places charge resort fees even when they are clearly not resorts.
4) Breakfast! enough said.
5) Early check in and late check outs are extremely useful to accommodate our penchant to find cheap flights.
I travel internationally on regular basis to assist with humanitarian aid strategy and execution. My travels do provide opportunities to stay at Hyatt properties. However, those stays will not be enough to achieve Globalist Status. The gift of Globalist status would be a welcome way to refresh during layovers in European countries after visiting third world sites with difficult living conditions.
This next year (maybe two) my wife and I have decided on traveling throughout the US. We’ve been going on trips outside the country every year (since this new hobby) but we have decided to get to know the US better. We go to NYC and Austin and Seattle a lot (3 kids to visit) and the whole of the West coast as we live in California, but now we’d like to visit most of the rest of the country. We now have the time AND the Southwest Companion Pass, and have decided a few months ago that Hyatt is our kind of hotel chain. We don’t really like Hiltons nor Radissons (except outside the US) nor even SPG (often seem “ponsy”) and Marriott? well we do stay there sometimes.
But Hyatt is just “our level”. Just got back from the Hyatt Regency in Maui.
Their hotels are not fancy but good value, always friendly and welcoming staff.
In December we stayed at the Hyatt House in Austin (Arboretum) and I liked it – simple and cheap too with a kitchenette. I wasn’t sure how long we’d be there (turned out to be 5 nights) so I had booked each night separately, using points between my account and my wife’s.
When we arrived I asked if we could keep our room for as long as we stayed, maybe 4 or 5 nights and that was fine with them. However, on the evening of the second night while I was in downtown Austin I got a call from the front desk and they told me they had noticed I was not booked in for that night but they had called Gold Passport and found I had mistakenly booked the other nights into the Hyatt Place (also at the Arboretum) and had proactively looked for me to confirm I had made a mistake. I said Yes and they took care of cancelling my other bookings (no penalty) and transferring them to the House.
Now that’s what I call service above and beyond! I love Hyatt. We plan on spending many nights in the next year at Hyatts and the upgraded status would be fantastic.
taking the little ones on adventures to stimulate their curiosity is a huge part of our parenting philosophy. Plus, my client are small businesses. This upgrade would end up benefiting more than just me.
Use status for Suites upgrades and lounge access.
I travel work work and present my research at medical conferences. It would be nice to be able to stay in upgraded suites.
I’m a teacher have a month long Europe trip in the works for my summer break. I would stay at as many Hyatts as possible with Globalist. So far I have stops planned in Zurich, Milan, and Mallorca, all of which I hear have beautiful Park Hyatts that are calling my name.
Would love to try Park Hyatt Tokyo.
With globalist, I really want to try out some of the luxury Park Hyatt hotels with the “on-the-house” room service breakfast.
I would travel often for business and don’t really use Hyatt but would like a reason to experience them more
Would help to introduce ‘World’ of Hyatt to my newborn in style :-).
I’m going to go to Europe this August and Park Hyatt Paris Vendome is one of my buckett list but since I’m traveling with my wife and 2 children, it’s hard to imagine to go there without being globalist. I do have other chain hotel membership such as SPG and Marriott Platinum but they don’t guarantee suite at the time of booking. Not only Park Hyatt Paris Vendome, there are also gorgeous Hyatt properties in Europe, which I’m definitely checking in if I get Globalist, that my family would love to stay.
Me and my family would be thrilled to have the benefits.
Also I’m going to Japan later this year, too so visiting Park Hyatt Tokyo once again would be very cool.
Would benefit from free breakfast on upcoming travels. I’ve heard great things about lemon poppyseed pancakes in NY
I’m a firefighter so I’m unable to build status and miles accounts through work travel. But through credit cards and traveling whenever I can I’ve been able to book a once in a lifetime trip to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and dubai with miles! I’d love to use the Hyatt status to stay at the park Hyatt Sydney as well as hyatts in Dubai and Hong Kong
I’d like to see if Gary and his peers are right when they describe their stays as an top tier elite..
With 3 teen boys and a husband, I live in the house that testosterone built. I’ve seen a lot of super hero movies over the years. That Globalist status would help me feed those bottomless pits at breakfast when we stay with Hyatt. Sometimes the points world is a little harder for us since we have to get two rooms, but the free parking or free resort fee would help out a lot. Later this year I have stays booked at Park Hyatt Chicago and Park Hyatt Beaver Creek that would shine a little brighter as a Globalist. I wonder how many more Hyatt stays I could fit in this year with that?
I am getting married in November and I am using points to cut down a lot of costs involved. I will need to spend about $4,000 in breakfast for all the guests over the span of 2 days, but if I had globalist status, I could get them the breakfast as part of the guest of honor.
Would really appreciate the help!
Growing up I’ve always dreamed that I could travel the world and stay at many wonderful hotels that belong to Hyatt. It is still just dreams but with the help of your blog, my dreams are getting closer.
I am the future Globalist!
Let’s Travel!
Planning an upcoming 40th anniversary trip to Bali for me and my husband. Hyatt status for our stay at the Grand Hyatt would make it extra special.
I would love to experience first ever non paid upgrade to a suite. Planning another Cancun Hyatt Ziva and upgrade to a suite in such resort would be great break having two three year old twin boys in a separate room during breaks or just tougher moments. I hope i can be considered.
I’ve been qualifying for Hyatt Diamond for years based on stays…but that said, I don’t think I would ever qualify for Globalist under World of Hyatt. While I stay at Hyatts often enough, I rarely break 40 nights a year.
If I were picked to win Globalist status, I would try my hardest to see if I can score a suite upgrade for every work and personal trip! Free breakfast and DSUs (or their WoH equivalent) are great, but I would have the most fun seeing if I can talk my way into a suite for ~40 nights this year!
Hyatt Elite stsus will allow me to escape my home fillled with teens!!
Plan to use Globalist status to pick up ladies. I hear it works just like walking a cute puppy.
My wife and I are taking our first ever trip to Europe (and first international trip together that isn’t Mexico, and we live in Texas, and we’ve been together 12.5 years…) this summer, and we’re staying at the Park Hyatt Vendome! Despite the free travel, money is still fairly tight so the free food would be amazing.
Towards the end of the year, we’re going to a beach with the kids. We haven’t planned it yet, but this would definitely make us choose a Hyatt!
Finally, I do travel for work and I’d move stays whenever possible to Hyatt with this status. Explorist isn’t doing it for me (I have the card), but Globalist sure would change my booking habits!
My new wife and I have learned a tremendous amount from Gary – enough to generate a more than a million points from opening new credit cards and other accounts. I’ve paid for our honeymoon at the Hyatt Regency Maui and for our parents and families to go to amazing trips around the world. But the biggest trip we are going to this year is to visit many of our relatives in Korea who were unable to attend our wedding due to age and their health. We will be traveling next month to Korea in business class on Japan Airlines by using Avios points gained through the British Airways card, referred to us by Gary. We were also able to get free nights at the Park Hyatt Seoul by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points, referred to us by Gary on the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card.
In addition to our familial duties in Korea we also decided to make a one in a lifetime experience together to Japan to see the Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo, with free nights in the Park Hyatt Tokyo and Andaz Toranomon Hills – all thanks again to Gary and a referral for the Hyatt Credit Card for both myself and my wife.
We’re both very thankful that we were able to go on a lot of great trips, for which Gary and this website has been extraordinary for us. If we were get Hyatt Globalist status, it would be a fantastic way for us to get even more benefits at places we’re staying at for our trip next month, and beyond.
I’m going to the Park Hyatt Tokyo next month with my girlfriend, including 2 free nights thanks to the Chase Hyatt card, and flying first class there on JAL. This is my first award redemption since starting this hobby last year, so I’m exciting about all my “work” paying off, and impressing her with the fruits of my labor. An upgrade to a suite at such an incredible hotel would make it a truly memorable trip.
I wish I could say I will be proposing to her on this trip, or that I am dying and this is on my bucket list, or that I am on my way to volunteer to help teenage pregnant polar bears, but sadly nothing so inspirational. However, I haven’t booked the rest of my hotel stays for the trip, so you can be sure that I would get great use out of Globalist status!
I would love to win this status. My wife and I are going to be staying at the Park Hyatt in NYC for our first solo trip since our son was born 7 years ago. The status would really make this Birthday get away extra special. Thanks
Would love globalist status this year with Hyatt! Last years diamond status gave me major points with the family! Everyone benefits with free breakfast and club access!
I have a few upcoming reservations including one with my family. Would be awesome!
Upgrades including suites subject to availability, as well as club lounge access
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant when no club lounge is available
Free parking on award stays, and no resort fees on paid stays
Guest of honor privileges, grant someone top tier status for their stay when you redeem your points for them
Priority early check-in and guaranteed 4pm check-out (doesn’t apply at resorts or casinos)
Daily bottle of water
Ability to match to MGM M life Rewards Gold status
Suite upgrades and breakfast as I travel with the family a lot.
I just accumulated my first points and miles so that my husband and I could go to Hawaii and I am planning on trying to get in at the Andaz, but a Hyatt either way. We don’t go on vacation often and when we do it has always been with a group of people because that’s how we can afford it. We never even had a honeymoon. Having elite status would be so great, to be able to see what it is like having all those perks for probably the only time that we would be able to have it.
This a hard hobby to sustain for two people if you aren’t big spenders. After two award trips, the card churning is running into a bit of a wall. Having the highest status at such an awesome chain like Hyatt (which is my award chain of.choice) will make splurging on a room or coming out of pocket for hotels if we can manage another flight award that much sweeter.
I am sure my story is no different than hundreds of other readers. But I have a bunch of Hyatt points that are expiring this year and would hate to not be able to redeem them at some best Hyatt properties worldwide. Unfortunately I no longer carry a Hyatt credit card so no status whatsoever. It’ll be really nice if my family can enjoy their breakfast at some Hyatt resorts since they are usually fantastic and expensive unless provided complementary as part of Globalist benefits. So here you go, as simply as that. The value proposition in my case will be quite high and I have already planned two trips in the next few months with Hyatt. Can’t wait to get some kind of status, so thank you so much for the opportunity!
I have embarked on a path to visit all the major park hyatt, grand hyatt, and andaz within 3 years. So far I have stayed at 13 different hyatt properties. Cant wait to try them all!
Hello, I was a Diamond member and I just took my mother to the Andaz papagayo and she loved our upgraded room and our free diamond breakfast. She even decided to go back and her and my dad are going to have their 50th wedding anniversary trip there next summer. My mom and I have a another trip planned to Europe this June and we will be staying at the Park Hyatt Vienna. She was so excited that we were staying at another Hyatt. She was very sad when I told her I was going to no longer be a diamond this summer, so we wouldn’t be getting a free breakfast or an upgraded room. I would love to be able to surprise her with free breakfast and maybe a suite upgrade during our upcoming June vacation. I have heard great things about the free diamond breakfast at the Park Hyatt Vienna and I would love to have Globalist status to treat my mother once more time . She is starting to get spoiled on the trips I am taking her on.
Suite Upgrades when I’m visiting such properties as the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, Tokyo, or Sydney, when I’m at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, or maybe at my next vacation at the Andaz Papagayo! Surprise my significant other…win-win!
I have just redeemed one pair of star alliance around the world ticket and was about to book some hyatt properties. The status could really scale up my level of experience and perhaps I could start to contribute by writing a couple of reviews for those not so popular(but very good) hyatt properties.
And I am looking forward to a few confirmed business trip from Q2. Since my company has company rate with Hyatt, with the given status, for sure I will book all my stays with hyatt.
Good luck for me!
My wife and I just married recently and we’ve been putting off our honeymoon. This would be a great chance to take maximize our stay at the PH Sydney!
Family is trying to go to Asia next year and the suite upgrades and free breakfast would be extremely helpful and motivate the trip even more. It would be great to enjoy the benefits at the andaz or park Hyatt Tokyo, the grand Hyatt hong long as well as all other travel throughout the year.
I will be travelling to Europe this summer and would love Top tier status with Hyatt and make my stays more confortable.
I want to start a blog and start travel activites. This is why I need it.
Would love Globalist status this year with Hyatt! Last year’s Diamond status made travel so much easier and fuller with the family! We benefited from free breakfast / club access and DSU’s. Would be thrilled to have it for 2017 and stay at Hyatt during our travels this year.
I would love to have Hyatt’s new Globalist status! I was a Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond member until the end of February (didn’t requalify). I forgot to use my suite upgrades and they ended up expiring, so having Globalist status would allow me to get some great upgrades on a trip I’m planning to Asia later in the summer (especially at the Park Hyatt Shanghai!).
Won’t be traveling enough to qualify for Globalist under new requirements, but having that status would make business trips more enjoyable, and would definitely be great for me and my best friend as we want to get through our bucket list over the next year and half (with Hyatt surprisingly having properties in many of them).
Hello Gary,
There isnt a day that goes by when I dont look at your posts and visit your webpage. I used to be a frequent traveller and used to have top status with SPG, Hyatt and Hilton, until I got diagnosed with cancer last January and I had a newborn at the same time. Life had changed for me and I gave up my passion for travel and went into chemo treatments for over 7 months and right now I am in remission. I started to travel a little and stay at hotels here and there over the past couple of months but I really miss my elite status and perks. I have a big Hawaii trip that I am planning to take with my wife and my 1 year old that I had been wanting to ever since I was done with my treatments. Top status with Hyatt would mean I can plan a stay at the Hyatt Andaz in Maui and I do want to visit the Hyatt Maldives sometime this year as well when we go see my family in India as, I didnt get a chance to meet them and they are very eager to meet me ever since they got to know about my cancer. Top status with Hyatt would mean a lot to me and my family on this trip as I would try to stay as much as possible in hyatt during all these trips and enjoy the really great benefits it comes with and awesome upgrades, free breakfast especially in Maldives where staying in water villa has always been my dream.
I’m a graduate student who’s probably going to propose in more ways than one in the coming months. That means there will be some celebratory trips to plan (more so for the personal proposal than the academic one) and not a ton of money to fund them. Benefits like free breakfast on points stays at otherwise expensive properties would make a world of difference to me (and a special someone if she says yes), and give me the ability to make upcoming special occasions even more special and memorable. I’d be eternally grateful to you and your judge for the meaningful difference it would make in our lives, and it might even get you invited to a wedding…unless you think that would count as bribery, in which case we’ll just send you a thank you note on a Park Hyatt postcard.
Good luck, and thanks for doing this!
Upgrades at great hotels and club access would be awesome. Thanks for making this available.
I never was Hyatt Diamond only Platinum and would love to enjoy for one year the Hyatt Globalist status.
I travel mostly of the time for pleasure and holiday around the world with my partner and we both love to stay in good hotels. What we love more is to enjoy hotels.
Sometimes we only go back to a city to trie out and see a new hotel with Elite Status to see discover how good is the suite or how nice is the Club Lounge.
We both really enjoy to stay in Club lounges sometimes even hours to have some rest and enjoy the service or chat with the staffs.
I made over the last couple of years many friends from normal housekeeping staffs till managers this fascinate me always about to travel. Is not the hotel what make a stay memorable is the people who work in there and try to serve and make you happy every single minute.
If I would get the Hyatt Globalist status I would stay probably more with Hyatt this year then Marriott, Hilton or IHG.
Hyatt was always a good hotel accommodation and I would be more then happy to try out the new Top tier status for one year.
headed out on our honeymoon, arriving at the Park Hyatt Maldives on 3/11. Would LOVE to get status for that, along with the upcoming work trips I have coming up, where I’d gladly stay at Hyatts (Philly here I come!). Thanks for the giveaway, so fun!
I will be getting married at the Hyatt in Danang in May. I am planning to use my Hyatt points to book a room at the hotel for my fiancee’s parents (who are from China and have never stayed at a Hyatt before) so with Globalist status I would use the Guest of Honor privileges to give them lounge access, daily breakfast, and a possible upgrade during their stay.
After the wedding. I am headed to Japan with my fiancee for our honeymoon and will be staying at the Hyatt Kyoto, Andaz Tokyo, and the PH Tokyo.
So in addition to helping me impress my fiancee’s parents and making sure they have a memorable Hyatt stay during my wedding, having Globalist status would allow me to have an extra special honeymoon (would be great to get upgrades, free breakfast, and happy hour at the Peak Bar at the PH Tokyo).
Thank you for offering this generous give away to your readers.
I’ve saved up a lot of Hyatt points over the years (at least by my standards) of over 200,000. But I’ve never had elite status with them. Since their new top-level status allows suite upgrades, I would love to start redeeming these for some of their resorts and be able to apply a suite upgrade. Senior year high school for my oldest and would love to have a memorable senior trip. Something amazing as a last official family vacation before he is out of the house.
My company recently partnered with Hyatt and I’ll be traveling at least 17-20 days a month for some special projects coming up until about October/November. Would be a mix of Hyatt, Centric,Regency, and Grand Hyatt brands. Would love this prize since I would be getting a ton of use out it and it would handy for personal trips as well. Thanks for the chance!
I’ve stayed at Hyatt Hotels for years and hardly a month goes by without staying in a Hyatt but because of our corporate policy for hotel reservations I will never reach status worth anything so it would be sweet to finally have status, must less Globalist status! For 20 years I have collected my meager Hyatt points from personal travel and am planning on blowing it all (with a top up from my CSR) to fulfill my wife’s dream of taking our family on a trip before my oldest son graduates high school and we lose the opportunity to have the whole family together. My wife endures so much with me traveling as she cares for our 4 children that I would love to treat her to the luxury afforded by Globalist status. Gary (and decider), thanks for considering us in this giveaway.
I have an award stay booked at the Hyatt Maui at Poipu Beach in July. The daily breakfast and waived parking fees would be a big bonus to my family. Also we are going to a wedding in June and will book the Hyatt Grand in Scottsdale if I can have Globalist . I currently have the Hyatt House booked for that trip but will switch if I have status.
I’m taking my family (wife and 2 sons) to Europe to celebrate our anniversary on points and I’m staying in Hyatts in Paris, Nice and Milan — it would be quite nice to enjoy the globalist benefits in such nice hotels
I travel enough for work to earn mid level status (which I also get via credit cards), however never enough for top tier. Combined with getting married this year and my honeymoon, I’d love to give top tier a try!
To show my mom the world like the VIP she is.
Planning an Asia trip this year and it would be very helpful
The benefit i love and enjoy about status with a hotel is a late checkout – to enjoy a 4pm checkout alters travel plans in such a positive way – planning a late flight out on checkout day to enjoy a city for brunch or a few hours to see a sight or two without having to check out and check luggage with the bellman. In addition to be able to go back to the room and grab a shower and change before departing. This is a major value and perk to me! Thanks for the great contests!
I had been Diamond for many years but not Globalist this year. Pick me, plz! so that I can use it for my Moscow trip in May, staying at Park Hyatt Moscow with exceptional Globalist benefits 🙂
Grand Hyatt Taipei and Hong Kong.
We are traveling this summer with at least 2 rooms for 12 nights and the breakfast benefit would help so much at managing out cost and the possible upgrades would be the icing on the cake.
My family of 4 been traveling around Asia with diamond status and I must say the experience have change the view of travels for the kids, now age 7 and 9. For the past fuve years we have been Thailand, Tokyo , Seoul , Saigon, Danang ,VN, And locally to Fl to LA. Without Hyatt diamond our travel experience would never be as excited and memorable as it was. But this Year we have lose our diamond. Kids has love going to hotel va being home, that tell you something about how great Hyatt has treated us and our family
We don’t travel for business, therefore do not earn the normal “business status” that the pros do. Having this status would make our pleasure trips an absolute dream come true.
Hi Gary,
I am a daily reader of the blog for the last few years and avid traveler and daily amateur contributor to the travel community (flyertalk, posting deals, etc., but all amateur non profit level). I travel about a third of the year, a good 4 months, all over the world. All my travel is personal, out of pocket cost, not for work or just the occasional vacation. I am a travel enthusiast and aficionado, I travel for the pleasure of travel itself. I do long weekend 4-day trips abroad (Asia, Europe, S. America) on good fares monthly and more extensive travel trips over breaks and summer, ranging from 1-4 weeks at a time. My travel is both spontaneous or planned, I do next day international trips when deals open and routinely book 11 months put, and I have open tickets originating from various cities around the world. Due to the extent of this travel I usually stay at Hiltons and Marriotts for the free breakfast and lounge access I get with mid-tier status, and I am only a “Discoverist” with Hyatt. I have a lot of travel booked domestic and internationally for the next year, about 10 days/month and the full July and August booked in Europe and Asia. Having Globalist status with Hyatt will be a great upgrade and will really help me and my partner in our travels and we’ll make great use of it, switching our stays to Hyatt. We will certainly appreciate such an opportunity and we will be very excited about it!
Keep up the good work!
I’d love to be picked for globalist status to share with my wife of 43 years. Breakfast and upgrades would be sweet.
This article starts with one of my favorite Hyatt properties- Park Hyatt Siem Reap.. and I want to continue exploring other Hyatt properties. Pacific Islands is my new home (after exploring SE Asia), and here even a 2 hour flights costs $500++, and hotel properties are marked at the highest possible tiers.
With passion for travel, I have started to explore this region (visited 2 countries in last 2 months). I plan to travel again in few weeks. With Globalist status, it would make things bit easier for my travel in this region, as the status will give me amenities that are really pricey here ! With almost 100,000 Hyatt points to spend this year, I am sure I can make great use of Globalist status, and get the priceless experience at my upcoming Hyatt stays !
Looking forward..
I care less about suite upgrades when traveling alone on business, but would love to exploit these on pleasure trips with my wife.
Well, this would be my first time doing heavy traveling in a number of years. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten Hyatt Diamond, so I definitely miss the perks like the suite upgrades, the free breakfast, and the late checkouts. And now that my sister’s kids are all grown up, her family is definitely traveling more, and she looks to me to get her the extra special perks. Although I don’t believe I’m more deserving than anyone else in this thread, getting the gifted status would make our travels a lot more pleasant.
As crazy as this may sound, when I was a Hyatt Diamond a few years ago (obtained via a generous status match to Hilton), I planned virtually all travel around places where I could stay at a top tier Hyatt hotel and get the most value from my status (regardless of how much value may have been sacrificed in the irrational pursuit of status “savings”!). My wife and I chose to travel to Paris so we could stay at the Park Hyatt and get the pricey (but very high quality, albeit limited) buffet. We traveled to Washington several times because we loved the rooms that we got when applying the annual suite upgrades to inexpensive base price bookings. We also loved the seemingly limitless breakfast at Blue Duck Tavern (we were never billed for additional breakfast outside of the Diamond benefit, despite ordering 3-4 dishes for 2 people). We travelled to Vienna, Hong Kong, and Tokyo because we thought we could get good value from a suite upgrade (after paying for the room using Points + Cash in many circumstances). The list goes on. Having status has caused me to visit many places that I would not have otherwise sought out, and I had some great experiences in the process. Since I lost Diamond status, my travel has been reduced greatly. Having Globalist would enable my family to continue our pursuit of new Hyatt experiences (and hopefully expose my daughter to travel adventures and cultures along the way). Thanks Gary!
Would love the suite upgrade!m for our honeymoon!
I need the Globalist status because I just can’t accept the fact that I have been downgraded from Diamond to Explorist! I am spoiled 😉
I would love to use Globalist status at PH Maldives to save a lot of cash on breakfast (well, brunch for us), and perhaps enjoy an upgrade to a pool villa. Thanks for considering! We would love to experience your favorite vacation spot, Gary!
I’d use those perks on my upcoming one month sabbatical!
I’m going to be quitting my job in April, and then traveling all around the world for the next 6 months! Plan right now is to go through Europe, Middle East, and then Southeast Asia. I’ve been a huge miles and points fan so hopefully I will have enough saved up to report back some awesome trip reports.
Anddd if I’m so lucky enough to get Hyatt status, then I will make it a mission to stay at as many Hyatt properties as possible! I will even write you blog posts about my travels 🙂
With Hyatt Globalist status, I would take my wife 4 daughters on vacation to the Andaz Papagayo Costa Rica. Maximizing the benefits of the elite status, I could use cash and points + suite upgrade certificates to a obtain large Suite for my family. Globalist status would also afford us the ability to have breakfast at the restaurant every morning. As this Andaz in Costa Rica has complementary childcare, my wife and I could get some much needed down time as well.
I’d love the opportunity to take my parents (who rarely travel or even fly) to a unique experience to enjoy Hyatt’s top tier Globalist status. They don’t travel in luxury so they’ve never experienced anything like this before so I’d say it would be a great 40th anniversary present!
I’d love Globalist status!
My family would benefit immensely from having Hyatt status. My husband was recently diagnosed with a rare disease and is undergoing medical treatment in NYC. We have been traveling back and forth between Chicago and NY, bringing our 1 and 3 year old sons with us as often as my schedule allows. Having the benefit of breakfast for a family of 4 would help us cut costs, but the real kicker would be upgrades to suites when available. It is so hard to cramp all 4 of us, especially when my husband isn’t feeling well, in to a small room where we are all basically forced to go to bed at 7:30.
I was a Hyatt Diamond member years ago (when I traveled for work) and I have stayed with the chain as my go-to even though I don’t have the chance to travel as much anymore. I’ll always appreciate the special way I was treated and would love to be able to experience that magic once again, although under a totally different set of circumstances.
wow, a lot of worthy people to gift this status to!
i would get a lot of use for this as 2017 will be a big travel year for us. Getting Globalist Elite status would be the clincher for us to spend our nights in Hyatts.
Thanks Gary!
I am going to be in my 4th year of medical school soon and will be going on interviews all over the country. Flights, hotels, and transportation racks up quick. The average student spends roughly $6,000 on the interview trail.
Having Globalist status will help provide me with some benefits such as the breakfast options and amenities. Additionally, it will be nice to have a nice room to relax and prepare for my interviews. I have not been able to qualify for Hyatt Diamond status before, but I would love to see how it is, even if its for a year!
For the first trip to Paris.
Why ? I would actually like to know the difference between Hyatt and SPG and see what the difference is for me (who is not top level). We all know SPG gold is nothing. Now I want to know if Hyatt treats their mid level the same.
How? I’d just stay in HK Grand Hyatt to let me know the WHYs. 🙂
As a family of 4 with 2 little ones, the most important factors choosing a hotel are space, space, and space. The new World of Hyatt Globalist can get a upgrade to suite which is I value most of being a Globalist. Free breakfast and lounge are helpful as well.
Breakfast! 5 upcoming trips with my wife and 2 kids.
I’m a co-founder of a charitable organization that uses points and miles to fly refugees to reunite with their loved ones. I’d like Globalist status to return some of that generosity by occasionally offering friends who have supported our efforts with Guest of Honor status during some of their hotel stays.
I could only skim this article, because Hyatt has become a “who cares” to me. Hyatt rooms are overpriced. Hyatt expires your points too frequently. Hyatt isn’t widespread enough.
I’m glad there are people who still value the Hyatt brand, but for the average traveling guest, Hyatt doesn’t want their loyalty and I won’t lose any sleep over it… there are tons of other places to visit!
I will be traveling to Park Hyatt Milan and Park Hyatt Vienna and I would love to make use of the breakfast offered to top tier members. I also have a stay planned for the Hyatt in Nice and would love lounge access there. I have other stays planned this year, but if I win, I will definitely look for Hyatt hotels at my destinations.
I’d like free status because I like free things 🙂 just being honest 🙂
Long time reader and fan of yours, taking the family to Australia for the first time this summer – I know there are some fantastic properties there, and would love the chance to enjoy the W O R L D O F H Y A T T with their top elite status. Thanks for the opportunity!
The one Diamond status benefit that I valued the most (I didn’t requalify and am now an Explorist) was the ability to extend the benefits of my status to my family back in the Philippines — when I would book for them an (award) room or two as gifts for specials occasions. The elevated experience they receive from the stays are priceless. It would be amazing to still be able to do that for them if I get chosen.
I have an upcoming stay at the Andaz Tokyo and the Globalist status will save me a lot of cash on breakfast. The room upgrade that comes with the status is great too!
Considering a Hawaiian vacation and Disney trip and Globalist would be the cherry on top. Appreciate the blog Gary.
We’re Zurich-bound. We plan to stay at Sheraton Neuss Schloss, just across the Park Hyatt. With the status, we would switch to Park Hyatt instead.
I’m living abroad right now and trying to travel as much as possible to see as much as we can with my 4 year old, who is a very light sleeper and could use those suite upgrades, and loves “hotel breakfast.” I think she’ll be a travel blogger when she grows up.
This year is an anniversary year for my whole family. Parent’s 30th anniversary, our 5th & my sister’s 1st. We are headed to the Hyatt Regency Maui for a family anniversary trip in May & would love to have status while we’re there! We also have a 3 year old & a 6 month old, so any extra space (suite) & snacks from the lounge would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Suite upgrades when I travel with my family are a superb value as they allow us all to stay in a comfortably large room and take advantage of complimentary breakfast!
Free breakfast is always a major perk.
I would finally switch my loyalty to Hyatt and break up with hilton – something I’ve been trying to do for years.
It’ll convince me to stay at Hyatts more
My long term plan when I finally retire is to keep top elite status with Hyatt. Hyatt has some of my favorite properties in the world and I would love to have a taste of what the top level offers NOW.
We could sure use it at the Park Hyatt in Sydney this month!
Thanks, Gary!
I had Diamond status for a while (I initially got it through a status challenge that I learned about from this blog) and loved it… then my work changed and paid travel fell off a cliff for a while.
I’ve accumulated many points over the past few years, but I’m really missing my top tier Hyatt status as I plan my honeymoon for late this year/early next year. We’re planning to head to Australia & possibly see a bit of Asia, and I’d love to be able to take advantage of the breakfast and upgrades… seems like everywhere we’ve looked at going on the trip, there’s a gorgeous Hyatt property. I’d love to add that little extra splash to the honeymoon, and this would help tremendously.
I am going on my honeymoon soon so those upgrades could come in handy!
In December 1987, I was a very poor grad student living in the dorms at University in Hong Kong. I went back to Tokyo for the weekend to get married and bring my new bride to join me to live in one of the world’s smallest apartments. In December, we are celebrating by retracing the route. Experiencing the grandeur of the Grand Hyatt Tokyo followed by a harbour view suite at the Grand Hyatt HK for New Year’s would be a perfect way to reminisce and celebrate the start of the next 30 years.
I would love to try it for a year to compare it to Hilton Diamond and IHG Platinum and determine which program to concentrate on for the future
My parents worked their fingers to the bone on the 100-acre organic apple orchard I grew up on. This year they finally sold, for slightly less than market value, to a former classmate of mine only because he had a passion for orcharding.
They got a middiling sum of money for their troubles and have decided to take our (small) immediate family on a vacation this year. All expenses paid. I’d love to surprise them with the upgrades that come along with Globalist. But only if I can convey my winning to them. They deserve it!
Dear Sir,
As a long time aspirational reader, it would really mean alot to win hyatt status.
As a student studying abroad, i am not your typical luxury traveller, but having status would go a long way in helping my parents to visit me more often, the free lounge (dinner at happy hour) and breakfast would go a long long way at defraying cost for them. These benefits would also help me greatly in summer traveling asia while staying at lower tier hyatt properties while doing community outreach projects and defray lodging costs throughout the year when i travel for job interviews.
Rest assured, the status will not be wasted if presented to me, as thanks to your blog and the wonderful world of flyer talk, i learnt how to maximize the value of status. In my 3years studying abroad i managed to fly 6 return trips to Singapore for under 2500 total and even managed to get oneworld sapphire statues (qatar airways gold, im aiming for emerald this year, email me if you want more details of my plan to get emerald if you are interested)
Sincerely
Andrew Goh
So I could enjoy the Nutella-filled brioche french toast at the Andaz Tokyo!
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Vacations are fun,
but more fun with status,
also this doesn’t rhyme I guess.
Having recently retired and with no more business travel, I will never be able to achieve Globalist status. I was a Diamond level Gold Passport member, but am now am an Explorist, which is not that bad, but of course, not the same as being at the Globalist level. I plan to travel in my retirement and would be able to enjoy the benefits of being a Globalist while it lasted if I am lucky enough to win that status in this contest. Fingers crossed.
My wife and I are fellow travel geeks and are about to take on a travel journey before catching a break to have our first child. Having Globalist staus would really make this trip extra special (since we probably won’t be traveling for a while). So we really hope you’ll consider us 🙂
Traveling with a toddler and a 5 year old this summer to Europe for 3 weeks. Having the extra space in a suite makes a HUGE difference. Kiddos can nap in one room while mama enjoys a glass of wine in the living room. In a World of Hyatt, a confirmed suite will make our trip more enjoyable and relaxing. Please pick me! Thanks Gary & Hyatt for this treat.
Thank you for the for the opportunity. Was a Diamond in 2016 and absolutely loved the perks it brought which included suite upgrade and of course breakfast for 2. Unfortunately, I was not able to qualify for Diamond (now Globalist) in 2017 due to a few life events. Would absolutely love to have Globalist for 2017. Already have a few reservations booked but the two I’m most excited about is Hyatt Park Bangkok and Park St. Kitts.
If possible i would love to gift the status to my brother instead, i’m an explorist and it’s sufficient for me. He just lost his wife from cancer and decided to take unpaid leave for 4 months to spend time and travel with his two young children, the status would definitely a big way to ensure they would enjoy their travel better. Thank you Gary.
It’d be great to have status for my stay at the Park Hyatt in Washington DC for the Cherry Blossom run.
If you give it to me, I probably won’t use it at all. But I’ll be really grateful nonetheless.
My friends and I are traveling for a month around Europe and will be staying in 3 different Hyatts during our trip. We’re doing this trip after we graduate as a last hoorah before the real world sets in, and it would be great if we could save some cash on breakfasts and get some luxury conveniences out of it! Thanks for the competition and the blog!
I travel a lot with my family, and we have enjoyed staying at various Hyatt’s over the last few years – Kyoto, Muscat, Uruguay, Seattle, NY, Zurich etc. But it would be certainly nice to go back and check them out with all these cool Globalist benefits.
We’re planning on staying at the Park Hyatt Paris and Park Hyatt Mallorca for our honeymoon later this year (all on points, based on tips from blogs like yours!), and it’d be lovely to have that status to make our honeymoon extra special.
Used to be a hyatt diamond member. Had a baby last year so did not travel much. But this year, trying to make up for lost time. Just got back from Hyatt ziva cancun and i wish i had top-tier membership, I probably would have been upgraded to a better room at check in…
So far, for this year, we have plans on going to kyoto, shanghai, singapore, manila, hong kong; then brussels, paris, spain, ireland, sydney. Mostly, if not all, are booked or will be booked at hyatt properties. Still contemplating where to go for December holidays… but would be extremely grateful if i win
Would b rad 4 my stay in Kauai!
Let’s face it, I’ll never achieve any top-tier hotel status on my own because I simply don’t travel enough (at least the 25+ nights most programs require), and the most travel my company sends me on is maybe a few blocks away to attend the odd training seminar. I do try to travel at least once or twice every couple months and I would love to experience elite status while I stay and try to whore the sh*t out of if for the next 12 months or so. I want in on these club lounges!!
I’m not entering this contest because I wouldn’t be able to use the awarded status. But I just wanted to say that Gary is amazing for doing this on his blog.
I have this 3 legged dog named lucky that always wanted to stay in hyatts around the world before he goes to the farm in the sky…please help make his wish come true.
i can get many benefits
1) my award stays get counted
2)free lounge access and breakfast
3)may be a suite upgrade plus many more small perks like free water etc.
Gary – if I was charmed enough to get globalists status with Hyatt, it would change me from saying at Starwood properties and trying to see 60 nights to be able to get a little taste of these incredible elite benefits, which Hyatt offers. My wife and I have trips planned for 2017 in early 2018 to Sydney, Vienna, Chicago, & New York. I think everyone can put two into together and imagine where I’m going to say… Park Hyatt’s! Ithink contest like this are great, I can’t wait to see who the winner is!
We live a few hours from San Francisco, and it is the nearest place our HMO has a center for ASD. Our toddler is undergoing evaluations and we have a bunch of early morning appointments in the city so we have to stay nearby or leave the house at 4am to get him to the appointments on time.
I am looking at hotels in the city we can stay on points, but Hyatt is the only one that offers free parking On award stays, or period for that matter. Parking at these hotels is routinely 60+ dollars per night! The free breakfast wouldn’t hurt either.
We had diamond status last year as we did a challenge and 12 nights in cheap c+p in a category 1. With the night qualifications now gone, there is no chance we will see diamond again anytime soon.
I always enjoy your posts and I couldn’t help but laugh when my wife forwarded me one recently. Apparently they are making it into her suggested stories on her news app even though she doesn’t visit boarding area.
I am planing trip to Macau, Bali and Taiwan march 2018. Currently plan to stay holiday inn at Macau using annual reward night from Chase CC and point, Conrad Bali with point and cash. Using airbnb at Taiwan. I will switch all to Hyatt if I can confirm upgrade from pt+ cash rate.
i have the status one below right now. i do not think i will stay more than a night or two with this status
the major benefit is it allows me, in practice, in asia, based on last
years diamond, to bring my whole family , which means five children.
second benevit is health, as it cuts a spa day pass in half, which means an incredible pool and gym that i would actually use. competitors pools look and are beautiful, but they are at one hundred degrees six months of the year, good for a soak and not for exercise.
thank you for considering me
We have booked a paid stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary in the spring. We are bringing our 1 year old son as well as my in-laws to experience Paris with us. The room upgrade and complimentary breakfast that comes with Globalist status would definitely enhance the experience!
Before we go to Paris, we have also booked a long weekend at the Grand Hyatt Washington to bring our son to all the great Smithsonian museums there as well as to see the cherry blossoms. Extra space in a hotel room with our little one will be a blessing as he’s just learned how to walk and needs room to explore!
Hi
I have a stay coming up in Maldives and this would definitely be worth it using my points to get the maximum value out of it like free breakfast and an upgrade if possible
Thank you 🙂
Didn’t qualify to keep my Diamond status so ended up with Explorist. Would love to win this.
I recently just got into a new relationship with my boyfriend from Mexico. He is not a person with a lot of money, but he has a big heart and works so hard. Over the next year, I plan on taking him to many places, including some of the Hyatt all-inclusives. Having Globalist status would make many of our adventures unique, and the suite upgrades would make for some very amazing first time experiences for someone that I really care about. I appreciate your consideration.
Hoping to use it for a family trip to London. Neither of the Hyatts are suitable for families without the suite upgrades that come with the Globalist status
I like Hyatt a lot but it’s obviously more expensive so I usually use Chase Ultimate Rewards points for stays when we do splurge on Hyatt over their competitors. The problem is that reward stays don’t count toward status. Also, I’ve attempted for a couple years running to buy Hyatt points during Daily Getaways with zero luck. It would be wonderful to experience to enjoy Globalist status for a year especially since I really do like the hotel and try to stay there as often as i can. Thanks for listening.
If I win the status, I will pay for my parents trip using points and utilize the “guest of honor” feature. I once used it at Grand Hyatt Shanghai for my parents’ stay. However, at the time, the Hyatt system did not deliver the “GUEST OF HONOR” info, so sadly they did not get the relevant benefits. I hope they can enjoy the benefits when they visit other cities in China, where features some new Hyatt properties with gorgeous views and outstanding services.
When we visit family in Seattle, the breakfast at the Olive 8 is one of the best perks of any status!
I would enjoy the globalist status with my family 🙂 the free breakfast would go a long way in reducing our costs this year A VERY long way 😀 the suite upgrades would NOT hurt either space wise 🙂 thanks gor the opportunity
Going to a summer vacation this year to Tokyo with my 5yo girl, she loves the hotel’s breakfast so much that was the only thing she remembered from her last trip (3yo in Osaka) @.@
So, yes. Breakfast (provided by the Globalist status) will make her day.
2013: big trip to Abu Dhabi, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Bali. Had to cancel due to some issues with the kiddies. (OK, full disclosure: we were coming off 2 weeks in the States — we live in Germany — followed by a two week visit from our parents to see the grandchildren. The kids were 3 and 5 at the time. It would have just been too much at the same time.) Anyway, three of our stops were to be the Park Hyatt AUH, the Grand Hyatt Bali and the Grand Hyatt KL. I had suite certificates from the older version of the Chase Hyatt card, plus some free nights and points, etc. Well, we had to cancel but now we are trying to rebuild the trip. Would love to still give those properties a try with a chance to get some better rooms, free breakfast and so forth. Sorry for the long-winded answer.
Would love to treat my parents to suites when I take them for travels in their retirement!
I have four holidays booked for the next year, so would love to be able to upgrade to suites all over the world!
I started traveling a lot in the past year and I would love to drag my dad (who grew up in the Philippines, but lives here now and has not been anywhere other than back there to visit family) with me around the world. The potential suite upgrades would be incredible because they’d allow me to sleep in the living room, as his snoring can shake buildings.
Gary, appreciate the opportunity! I’m a self employed lone world traveller and would truly value the elite status to enhance my stays. As a solo traveller the added benefits would mean a lot.
Cheers!
James
Are you kidding me?! I had Hyatt Diamond in 2014 from what I learned from your blog for the Hyatt Diamond challenge back then. I then got the Chase Hyatt credit card for both my wife and myself to secure two nights each and we used them at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome for what turned out to be a once in a lifetime trip to France. We were not able to get a suite upgrade in Paris but had the fantastic breakfast there with the Diamond status comp. And we did score the suite upgrade at the Hyatt Regency Nice for the second part of that trip. This was our first serious venture into the world of points and miles that I learned from your heplful and interesting blogs. Been following it ever since. Unfortunately, I don’t travel enough to keep or earn again Hyatt Diamond or now Globalist status. But I would love to have Globalist to use for Park Hyatt Tokyo, my next dream trip!
I love Hyatt. I have stayed at a few Hyatt hotels at the end of last year and would love to repeat that!
You can check my blog for some reviews…
Thank you!
It would be great if you would give the status to me. thank you!
LOVE TO GET IT HAVE MANY RESERVATIONS WITH HYATT
We are planning to travel to Hong Kong, Taiwan’ and Japan for two weeks. It would be great to have the status to get a suite upgrade for each stay! Also free breakfast would be awesome! All Hyatt properties look awesome !
I would love to have Globalist status because I am going to probably switch to Hyatt as my main program due to the spg merger probably combining programs this year .. I was diamond and love Hyatt and will for sure use it ! I Try to travel a lot and love to have top tier status when I stay !
I would love to have Globalist status because I am going to probably switch to Hyatt as my main program due to the spg merger probably combining programs this year .. Would take advantage of the fantastic benefits of Globalist tier.
First a trip to the Andaz in Napa, and getting a room upgrade and enjoying for free one of the best breakfasts I’ve had.
Then a trip to the Andaz in Maui, and getting a room upgrade, and use points for the stay so I can benefit from free parking and no resort fees, as both are expensive in Maui.
Gift the Guest of honor privileges to my parents and in-laws for a stay where they can treat themselves.
Planning plenty of travel next year, the status and benefits will come in handing!
It’ll convince me to stay at Hyatts more – even when there are too few in old Europe 😉
REVENGE ! ! ! Like they say revenge is a dish best served cold. I got my heart broken by an ex girlfriend after high school. She thought I wouldn’t go anywhere and was scared she would be stuck in our small town if she stayed with me. Long story short the ex is now the one stuck in our old town and every year the wife and I travel the world. We got married in Maui and now go there for our anniversary every year where we stay at the Hyatt Andaz. The Globalist status would be awesome treat for our next trip to Maui which is coming up towards the end of April. Free breakfast and no resort fees are always a nice treat.
Going to tokyo in october and would enjoy a suite upgrade 😀
I would use it for my mum and me, as I am planning to take her for a birthday trip through (South) East Asia for her 60th Birthday in autumn. Having the chance to stay with the Globalist Status in the properties in Singapore, Bangkok, Hongkong and Tokio getting suites we could never afford to stay in would be more than awsome.
Hi Gary, long time reader here – love your blog! We’re staying at several Hyatts during our travels the coming year and Globalist would make the experience a lot more enjoyble than it already is!
Plan on a year of surprise trips for my Wife, who is taking some much deserved time off
Spending our honeymoon by touring the world for 2months, can’t think of a better way to surprise my wife with all the perks Hyatt globalist will bring and the smile on her face when she walks into a suite. Will be sure to send a couple of happy photos along the way!
I would like to treat my family on our trip to South-East Asia this summer for a little better accommodation than usual.
Thank you for the chance!
Hey Gary, i think you should check if the story of the the cancer commenter checks out and give it to them for traveling. If not i’d be happy to use it myself 🙂 Planning a rtw and this would certainly mean some nice suite upgrades i wouldn’t afford otherwise. Thanks.
My wife and I are taking our honeymoon in May/June and are doing a Hyatt tour of southeast Asia. A few breakfasts and upgrades would really make the experience that much more amazing. Thanks!
I would very greatly appreciate the status as I successfully completed a Hyatt Diamond Challenge and 3 weeks prior to conversion to Globalist, Hyatt decided to rescind my offer even after giving them my money and completing the requirements of my challenge. They offered a measly 15k points for the inconvience.
I like to invite my family for travelling. And upgrade with the with be simply amazing. And of course, I share and blog about my experiences with Hyatt =)
A stay at Park Hyatt Tokyo with a good breakfast and a night in a suite
I have – honestly – never set foot in a Hyatt Hotel before. My HHonors Gold and Club Carlson Gold memberships always point me towards their properties. I’d love to win this and give Hyatt a Chance
If busy is the new stupid, then is the antidote.
If busy is the new stupid, then status is the antidote.
My wife and I are expecting our first child. Larger rooms (via suite upgrades), free breakfast for the little one + mom & dad, along with lounge access for snacks along the way will come in mighty handy and much appreciated.
Having the status will definitely change my travel plans from other brands back to Hyatt.
Since I have been living thousands of miles away from my mother, and she’s getting old and can’t travel much, I am planning to spend as much time as possible with her this year by taking her to a Hyatt trip in Indonesia, where she now lives for retirement. The complimentary suite upgrade and access to club lounge would certainly be a treat and a nice memory which she would cherish forever. I owe it to her.
Would be great for the upcoming summer vacation with the family of 4 to have enough space and some extra perks for the kids.
We have 3 nights coming up at this month at grand cypress Orlando – with 4 kids. Diamond status would be well used in this trip. The breakfast, resort fee waiver, parking, extra space…
Each Hyatt property has an individual character and the Globalist status enable you to explore and enjoy these properties around the world at a highest level. LOVE IT!
I’d say I’d benefit from Hyatt Globalist, because I’m able to give Hyatt a try in Europe. While there are not too many properties, the quality generally is top-notch. That’s especially true for Germany, where even a Hyatt Regency (e.g. Duesseldorf) sometimes is better than a GH in the US. Plus, I can’t wait to give Hyatt Globalist a try in Asia. The upgrades and treatment for Globalists must be amazing there…
My husband and I are planning several trips this year, including San Francisco and Vietnam/Cambodia. We are planning to use our free night certificates on one of those trips and the free breakfast and upgrades would definitely come in handy. In general I prefer to stay at Hyatt hotels, although my status with Marriott and Hilton get me free breakfast (among other things) which is a great perk.
My wife and I have 2 nights booked at Park Hyatt New York in April for our anniversary using Chase free night certs. Would love to make it even more special by having free breakfast and late checkout. Why not feel a little more special on your anniversary.
Treat my family to a suite and free breakfast while we visit our sick grandpa in LA in April.
It’s going to be hard to “compete” with aging mothers and nursing babies; how will the person who is doing the choosing for you ever make a decision? My story/plan is very simple — now that my husband and I have retired and we have been fortunate enough to “taste” Grand Hyatts in Honolulu and Bangkok, I would search for the best four (4) redemptions in the Hyatt network where I could apply the upgrades and plan four (4) 1-week vacations around those properties. I just think that would be a super-fun approach to vacation planning!
Funny at the lies people tell to try and win. I never win anything so no need to lie 🙂
I would use the Hyatt Globalist status to send my parents to the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome or the Park Hyatt Vienna. We traveled together last year to the Park Hyatt Vienna for the Christmas markets and I have such wonderful memories from that trip – to be able to experience that again with my parents would mean the world to me. My parents do so much for all their children and they really deserve to be treated to a getaway with a wonderful breakfast included. The breakfast at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome is over the top and very memorable. The Hyatt Guest of honor privileges makes that possible. I would also use the breakfast benefit and suite upgrades to go enjoy the new Park Hyatt St. Kitts that will open this year. Thank you for your consideration.
Hi Gary,
In summer, I will go on a one year sabbatical. Looking forward to use my miles and write some hotel reviews. The HYATT GLOBALIST status would definitely sweeten this adventure!
Thanks,
Alex
To enjoy the american guest service in europe and beyond with the hyatt globalist status, what a premium service to get when you a higher premium costumer you are enter the entrance hall in the hotel. I feel like a star.
I would love to get the Globalist status. I will use it for my upcoming travel needs. Upgrades and club lounge will be a huge perk for a family of five with small children, Especially when we spend most of our time in hotel.
I would love to win the Hyatt Globalist Status because we already booked the Park Hyatt Maledives on points for our upcoming Honeymoon. The status would give us free breakfast.
Hi Gary
A stay at Hyatt New York in May with a good breakfast and a hot night in a suite with my girl!!
Regard
After 12 years of marriage my wife and I finally plan to travel without the kids to South America.
There are some great hyatt hotels I have been eyeballing as options to use my chase rewards. Grand Hyatt in Rio and the Park Hyatt Mendoza are two of them.
Elite status would make this trip even more memorable.
Gary, long time reader. Not going to lie, I love free stuff. But more importantly, I’ve never stayed in a Hyatt before! So this would be a chance to try one. Thanks!
Would love to return to status with Hyatt lost due to job/health/travel limitation for almost two years. Will benefit friends and family with 55+ stays and both domestic and international travel. Will change two vacations and several business trips already booked to go Hyatt. Generous offer, terrific benefit
As someone who travels a ton for work (enough to earn Explorist status but just short of Diamond/Globalist), but who doesn’t get reimbursed for meals on the road, having Globalist status with breakfast perks would help me save a lot of money — as well as time spent hunting for cheap/good breakfasts!
Recently switched jobs that will require me to travel more, so would love the Globaist benefits as I’ve been looking to switch away from Hilton for a while. Additionally, my wife and I are planning to take a multi-week trip throughout Southeast Asia in May, and suite upgrades would be the perfect way to add more enjoyment to our vacation (and also get my wife on board with the credit card game)!
HI! What an opportunity! My family is in the throws of the college application process. We have a senior who just applied to college and a sophomore who will be looking at schools starting this summer. There are so many wonderful Hyatt properties around the country. Hyatt Globalist status will allow us to make the college tours more bearable for the entire family. And free breakfast and parking will definitely help to lower our costs! Finally, we are hoping to take the whole family to Hawaii as a graduation present for the two girls next summer (I’ve been saving up for the trip for two year and hoping to pay little to nothing with Chase Ultimate Rewards!). Hyatt Globalist status will certainly make our stays at Hyatt properties in Hawaii that much nicer. Thank you for your consideration.
Booking my first solo trip to Europe, all the globalist perks would definitely improve my overall experience while I’m there for a month!
Hi there! As a travel junky on my private budget I would love to enjoy those expensive but lovely Hyatt nights a little bit more – with some munchies and bubbles in the club lounge and with a better view from a nicer room…
#justdreaming 🙂
Thanks for the opportunity.
Hi Gary,
I’d love to have the Globalist benefit as my wife and I (and 13 month old), have recently committed to traveling more, within the United States and around the world. We’d like to see the world and would like show it to our little one. We are ultimate reward loyalists, therefore often transfer to Hyatt. The upgrades would be great, and the check in/check out would be beneficial for our family for flexibility. Additionally, free breakfast would help to save the bank for the three of us!
The awesome breakfast while on family vacations, that alone is worth it for me.
Okay, while I would not get the absolute best/most use out of the Globalist status if I won it, I would appreciate it more than most would. I do not get to travel nearly as much as I’d like to as my work does not involve travel.
That said, this year is my 20th wedding anniversary and I’m going to travel a few times with my wife. I was matched to Diamond a while back and was able to use it a couple times and the treatment we received was truly memorable, very nice room upgrades, club lounge and all. My wife was quite impressed as we’re just not used to that. She was surprised to say the least and still talks about it as her favorite trip we’ve done. (Sadly in 20 years we’ve only done two real vacations so the list is not long and it’s easy to get to the top)
Why do I want the Globalist status? To impress my wife and show her a good time at nice hotels. Seems silly to some, but I’m not wealthy and will never, ever attain this status on my own. I have points for several free nights so no cost to me there. Status would be icing on the top.
Turning in my two weeks notice next week, new job being accepted. More time off as a big perk along with more money, so hopefully more travel in our future!
Having Globalist status would allow me to treat my parents to the kind of high end hotel experience they don’t even know exists. They are aretired, blue collar couple from the heart of the Midwest that haven’t had the opportunity to travel and see the world, much less experience any kind of luxury. Raising six kids, they never had a chance to even dream about those things. Nothing would give me more satisfaction than to be able to give back!
It wouldn’t be life changing but it sure would make my travels much more fun. I think that why we call it the miles and points game. This is supposed to be fun!
Checking in to a really nice room after being delayed and forced to sit in a middle seat in the back sure has a way of easing the pain.
I am planning for a vacation in Hawaii for my family. Having Globalist status will give us either lounge access or breakfast which is usually very expensive in hotels in Hawaii.
Just lost Diamond, so this would be most welcome
Off to India with their plethora of Hyatts, including Park Hyatt Chennai.
I will be in Vienna this summer. This would certainly make me choose the Park Hyatt Vienna as my place to stay during this visit. I also am at the Hyatt Regency MCO frequently. My life would get much better.
My wife and I are recently retired and are planning a Big Retirement Celebration Vacation Trip to Hawaii for later this year. Neither of us have ever been to Hawaii before. We both got the Hyatt Visa Cards, met the required spends, and received our two free nights each at any Hyatt in the world.
We plan to use the four free nights at the Grand Hyatt Kauai, which I’m told is many people’s favorite Hyatt or even favorite hotel period. Globalist Status would take our experience to an even higher level. It would be a level of luxury we are not accustomed to and would never be able to afford or attain through the ordinary method of many paid stays. A room upgrade and club lounge access which comes with Globalist Status especially would be fantastic!
It would give me another year of diamond status because I won’t requalify this year due to the higher requirements. I’m a 40-45 night guy who’s wife is already thinking leaving me because I won’t requalify. Ha. She loves Hyatt that much. So please save my marriage!
I would get the best use of your Globalist giveaway, here are a few reasons why.. I live in Switzerland and would love to frequent the Park Hyatt Zurich more often but with no benefits is just not worth it, being a Globalist would give me the great Swiss breakfast buffet and would defiantly get treated much better then with no status.
Also I have been lucky enough to have been the guest of honor many time through family, but can’t always be using there points while i traveling the world with my girlfriend.
And here’s the big reason why to pick me, I plan to ask my girlfriend to marry me soon and would love to do this at an aspirational Hyatt property. And being a Globalist would make this much easier since most properties are more supportive with such special occasions.
And then comes the honeymoon, so many more ways to use this throughout the world, as a true Globalist.
And pls don’t tell my girlfriend. Thank you
I will lose all status this year due to less travel so this would help fill the gap until next year.
Doesn’t look like too easy a choice given all the retirements, new babies, and honeymoons going on!
My fiance’ and I will also be taking the leap next month and then heading out on our honeymoon to Paris, London, and Lisbon. Later in the fall we will be off to the Philippines to meet my (newly acquired) extended family! We are both avid travelers and fortunate enough to be able to do so, but we don’t do so enough that we are ever likely to earn top tier status the hard way. We aren’t in dire need of Globalist by any means, but it would make for one exceptional enhancement to what will already be a great year of traveling! I’ve been meaning to try that room-service breakfast that Gary boasted about at the Park Hyatt Vendome…
Don’t be just be a traveler, be a Hyatt traveler. There was that pool in Park Hyatt Dubai that makes you forget that you are traveling — that you are on holiday! There were the in-room breakfast that makes you feel at home. Or even in places of less fancy, the warm breakfast welcomes you. Make staying at a Hyatt an experience in of itself!
I’m going to Sydney with my wife and hopefully going to take the family to Hawaii and the club access would be a great benefit for those trips.
My folks have done little to no traveling and now that they’re both retired, I’d like to take (and accompany) them on a tour of their bucket list destinations. Fortunately, I have ample airline miles and would love to enhance their once-in-lifetime experiences with the benefits of your generous giveaway!
I travel fairly frequently as a mileage runner and a worldschooler. Because of worldschooling I am often staying in hotels with my 3 children. In the past, we have had some lovely stays (Hyatt Bonita Springs, Grand Hyatt Singapore) in some wonderful suites and the extra space was much appreciated. As my older kids will be heading off to college soon, these are some of our last years together and I would love the opportunity to continue staying in some of the wonderful Hyatt properties that we have yet to experience (Hyatt Papagayo, Park Hyatt Sydney and Park Hyatt Vendome are just some of the possibilities we have read so much about).
More enjoyable trips with friends and family.
Taking my wife on a belated honeymoon to the Park Hyatt Maldives in April. I know she would appreciate the (likely) upgrade to the plunge pool for the nights that I wasn’t upgrading to overwater (was going to upgrade for two of our nights) , and I wouldn’t mind free breakfast 🙂
I’m also taking my family (parents + sisters and their partners) to Russia this summer. I was planning on burning points and having us all stay at the Park Hyatt when in Moscow. It would be pretty fantastic if we would all be treated as top tier elites. I’m only lower-middle tier.
And if I ended up with globalist status, I’d plan a vacation to Argentina at the end of this year. Was aiming for such a trip to be in 2018, but would definitely move that up and stay at the Park Hyatt in BA, as it’s a hotel I’d been wanting to visit for awhile.
I have planned an around the world trip to celebrate my finishing my master’s program, booked almost entirely with points and miles. We will be staying at the Park Hyatt Vienna, Park Hyatt Tokyo and Hyatt Regency Kyoto among others. Having Globalist status sure would make for one heck of a trip upgrade!
I am going to go to California with my family this summer. This means many hotel nights, so the perks coming with the Hyatt status would be more than welcome.
I am a normal member and stayed twice at Hyatt and I didn’t explore Globalist benefits before and I have saw the benefits now only. I would like to use this benefit for my upcoming travel if I receive Globalist Tier.
I will be going to France and Italy this year. Free breakfast in Park Hyatt Milan and Park Hyatt Paris will be very helpful.
Sadly, my wife and I never had kids. We were pregnant but had a miscarriage. We are now beyond childbearing years, so we consider ourselves free-agent parents. We look for kids – usually teenagers who haven’t gotten to travel – and take them with us for a trip they’ll always remember. For Christmas this past year we took a young lady, from a family with 13 kids, to NY. We promise that this gift – if we were to receive it – would be used for many more trips like this. Virtually none of the ones we’ve taken so far have stayed in a high-end hotel. And we try to make each trip extra special. Globalist would afford us the ability to really go all out and give them an experience they’ll never forget.
A suite and free breakfast is the best when traveling with a family of four. Makes a big diff in the overall enjoyment of a trip. Headed to NYC for Memorial Day weekend, this would be an awesome addition with the kids!
I would love to share all the benefits of Diamond/Globalist status with my husband and two children at the Park Hyatt Maldives. This hotel looks absolutely incredible…. and the possibility of an upgrade plus free breakfast would be over the top. I’mprobably just dreaming….
Save on breakfast stays at your favorite resort. Park Hyatt Maldives.
I would really like the breakfast benefit and lounge benefit for my family. When we travel, it is a huge blessing to be able to have breakfast at the hotel before going out to explore with the kids. It is also nice being able to get water/drinks from the lounge throughout the day!
I would give this to my wife who is retiring this year and have her pick where to use the Hyatt benefits! Hopefully Europe and Asia!!
I love lounges, so access would be great!
Globalist status would be wonderful. I’m trying to convince my wife to go to Paris this summer (I know, weird, huh having to “convince” her to go to Paris). It’s our 6th wedding anniversary and she is reluctant to leave our three kids. Globalist status perks like the amazing breakfast at the Park Hyatt Paris might be the push that is needed. Also, our whole family could use the status for free breakfast and free parking for quick over night trips to the Park Hyatt Chicago.
My wife and I love Hyatts so much we try to always stay there when we can. We did a phenomenal trip for our honeymoon that included stays at the PH Dubai, PH Maldives, PH Siem Read and GH Hong Kong (on points!). I am secretly trying to plan a 2nd honeymoon and having Globalist would make it extra special would be a dream!
Traveling over a 125 nights per year, having this status would allow to pick Hyatts over other properties (where I go, there are many usually.). The biggest benefit would be the breakfast and upgrade benefits, which eould allow me more comfort and ability to work easier while on the road. Additionally, the late checkout would come in handy on about 80% of my stays!
I have learned to travel for free and see the world because of your site. I thank you for that. A top tier status would just be icing on the cake for the valuable information you provide to your readers. I would love the benefits just like anyone else would. Making traveling a little more fun and cushy.
Thanks for all the hard work over the years!
My family would love to have Globalist status for a trip we are taking to the Hyatt Regency Maui early next year! My husband Ryan and I area taking our children, Eric (who will be 5) and Spencer (who will be 2). We are also taking my parents and in-laws. This will be a once in a lifetime trip for all of us, but especially my in-laws, who have never been to Hawaii or taken a vacation with my kids and don’t do much traveling. Obviously, this trip is going to get expensive quickly and it would be amazing for everyone to have access to the club lounge for breakfast, snacks and drinks. I know it usually also comes with staying on a high floor, which would also be appreciated by everyone. I would also use it (along with a big smile) to try to get an upgraded room for our family, since sleeping in the immediate vicinity of a two year old who goes to bed by 8 and repeatedly yells “ball!” and “Pop Pop!” when he wakes up in the middle of the night is pretty rough. We would also enjoy the free parking, since we will probably be renting two cars. All in all, it would really make once in a lifetime vacation for our extended family extra special.
This would be a perfect gift for our wedding anniversary coming up this summer.
I have been dreaming of Hyatt elite membership. I’ve never been one and my wife is so looking forward to this!!!!
Hey Gary,
I’m planning an arould the world trip with my girl-friend at then end of the year after we have finished our studies. As Globalist, the choice of hotels would be obvious and make this trip even more promising!
I travel alot for work but not always enough to get a status level to take advantage of the perks. More often than not I’m required to stay at properties that don’t even have rooms that i could be upgraded to because of cost. I would love to stay at a higher end property and book the cheapest room knowing that i could get upgraded to a suite and really enjoy my stays.
Hi there, I happen to be taking my mother on two trips for 2018: to Australia and Vienna/Paris. Having Globalist status would mean upgrades and free breakfasts–and likely even better service and responsiveness–for us at the Park Hyatts in Sydney, Vienna, and Paris. That could truly make the trip more special and less expensive for us, indeed! (Those stays are using Hyatt Visa credit card free nights as well as points for award stays.)
I also happen to travel for work and leisure around work, with plans for stays at the Park Hyatts Aviara (an hour or so from our house) in March, Washington, DC over Easter, and New York in June (award point stays). I also have work stays at several Andaz and Grand Hyatt/Hyatt properties. With so many Hyatt stays, the elite status really would go a long way in saving me money on breakfasts and the chance for more comfortable upgrades when my husband joins me.
I’ve never had a year with as many Hyatt stats due to the locations where I’ll be traveling; I’m usually quite the SPG loyalist, though I’d been Hyatt Diamond many years ago when my travel overlapped more Hyatt destinations. This year, more than any in recent memory, will be the first where I make such a big return to Hyatt’s best properties.
Having the new Globalist status would both be if enormlus benefit to me, my mother, and my husband, but would also give me the chance to truly evaluate the pros and cons of Hyatt Globalist status versus my 3+ years with SPG Platinum Ambassador level status (and now Marriott Platinum status). As someone who reviews and comments quite frequently on FlyerTalk about such topics, I would be in an excellent position to post my throughts and experinces that could help so many others, as well.
Thanks for the opportunity!
I’m retired and would enjoy top-tier benefits when I travel and stay at Hyatt. I’ve never had the experience without my son present. Thanks for the contest.
Hello Gary! Thanks for th eopportunity for one of us to win! I would definitely use the benefits ( breakfast!) when travelling with my family to help stretch our vacation dollars. It would make a big difference for us! We have a few Hyatt stays coming up this year and this status would add to the quality of our time together. Thanks a bunch!
I haven’t been able to travel as much in recent years as I would have liked, due to my father’s passing two years ago and my mom needing steady care for her Alzheimer’s that had progressed to the point of needing ’round the clock care. She passed peacefully on President’s Day, and on March 2nd I had my milestone 60th birthday. All of this lined up as sort of a perfect storm for me to finally do some global traveling to make up for lost time, celebrate life, and reflect on the past few years as well as the years to come. It would make that travel a lot more special across the board, and I’d be eternally grateful to you and Hyatt for the privilege. Thanks for the opportunity!
I’ve been dealing with illness for 8 years, and would absolutely love to be able to get away for a weekend here and there to chill out in style and de-stress from the rigors of trying to juggle a job while dealing with chronic illness.
This is super generous of you, and I think it’s awesome that you’re doing this!
It would be useful as i have stays coming up for my vacation.
Winning the Globalist status would mean so much to many. My needs for the status are no better than the next person, but I would really enjoy using the additional perks, especially after dealing with a back/hip issue that has been plaguing me for 4 1/2 years. My husband doesn’t travel (at all really), but once in a blue moon when he might actually go with me (our last vacation together was in 2006) I would like to show him how much he means to me, for taking care of me for these tough 4 years and being our sole provider for almost 3 years.
I collect a million or more miles through my business spending each year. I only spend them on travel and earning this many miles means that I can spend them on my friends and my family too. For my mom’s 60th I took her to Hong Kong in first class on JAL and we stayed in a Hyatt there that I used my Chase points to book. I have never had Hyatt status in my life but would absolutely make use of it. For valentine’s day this year I sent my business partner and his wife to Rome in first class on Lufthansa for the week and would have loved to have been able to hook them up with a good hotel there but alas I have no status with Hyatt to have done so. Every year at my company holiday party I give away a round trip domestic ticket for a spouse and and employee but have been unable to make a hotel stay part of the giveaway – but i would love to change that.
Finally this summer my dad turns 60 and I can’t leave him out of the travel. I want to take him to Singapore or Australia in first class on Singapore Airlines and I want to make it memorable which is why I am inviting my busy brother to join us. How awesome would it be to make sure we got a suite and enjoyed our time overseas?
Thank you!
I guess the status would definitely encourage me to stay at the great Hyatt Hotels. Until now I booked SPG-Hotel only.
Last year I had only used 1 of my suite night award, hopefully this year I will make use of the 4 I earned. If I won, maybe I will try to stay at Hyatt more often.
Just lost Diamond, so this would allow me to collect many more suite experiences
After receiving some unsettling health news I decided to ramp things up and make the most of my travel opportunities thanks to this hobby and a major part of this was maximizing my matched Hyatt Diamond status which just expired. And it has been great. My suite upgrade at the Park Hyatt New York was bigger than my former one-bedroom NY apartment plus it had a view of Carnegie Hall. The Andaz Savannah was also a treat. And those were just the main highlights. I will really miss being a Diamond-Globalist but I intend to make the most of Explorist
Dear Gary,
I travel a lot for a non-profit organization, too much, and this comes with more points that I can use. For a while now I use guest of honor privileges to redeem my points for those unique local individuals that work with us on the ground to support our health programs … just for one very special night. It is a the kind of gift that provides me with more joy than any free suite upgrade/Lounge or food allowance would ever give me in any hotel, even a Hyatt. Am now only Explorist for 2017/18 so this would help.
Thanks!
I’m a former airline pilot currently working for a corporate flight department. Our company donates use of our aircraft for sick children and their parents to use as time criticicl transportation through the Angel Flight network. As our way of attempting to match our company’s generosity, we try to donate enough points to each family to cover the stay at their destination while their child receives treatment. Globalist status will go a along way toward helping us provide accommodation and food (via lounge access) for these folks that we work with.
By awarding me Globalist status, you would greatly improve my family relationships by giving me a little “street cred” with my teenager son. Believe it or not, having these perks might make me a “cool” person with him–an almost impossible feat.
We don’t get to travel for pleasure very often at all, so when I travel for business (which is pretty often) I always try to have my son come with me. He attends online high school (is a straight-A student and a member of the National Honor Society, and yes I brag), so his schedule mostly allows for travel. We always try to stay at Hyatt hotels, and have stayed at Hyatt House on two occasions recently. I walked in on him telling a friend the other day that the Hyatt House in Dallas was one of the best hotels he’s ever seen (and, thanks to my business travel, he’s seen quite a few top-tier hotels in his young life). He was impressed with the free food in the lobby (of course this was vitally important–he is a teenage boy, after all) and the outdoor sports court. He told his friend it was like having his own apartment because there was a living area and a full kitchen where he could stash extra food for later, and he had his own bedroom and bathroom. He said he barely even knew I was there (which I suspect was the STRONGEST factor in his very pleasant stay). He said Hyatt has the best hotels ever.
I would love to let Hyatt impress him even more, and Globalist status would certainly achieve that goal. It might not make me cool enough for him to actually CALL me a cool mom, but he might stop asking me to try NOT to hang around too much when his friends are over. He’s a great kid, but I am apparently (so far) REALLY UNcool. Please help me! : )
I’m Diamond on Delta but haven’t locked into a hotel program. Hyatt makes sense for me as their locations are where I go. That’s an unusual statement for sure as they are more limited than some properties. I love their service and consider all of their properties top tier. They get it.
Incidentally, the Pritzker family (owners of Hyatt) lived next door to me. Maybe that is why I have a soft spot in my heart for them. Staying with Hyatt is like being a part of the family. If I couldn’t find my kids, they would often be under a Pritzker bed playing with a cat. Going to Hyatt is like coming home.
I would love to visit new Park Hyatt Bangkok and use these benefits to stay Park Hyatt Syeney
I am planning for a vacation in Hawaii for my family. Having Globalist status will give us either lounge access or breakfast which is usually very expensive in hotels in Hawaii.
Earning elite status in most parts of Asia is pretty challenging, as there are no co-branded hotel cards, Hyatt elite status is a little harder with a smaller footprint. I had been able to maximise status matches in the past to obtain Hyatt Diamond status, so the key was to have my family members enjoy a taste of the great tier benefits, an amazing stay with family members at Hyatt Regency Etoile on a unbelievalbe room rate last year (courtesy of VFTW alert on the rate!) with a view of the Eiffel Tower and Arc, to suite upgrades to celebrate my 2 daughters’ birthday. Globalist status is almost impossible to earn for me without significant business travel opportunities, this gift will be very welcome in extending the benefits and sharing with others
Hi Gary,
I co-founded a charity as a teenager back in 1999 that helps to improve education systems and increase youth employment around the world (schools in 153 countries have signed up for our programs)
While many international development grants allow a generous per diem, we always try to spend as little as needed during our travels and redirect as much as possible to the projects we run. I’ve learned a lot from your blog about maximizing points and last year we saved a lot of money by optimizing our points usage – for 2017 I even lost my Star Alliance Gold status for the first time in 12 years because I used points for so many trips!
In addition to the perk of being able to save money on breakfast during my travels (and being able to host partners and volunteers in an occasional suite or club lounge), we host many guests and volunteers at the Hyatt near our offices and the unique Guest of Honor benefit will allow us to save money and enjoy breakfast meetings during their stays!
Thank you very much for considering my entry, and thanks for Hyatt for the generous gift opportunity!
Michael
My little sister is going to university this year, I am hoping to travel with her in the summer and during school holidays and share with her more of the world that I have seen that she hasn’t had a chance to experience yet. It’s time for her to see the world!
Having a 14 month old and access to breakfast options while traveling on the road is vital, eapecially without having a reliable refrigerator in most hotel rooms. Toddlers wake up starving after sleeping 12 hours and being on the road without great food options makes vacation tough!
I had elite status from Hyatt, as well as other hotels and airlines. But due to a life-threatening cancer, and the resulting medical procedures to stem the aggressive cancer (including stem cell transplant, further hospitalization, chemotherapy and related treatments), I was unable to do my usual traveling for a couple years. Now I have just been cleared by my oncologist for travel, I would love to have the perks of Hyatt elite status to make my travel more comfortable and doable for my wife and me. Before the cancer diagnosis, I stayed at Hyatts worldwide — my favorites were the Park Hyatt in Shanghai, which was then the world’s tallest hotel, and the Park Hyatt in Sydney. I would like to resume going to Hyatts in comfort of Globalist status for whatever remaining time I have before an inevitable relapse that would preclude my ability to travel abroad.
Thanks for the opportunity Gary! I’m so excited about my upcoming trip to South Africa to visit my family whom I haven’t seen for over 2 years and my parents are over 80 now. Points and miles make it a lot easier to visit!
We have a stop-over at the PH Dubai (that gorgeous pool made me fall in love with that hotel) and a night at the PH Milan. It would be so exciting to have the chance to get Suite upgrades. After those long flights to South Africa I’m going to need a wonderful night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast to keep up with my sweetie on our 20 hour lay-over in Milan. (Haha! He’s 5 years younger than me, this girl’s got to keep going)
I’ve been fighting an autoimmune disease for several years, and have been mostly on bed rest–working a few days and going straight back to bed. I would love to start to take some weekends away, and start enjoying life again. It would be momentous to celebrate getting through this.
As a new Hyatt Globalist elite member I would like to become Hyatt’s Evangelist explaining & promoting Hyatt’s new loyalty program and promoting the Hyatt Brand. Hyatt is my favorite hotel chain and would love the opportunity to express my passion and love for the Hyatt brand to all of my coworkers, colleagues, business partners and associates, family and friends.
My husband and I are retiring soon – winning this would make our bucket list travels more enjoyable! We figure that the possible cuts to social security and Medicare in the future will cut into our travel budget. 🙁
I would benefit from an upcoming stay I have booked at the Park Hatt Tokyo.
The gift of Globalist will encourage me to commit for the 60 nights needed to retain the status going forward. I look forward to a lasting relationship with Hyatt.
I would milk it for everything it’s worth and then some. I’m not wealthy by any means (government job), but I travel well. It takes a lot of time and careful planning, but the dividends in the form of memories are so worth it. It’s become more difficult to travel, however, because my wife for some strange reason wants our three children to start traveling with us. That means I have to find creative ways to to stretch the value of my points and miles. So how would I maximize Hyatt globalist status? Simple. Free breakfast. I want to take my family to Costa Rica and stay at the Andaz Papagayo. The hotel is a sweet spot in the Hyatt program for sure, but have you seen the food prices? Good grief. My children consume obscene amounts of food. So anything I can do to put a dent in the food bill would be awesome!
In all seriousness, I could not travel the way I do without the information I get from this blog and others like it. Thank you.
Winning this would make my year. Hyatt is my favorite chain of hotels and while I truly enjoyed their Diamond tier last year, I’ve dropped levels and miss the free suite upgrades, the breakfast and late checkout benefits. I have a few Hyatt stays coming up and would love to try the concierge, free upgrades at check in and also enjoy my MGM gold status for the Las Vegas trip. Honestly, this is an awesome giveaway and would love to win.
Me and the wifey would love the status upgrade. We’re traveling the world one long weekend at a time and what a great way to put this use.
Thanks
J
Globalist status would be great for our upcoming stay at the Park Hyatt Saigon.
Globalist status would mean feeling like a VIP on my remaining bucket list trips. I have inoperable/incurable lung cancer and still have South Africa, Venice, Maui and Niagra Falls to scratch off (Bali in June). In conjunction with my priority pass airport lounge benefit (Sapphire Reserve Card), I’d really feel like a Very Important Person during all of my travels and would be forever grateful for this remarkable gift.
I would love a hotel elite status that pairs nicely with my AA EXP status. Semi sweet please as it would juxtapose nicely with the dry benefits that come with EXP.
Thank you
This would be great for the romantic Paris vacation I’m taking with my girlfriend in May. We’ll be staying at the Park Hyatt Vendome which will already be by far the fanciest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. It would be sweet to make it even fancier.
Globalist status will help me to be able to upgrade on my week long trip to Hawaii
I’m a huge fan of the Hyatt brand especially their Park Hyatt and Andaz properties. I’ll be at the new Park Hyatt Bangkok in May and can’t wait to see what Yabu Pushelberg have done. Having been a Diamond member in the past I appreciate the graciousness of the added perks. But mostly I’d like to gift my sister the Guest of Honor status for her first overseas trip this fall to Paris.
And March 7th just happens to be MY birthday!
We and our toddler 3 year old are staying at Andaz at Papagayo and a few other hyatt properties ( Calgary, Montego bay, Dubai, San antonio and Hawaii next year Feb)throughout the year. We end up ordering breakfast no matter how expensive because of our son , at the hotel itself. So the globalist status would put a good dent on our food expenses not to mention more space for our happy toddler to be happier in.
Never really had status with a hotel chain so having one sounds incredible!! Would love to visit the executive lounges, a suite that I’ve never experienced as of yet. Will truly change travel for me.
Yes Sir!
My Hyatt calendar is filling up this year, including two separate week long stays at Hyatt Regency Orlando for conferences, a week at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver for my wife’s birthday, and to top it all off, four nights at the Park Hyatt Tokyo in May.
I would absolutely get a lot of use out of use out of Hyatt status this year.
Planning to travel to Maldives in Jan 2018 and it would be great to have access to the lounge and free breakfast coming with the status.
Thanks!
I’ll leverage the status to obtain a larger room and access to club lounge for my family and a few relatives at an upcoming family wedding in Louisville. Plus will ease the pain of my lost Diamond status 🙂
I’m planning to stay at Park Hyatt Paris and I’m looking forward to ordering the breakfast benefit 🙂
I would most like the Globalist status in order to have room service breakfast and a possible suite upgrade at the Park Hyatt Vienna for our 10th wedding anniversary.
I would love the status for my upcoming stay at Park Hyatt Vendome
I’m writing this from the Park Hyatt Chicago, and I’ve always dreamed of what it’d be like to have true top-tier hotel status. Here’s hoping this is the chance!
I’m moving with my family to. Uzbekistan for two years and would love to use this status whenever we take a vacation.
I would benefit because I am staying I 5 park hyatts this year and they do not have clubs , so I would get the very expensive breakfast for my wife and I
No sob story here. I do travel a lot for work , but the hotel choices are rarely mine , so I am lowest tier at about 4 chains, including Hyatt.
Would love to be able to take family along with me on a business trip and see what it is like to have top tier status at hotel , including a suite upgrade and breakfast. Even better if we could swing an actual vacation
We want to instill the travel bug in our kids and travel around the world while staying at beautiful Hyatt resorts.
Upgrades to suites this summer in Europe would make our trip unforgettable.
I’ll be traveling heavily to Puerto Rico and Tanzania as we develop renewable energy and green building projects there this year. Those trips can be pretty tough, but at least I know I can always rejuvenate at the Hyatt! I’d use this to whittle down the [considerable] daily hassle factor that inevitably rears its head during projects like these…
trying to convince my girlfriend to get into the points game. unfortunately she hasn’t been able to go on many trips with me. been dating for a year we’re finally taking an intl trip together to argentina. the park hyatt looks lovely there. would love for her to see what you can earn with hotels
Free.breakfast and suite upgrades would make our family trips so memorable.
I would use the status to try out some great Hyatt properties. I have top elite status with IHG and Hilton but really want to move my business to Hyatt. Tough to start at the bottom. By being able to use the Globalist status I would really be able to compare and plan my 2018 Loyalty for my 100+ nights a year
Every eve my wife and I must abstain from food while we slumber. In short, we fast. And when we bed down for the night at Hilton properties we are able to break our fast the next morning and feast on the finest scrambled eggs and bacon a mid-tier full service hotel has to offer. Alas, when we avail ourselves of Hyatt’s hospitality, there is no way to have “breakfast” and verily our bellies ache for ours until the midday meal.
I beseech you, Gary! Deliver me from my pitiful Discoverist status and allow my wife and I to break our fast at the Park Hyatt Vienna this summer!
Would love to whip it out when I check-in at the Park Hyatt Vendome this summer while at the French Open!
I’m traveling with my 1 yr old daughter to the park hyatt vienna. We would love to be upgraded to a suite via Globalist status!
For family travel, we really like staying at the Hyatt Lost Pines. The suites are dated but very roomy, and as a previous Diamond, they would go the extra mile to make our stays really memorable. I once asked them to surprise us and they made gift bags for our kids and they provided a milk and cookie plate every afternoon during our stay. Access to their club lounge was so worth it since they provided an awesome breakfast, snacks throughout the afternoon, and great appetizers at night (which can be a meal in itself for the kids).
For business travel, I really enjoy my stays at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio. I’ve received multiple upgrades that was beyond the standard suites and again, their club lounge is great. If their coffee machine is not working, they’ll even give you free vouchers for the Starbucks coffee shop in their lobby.
I’m planning an all-Hyatt Mediterranean summer vacation in Nice, Cannes, and Mallorca.
I am the lucky recipient of a living kidney donation from my oldest daughter. She has since given me another gift with the birth of my first grandchild. I would like to take the opportunity of the bonus of these years of quality life to be able to travel with my family, now that I am able to. Though, there is no price you can place on a gift of an an organ that saves your life, the opportunity to use the time ahead to create lasting memories with my family is so important. I know that anything I can do to make memories with my granddaughter is so very important to me. I want to see the world through her eyes and leave her with wonderful experiences when I am gone. Winning this or not, I am already a winner in life.
I would’ve thrilled to use it for my upcoming Maui trip and would surprise my wife 🙂
I would be thrilled to use for my upcoming Maui trip.
We travel often with our kids, and would benefit from the breakfast (we are 2 adults and 2 kids) and the (possibility of) suite upgrades. Status would make it a bit easier to show our kids the world!
I’ve quit my job and travelling the world this year. I’d absolutely make full use of this status in my travels!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I’m a big believer in experiences and making sure you live life to the fullest. I try to make sure that I show that to our 4 year old and 22 month old kids. It is definitely more challenging though when you go to Europe and would need to get 2 rooms or pay for an upgrade to a suite. Having Globalist status would make this so much easier and possible! I want my kids to experience the world, its cultures and everything it has to offer. This would be one step to make it more achievable and possible!
EH and Michael F are definitely deserving of the Hyatt Globalist status, and will no doubt put it to good use. So on one hand, I would really like to see one of them win this giveaway, but I have my own selfish reason for wanting to win the status too 🙂 … I will be travelling through Japan with my son in a few weeks. We already have stays at Hyatt Regency Tokyo and Andaz Tokyo booked, but the Globalist status will give us suite upgrades and a few other perks that will make this father-son trip truly special.
Having worked like a dog for many many years I can now retire early and enjoy life a little more…
I’ve been saving my chase UR in plans for a trip around the world with my wife who has lovingly put up with the grumpy, stressed out working me for all these years.
With Top Tier Elite Hyatt status and a little View from the Wing planning help this would be the icing on the cake.
So what do ya say???
Just stayed at the Park Hyatt in Chicago twice over the past two month and enjoyed it….would like to enjoy breakfast with Hyatt Globalist staus next time and an upgrade. THANKS Gary.
We take our kids (6 &2) everywhere with us and it is a big help to have the status. Aside from the breakfast, even without a DSU, Hyatt treats us well. The 4 pm late checkout means that (as we often do)switching hotels within the same city on a trip, we won’t be homeless for several hours with kids. Same goes for when the departing flight out of our vacation destination is a late flight – we dont have to worry about entertaining the kids in the airport for hours. GoH privileges would mean I could help close friends and family enjoy some of these perks – and there’s no better feeling than that. Even without the DSUs, I’d be very happy to win this! I only fear the kids are getting spoiled/used to this!
I would go back to the Maldives and stay at the Hyatt there if I could get diamond status. Please! I never win anything.
The standard suite upgrades on space a basis!
Well, I’m going to play the pity card. My wife has stage 4 cancer, and we decided to enjoy life as much as we can while she’s still in relatively good physical shape. In about a month we will start a 3 month trip visiting Iran, Turkey, Tanzania, Greece, Italy and France. While we don’t have fixed an itinerary yet, I think I could put Globalist status to good use. We have a good stash of Ultimate Rewards points and could use those for staying at Hyatt hotels in some of those countries.
I’d love to try out Hyatt Globalist status. I travel a lot for work and am currently loyal to Marriott, but Hyatt Globalist status would be a big incentive to change.
I’m a medical student coming up on my final year. I’m applying to residencies programs soon. We have this crazy way of figuring out where students end up for their residency training. You apply to programs and interview like any normal job. But you aren’t given offers for positions at programs. Instead, you make a list ranking the programs you interviewed at and programs make a list ranking applicants they invited. Both lists are submitted to a national organization who then “matches” programs to students. And everyone finds out where they are going on the same day. So…we won’t find out all at once and its then or nothing.
So….this leads to people taking a TON of interviews and traveling throughout the country. I expect to be hopping throughout the country and staying in hotels for 15-20 interviews next year. Hyatt status would really help make me a bit more comfortable before these interviews!
My wife travels a couple times a month, and really could use a boost in status. Suite upgrades would be tremendous, and breakfast in the lounge would make life so much more comfortable for her! Maybe she would even start enjoying traveling!
First of Thank you Gary, What a generous and kind offer! I am grateful to read this today.
To share gift and possibilities of travel, to get to know other cultures and experience life is one of the greatest experiences.
I have been really depressed and sad, because I lost my airline career after over 2 decades, so no longer airline passes or first class travel or discounted hotels.
I have been reading your blog and with some great credit card sign ups we have some airline miles now. My partner has amazing credit and I signed him up. We are also very lucky that his parents got US visas and we were able to book some amazing flights thanks to your blog.
His parents have never left Morocco and because of their income and retirement they have not taken a vacation anywhere since 1974.
They were so thrilled when I told them that I would take them to Taghazout bay where there is a brand new Hyatt.
Also, it is our anniversary and my 50th birthday. If I become a Globalist, this would give us a great opportunity (it will be so amazing and we will be so grateful) to be able to get a suite upgrade and perhaps even 4 of us stay in on suite because I do not think that we can afford two rooms.
Also, the fact that we will get an amazing treatment being a Globalist and it will make my partner and my older in-laws in Morocco so proud.
They are coming to US and I want to take them to Las Vegas and Hyatts here in US in Florida nad California where we can put this Globalist status to great use.
Also, since fiances have been tough and did not do anything for my partner’s birthday (he loves his birthdays to be super special), when I am a Globalist I will plan something great for his birthday as well. Our anniversary is in May and I will plan a Hyatt vist for our 5th Anniversary as well.
The greatest joy I will get from being a Globalist is when I take my older Moroccan In-laws to the Hyatt in Taghazout bay (free breakfast and a Suite upgrade sounds amazing), just to see them smile and have fun. They have not left their small neighborhood in a low income area of
Casablanca, Morocco in years. So, if I can take them to a Hyatt and get a Suite upgrade and free breakfast they will be so thrilled.
Sorry that I wrote so much. Thanks to our miles now because of your blog, we are also planning to go to Southeast Asia together.
Having a Globalist status would mean so much to us. My partner has been in school in the US and has not taken a vacation in a while. He has been working so hard every single day from 7-5 and also full time in classes as well.
I want to have an amazing 50th birthday in June. So, being a globalist means that we can book a Hyatt Hotel that day in Europe on our way to Morocco. Then we can take my in-laws in Morocco to Taghazout bay.
Thank you so much! We will be so grateful and will be honored.
We were finally able to book our AA tickets yesterday with miles to Europe. I was hoping to find one AA systemwide upgrade to make my partner happy but I found this great news about you giving away a Globalist status. Wow, it will be so kewl.
Thank you so so so much, AlanLouganis@yahoo.com
My husband is 6″9 and my 12 year old is almost 6″. We would benefit from breakfasts because they are always hungry, and from the possible upgrades for some much appreciated elbow room!
Taking my dad to Cabo next week for a suprise birthday vacation. Globalist might just get me that suite upgrade to make it a over the top vacation
I’m planning to take my mother on a big trip this year. We are planning to go to Hong Kong, Vienna, London and New York (from Australia) and I know she’d greatly enjoy being able to have the stays that bit more comfortable. I once booked a Club room in the Grand Hyatt Melbourne and took her there for a weekend trip and she absolutely loved it. I remember how excited she was for us to get a photo together in the lounge with the city in the background and post it to her Facebook to show all her friends. Being able to stay in Hyatt’s and similarly enjoy lounge access in each of those places would be a great thrill to her.
Thanks for offering this to your readers. We have trips to Kauai and Maui planned and would love the extra perks.
I definitely make good use of this during my honeymoon in Hawaii!
Andaz Tokyo here I come!
Upcoming trip to Thailand.
Just retired at the end of last year and planning at least a trip a month. Globalist status would be awesome. Thanks
I will enjoy unlimited suite upgrades.
I Particularly love those Park Hyatt’s. Although not as numerous as some of the bigger hotel chains, they are unique and welcome in many locations. Sydney, Buenos Aires and Melbourne come to mind. Would love to have status with this brand!
The status will come handy and will be great for our upcoming anniversary trip to Paris in May!!
I retired last year and ready to travel a lot. Hyatt is one of my favorite hotel chain and having globalist status would be great. Thanks!
I’m planning a trip to Europe for my 91 (soon-to-be 92) year old grandmother’s birthday, and this would be an incredible way to give her an even better experience! I will be going with my mother, as well, so 3 of can enjoy the perks, and it will surely make this a trip to remember. I will also use it in all my own travels – Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and the Park Hyatt Tokyo are 2 hotels that come to mind, but I’ll also be in Dubai, Bangkok, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Auckland, Sydney, and bunch of other places in the next 6 months where I could really make good use of this status!
As a hardworking medical student trying to see how different medical systems around the world are. I was a former diamond but did not qualify. With your help we can make the world a healthier place if I am upgraded to suites on each and every one of my stays :)! Thanks!
I am getting married Ina couple months and would love to bounce around Europe staying at Hyatt hotels during our honeymoon!
Don’t have any card to play and there are many above that are very deserving. It would just be FUN!!!! and we all need more of that in our lives…..
Thank you.
Yes, Hyatt is my best choice and they do have amazing properties in shanghai.
I am expat in Switzerland, I travel a lot, but mostly within Europe. So far I only have status with Hilton, Marriott and SPG. All of them are fast tracks, I don’t stay enough in any of those chains, but almost always I aim to choose one of them due to status benefits. I have for long time considered to give Hyatt a try. With Globalist status I’d try to explore multiple Hyatts around the Europe, and maybe some of them in US whenever I have the next business trip there
Wow what timing! A super-sized birthday year, downsized career choice in exchange for schedule flexibility to travel, building Chase points for xfer to Hyatt, and now this opportunity to take a spin around the globe at the best of the best, in style. You’ve taught me well Gary. I promise to use the status early and often! Photos at every site tagged @garyleff @HyattTweets
Was sad to drop all the way to member. Would love to get this before going to the Andaz Tokyo in May. Love your blog- thanks!
I lost: my spouse/job/dog
My: mother-in law/adopted baby from Cambodia/gay lover from Costa Rica- are coming to reunite with me
It is my 50th bday/25th anniversary/10 day sobriety mark
I have: $10 in my checking account / to feed the mouths of my single mamas starving babies / tons of miles, just want more
pick one in each category so i will win and upgrade my status ASAP!
*********
people please – have some dignity
As a former Diamond who didn’t manage to qualify for Globalist, getting the Globalist status will help me on my business trips, where I usually have to make use of the lounge for discussions. More exciting for me is that the status will come just in time for me to take my parents on several trips to celebrate their 70th birthdays as well as 40th wedding anniversary!
“Upgrades at check-in now include standard suites” will give me a hope for better travel experience for my 2 adults+3 kids family . Even now Globalist “breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children instead of 4 adults”, one of us will need only baby food for this year.
Hey Gary,
I will ask my girlfriend, my love to travel with me to Bali. It would be great to have the Hyatt Globalist Status at our stay in Nusa Bua.
Sincerly Dan
I’ve been a Marriott guy for ages, and I’ve heard much about how much better Hyatt is, but I’ve never had incentive enough to go another direction. Giving up my Platinum status which has treated me well to go to the unknown hasn’t been all that appetizing. However, I’d very much like to find out what it’s like on the other side, and I’m sure my wife and 6 year-old daughter would enjoy reaping the benefits, as it would help me tempt them to explore new places, if they were experiencing great hotels along the way. Thanks much for offering the chance.
Taking mom to Hawaii this spring. It would be great for her to be able to experience all the benefits of top tier.
Huntington Beach upgrade to an actual beach view !
I’d finally get an upgrade
To begin, thank you for offering the give away and for making it more fun that the typical “like me on facebook” approach. I have two ways that I would love to use this opportunity if it were available to me.
First, I am getting married this year. Staying at a Hyatt, with most of the perks of Globalist, would be a wonderful experience and only add to the incredible memories that we will have for the rest of our lives.
In addition, two years ago I took a huge risk and left a very secure job to launch my own startup. My business partner and I have worked incredibly hard for the last two years developing our product and beginning next month we will be hitting the road to meet with potential clients from around the world. So, have the benefits and privileges of Globalist status would make what is going to be be a daunting and tiring experience that much less so.
I wish everyone luck and I hope whomever is chosen enjoys the experience to its fullest.
My wife and I have been taking my 13 year old daughter to as many countries as possible over the last 11 years to give her a broad insight of the world and it’s people. Due to the cost we quite often compromise on the luxuries that hotels offer, ie: I sleep on the couch/ floor, breakfast at a local bakery, drinks from grocery store and good old 2 minute noodles. As we generally are away around 60 to 70 nights a year we would greatly benefit from top tier status and would not be wasting it on one trip for a few days.
Thanks Gary for the offer. We are planning to go to Park Hyatt Maldives this year and being that you have to eat in the hotel and the exorbitant prices that they charge for the meals, the free breakfast benefit will go a long way.
I recently retired (14 months and counting) and we are traveling almost every month. My adult children often meet my wife and I so we end up booking multiple rooms. It would be great to upgrade to a larger room for all of us to congregate when we are in suite!
After many year in a different career, I have embarked on a new journey as a travel agent. As you may know, the job is completely different then it used to be. I will be embarking on many journeys this year all though out the globe to learn my craft and personally experience each city. I expect to be on the traveling to europe asia and latin america and north america on many occasions this year. It will be a significant change for me I would use the benefits and the suite upgrades would be great so that I could take my family with me several times without breaking the bank. I have never been away from home as often as I expect to be this year. I would make use of the other perks also.
Thanks for the consideration
Eugene
Please pick me, we can use suite upgrades to hide from the 3 year old.
would love an upgrade at PH BKK of one of the many benefits gained from top tier status 🙂
Getting married in September and planning to honeymoon in the Maldives. This will be great to have for a stay at the Hyatt there. Thanks!
As a Hyatt Diamond for the last year I have been able to have my wife and kids join me when traveling for work, and to show them different parts of our country and world for nearly free by gaining access to larger rooms and free breakfast (and great early evening snacks) in the club. Unfortunately I didn’t requalify as Diamond this last year, and am now Explorist. While I plan on using my 4 club upgrades to have my family travel with me, they won’t be able to make as many stays as in the previous year. Getting a year of Globalist will help keep us physically together, and to see more places in this great big world.
The room upgrade and breakfast benefits of Hyatt Globalist would give the family some great memories on our upcoming international trips this year, visiting family and friends in both Thailand and the UK.
This summer my husbamd and I will be driving to California with our three young children. We have already booked nights at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach with points and free night certs. Having Globalist status would make the trip so much more amazing. The potential room upgrade would be great and the free breakfast would free up money to spend on other fun things to do with our kids. This will be our one family trip of the year and we really want to make it a special one!
Bonjour Gary,
First of all, Thank you for your amazing tips in how to get miles. I applied for both AA cards and got the Aviator and the Citi. I should be getting 90k soon. So, planning to take my parents on vacation. They are both retired and have not taken a vacation in years.
I am in school and working hard now. I would love to take my parents for their 25th wedding anniversary in July to a beautiful Hyatt. They will be so thrilled if we get upgraded to a Suite or get free breakfast or both. They have never stayed in such luxury hotels.
They are both very sweet and simple people but this would be the highlight in their entire life if they were treated like royalty at a Hyatt hotel.
I also want to surprise my husband for his 50th birthday. He will be thrilled. I know there are so many people here that qualify but we deserve to have something amazing happen to us. I have never won anything in my life before. We have dealt with loss of my husband’s job and etc this past three years. Regards,
Me
I would definitely love to combine the Globalist benefits like free breakfast with my Hyatt credit card free night. I am a bit surprised that for MGM the Globalist only status matches to Gold status.
I’d like to use suite upgrades at the Grand Hyatt Singapore!
I would love an upgrade when I head to Seoul and Tokyo next month 🙂
I’d use DSU’s at Grand Hyatt Tokyo.
with 2 little kids and a wife who travel with me on work trips – never like to leave them at home having globalist status saves me a tonne on breakfast and a great bonus if I get a suite. Saves sitting outside in a hallway doing work on the laptop.
Started staying at Hyatts last year when I did a status match – great hotels and will continue with them regardless
I travel every week and stay in Hilton branded hotels 2-3 nights a week. While I’ve loved being a part of Hilton, I’ve had my eye on Hyatt for a while. Something about the Hyatt brand is larger than life in where their hotels aren’t just a place to crash or sleep but a way of life. It’s something I’ve been dying to experience for a while now but never had the courage to officially make the switch. Being a Hyatt Globalist would definitely push me over the edge 😉
Wife and I will be taking a year away from our day jobs starting July 1 for world travel, including travel writing/blogging (we have one blog that is Disney focused and will be creating a new one for our year of travel). Our current intended destinations that have Hyatt properties include Cartagena, Bogota, Rio, Buenos Aires, Vienna, London, Washington DC, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Bangkok, (we haven’t filled in all the details of our time in Southeast Asia), Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Sydney. We haven’t planned our second stint in Europe or Africa, yet, but those two legs will combine for the final four months.
I can’t promise that we’ll drop $500 to try the absolute best properties in every city we stop in. Here’s what I can promise.
1. We’re planning to stay mostly at cheap Airbnbs, so we will definitely have lodging money to spare, and we will take advantage of the Globalist status for all it’s worth. There’s not a travel blogger I’ve read who didn’t absolutely love the occasional indulgence when it came to a night’s rest. I can promise at least 12 nights at serious properties in 12 major cities.
2. We’ll blog about it, a lot, to make sure we’re not the only ones benefitting from this opportunity (we’ll also be sharing it with family/friends along the way, including with my in-laws at a wedding in Hong Kong). We’re both excited to expand our travel writing and blogging beyond our current topic (Disney). No, we haven’t stayed at the best resorts in the world (except Ritz Kapalua for honeymoon), but we’re good writers, pretty experienced travelers, and we’ll only be growing from here. I’ll even get a book about photography, because right now I’m just not great at that…
3. We’ll be eternally grateful to you (and we’ll make sure our loyal reader bookmarks you too).
Thanks for the opportunity, and congrats in advance to whoever wins!
Free breakfast
The past 3 years I’ve been in the Army, and for half that time, I’ve been deployed. While I’m excited to get out, start college, one of the greatest things the Army did for me was help me discover my love of travel. I’ve gotten to travel across the United States on leave, something that had I gone to college right away, I wouldn’t have gotten to experience (I also had no clue what I wanted to do with my life at the time, so there’s that also)
For the past few months, I’ve been planning a month-long solo trip to Europe, something I’ve always wanted to do, but never thought I’d get the opportunity. Learning about points and miles, I finally have enough (with some cash as well), to make this dream a reality. Globalist status would help by making my trip that much nicer. Getting to wake up with a free breakfast would allow me to put that money elsewhere, whether it’s at a museum, or some other attraction, and all of the other perks would obviously improve my experience while I’m overseas!
Got travel a lot for business. While my customer can enjoy business class i’m only allowed to book economy.
So at the end a Globalist status would help for compensating
As a Senior about to graduate college I would benefit from being a Hyatt Globalist because there would virtually be no other way for me to obtain it. I have plenty of UR/Hyatt points for stays and sometimes they are pretty cheap I can just pay out of pocket…but good lord I can’t do 60 nights. I wouldn’t even take globalist as something that would purely benefit me, but I am in the process of starting a travel website as well and it would be great to share content with my readers.
Globalist is the highest tier of the new World of Hyatt program, Hyatt added 1 more tier ups from 3 to 4. By adding more layer on the program and also increasing requirements on becoming GLOBALIST, meaning that the treatment the globalist will be the best out of the best. Hyatt Properties has always been my favorite, I personally love Park Hyatt and it has always been my favorite, with the new Globalist Status I will definitely enjoy the warmest hospitality and the unlimited suite upgrades at my Second Home in Seoul, Park Hyatt Seoul!
I would use it to get the free breakfast at the Salt Lake City Airport Hyatt Place. The breakfast is already free, but I would tell everyone I was a Globalist just to see the awed look spread across their faces. As I scooped up rubbery eggs and reheated potatoes, I would know that I could have a much nicer breakfast were there a Park Hyatt at the Salt Lake City Airport, and even just having that knowledge would nourish me more than the Hyatt Place breakfast sausages that fell somewhere between a hot dog and a Slim Jim texture-wise. I keep complaining about the food, but it wouldn’t matter in the end. I’d be a Globalist. Thanks in advance.
Hyatt Globalist status will give me breakfast in the hotel restaurant at Hyatt Regency Hakone because no club lounge is available. I’d love to visit Hakone and stay at Hyatt Regency Hakone during one of my next trips to Japan.
We’re moving back to the U.S. this summer after a long assignment in Europe….can’t wait to get back to a part of the world where Hyatt properties are much more available—and also we can start vacationing in Latin America!
That status will be perfect for our Kauai break:) Wish to have so.
I would use it to finally get nicer beachfront vacation for my wife who is definitely working too hard.
Hyatt is her favorite chain but we weren’t able to prolong our status we got from previous status match. Therefore I’d really be happy if you’ve chosen me. (Cat’s from Shrek look)
World of Hyatt would be my most benefitial loyalty program if I should be chosen.
Hey ,-)
..will travel through India the coming months, plan to stay a lot in Hyatt Hotels and might achieve the Global status anyway, but would be great having some benefits right at the start, making the trip a lot more comfy and less expensive.
Greetings from Hamburg,
Marcus
I have a young wife and two young children, so the possibility of a suite upgrade AND free breakfast is huge, especially on my constrained military salary.
Today is my 81st birthday and soon our 60th anniversary. We’ve only been able to afford the lowest tiers. Since we have no idea of the upper tier life, we’ll probably be content to stay as minimalists.
Having access to larger rooms and free breakfast are a big help for family travel.
Getting bigger rooms would be amazing, so would be free breakfast. I would definitely use it for the family vacations coming up, and maybe even make a couple of hotel stays for work more durable.
My husband is retiring this year and I have wanted to start his official retirement with a big surprise trip and some smaller trips as well. Unfortunately, since he has traveled for business for the past 40 years, his idea of a vacation is to NOT get on an airplane and to NOT stay in a hotel. I, on the other hand, have not gotten to travel very often with him and thus, do want to get on an airplane and stay in hotels. Being a globalist might just push him over the edge and make him amenable to hoping on that airplane and staying in some really nice hotel rooms. I think he’d enjoy the travel because he’d get to actually visit a city and not just view it from the sky or out of a meeting room window!
I would surprise my girlfriend with a Trip trough Europe. She always wanted that.
I’d love to use this status for my next upcoming trip with my girlfriend to North America. This could be a good way to add some luxury to our budget backpack trip!
Hmmmm….. sounds good.!
I have discovered Hyatt Diamond last year and I cant believe it’s already gone as I had such a great time at Hyatt properties, particularly the Park Hyatt Tokyo, and above all the Park Hyatt Chicago, where we could visit Parker, the hotel’s resident pug! I hope to visit again – and discover the many more incredible property Hyatt has!
I would truly appreciate receiving Hyatt Globalist status. Even though I love Hyatt hotels group, and usually stay in them when I travel, I don’t stay in them often enough to qualify for anything more than Discoverist, currently.
I was the victim of a serious auto accident while traveling out of the country two and a half years ago. My ability to travel is reduced by my injuries.
I would love being pampered by the special treatment that a Globalist receives at my favorite hotel group, Hyatt.
The free breakfast will allow easier vacations for my family as we won’t have to worry about finding breakfast that is acceptable to my wife and kids. Suite upgrades will help make weekend stays in the UAE and full vacations around the world much more comfortable and relaxing. I would also love to use the guest of honor to help treat my parents to an enjoyable vacation.
I like the idea of granting someone top tier status for their stay when you redeem for them. Would be nice for giving a surprise gift to those you care for like an anniversary stay or a birthday vacation and let them be pampered during their stay.
Having globalist status would make the trip I’m taking my father on for his 60th birthday even more special & comfortable.
To see if I ever get a suite upgrade with Hyatt
I’m bringing my wife on her first trip to Australia for our first wedding anniversary, and I’m using Hyatt card free nights to stay at the Park Hyatt Sydney. It would be great to have a better shot at an Opera House view and to get the breakfast benefit too. She doesn’t know where we’re staying yet, so this would help the surprise go from good to great.
If I win, I would be able to cement my loyalty to Hyatt as my top preferred hotel brand. I’ve held top status at other chains but it seems that Hyatt has a consistently better product across the board.
With Globalist, there’s a surprise treat I’d like to share with my wife when she comes to the Middle East. We’ve been apart for a couple of months due to work, and a really nice stay may just make it all worthwhile. Ssssh!
Going on a SE Asia tour Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and finally Korea. Suite upgrades and breakfast would be great for the family.
With family free breakfast and larger rooms are great!
I would love to enjoy free breakfast and suite upgrade on my future travel. It will definitely help my vacation to be more enjoyable.
I travel a lot, so free breaky/ckub come in handy, also we plan a long family vacation, where it would help a lot!
Winning would bring me back to Hyatt! I was Diamond for years, but just stopped switched back to Starwood because I wasn’t confident I could get 60 nights in. Now it seems I’m going to be travelling a lot more and the goal would have been easy.
My girlfriend and I are taking our first big international trip together and in hopes of impressing her I booked the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires and Park Hyatt Mendoza. Checking in with globalist status would be the icing on the cake.
Gary-Thank you so much for offering this generous Hyatt status to your readers. Also, please thank the donors at Hyatt. I would love to receive this, as I’m fairly new to the points and miles “family” and have not yet reached any elite status in any hotel brand. My husband served 22 yrs in the Air Force, and I served for 8 years, and after the sacrifices we’ve made for our country, it would be so wonderful to enjoy our travels with these awesome upgrades. Thank you.
I’ve never had Hyatt elite status, but have racked up a number of points over the years (almost 200,000 – which for me is a lot). I’d like the opportunity to use these at a resort with the family. Our son is graduating high school this year and a end-of-year-trip with Globalist status before he moves out would be very meaningful.
It would be great to treat some deserving good friends to a very nice experience at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok . This is already in our plans for next year . The Globalist status would make it even nicer . Thanks , either way .
It would be a really nice upgrade from my current digs in Baghdad.
Would love to try out the top tier status, never had it with Hyatt although I have some stays coming up with family!
My sister is retiring (a little early) in June and my gift to her for all those years if hard work, not to mention mentoring her little sis (me) for decades, is a trip a month for a year. Top tier Hyatt status would be the celebratory cherry on this ice cream sundae. From Calgary to Croatia, Malta to Patagonia, we would be thrilled to enjoy your largesse around the world!
Thanks for offering this opportunity to your readers.
Gary and Hyatt team – I would love to be able to gift Globalist status to family and friends, particularly for stays at the Park Hyatt Vendome (breakfast is amazing!). Personally, I would want to use it to take in the views of the harbour at the PH Sydney or to get lost in Tokyo!
We enjoy traveling all over the world with our 5-year old, especially to make him discover wonderful places, new cultures, different people. He has already logged in close to 100,000 miles (according at least to “flight memory”). His (and our) favorite hotel so far was the Park Hyatt in Abu Dhabi. We would love to discover more Park Hyatt hotels the “right way” (= great buffet + larger room) and return to this one in Abu Dhabi. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
Priority check in, free breakfast and club lounges will really come in handy on my work trips if I get the Globalist status.
We are a small start-up non-profit and the upgrade would allow several of us to share a room more comfortably and the free breakfast would also help us keep expenses low.
I would love to be able to stay somewhere more high end than what i could usually afford. Thanks for the chance
I would like to use the upgrades at Grand Hyatt Kauai for upcoming vacation.
I travel a lot around the world, and most of my fligths are redeye, so the late checkout at 4 pm would be very useful for me!
I love staying at properties that offers free breakfast to their top tier members, so the Globalist status would be great in my upcoming vacations.
After a year of broken sleep due to our first baby, it would be nice to enjoy some potential upgrades to nicer suites and hopefully get some good rest in the upcoming stays that I have already planned in various Hyatt properties this upcoming year!
Our favorite hotels are Hyatts. I considered doing a mattress run for Globalist status, but the Hyatts where we live are still too expensive to justify mattress running. My family and I have been fortunate to experience amazing upgrades and free breakfasts over the years at many outstanding Hyatts and would love to do so again. We have several Hyatt stays planned in 2017 which would all be enhanced by Globalist status.
I would love to finally be treated like royalty from a hotel chain. Sometimes, you’re just a number!
I have a few ideas for some getaways and that status would come in handy!
Thanks
Rick
I think it would definitely be great for my parents for their 50th anniversary global trip in Europe and Asia. Hyatt properties in these area might be small in quantity but the quality is really on the top of the game.
I have read a lot about how great Hyatt is, but with their small footprint I have not been able to try them very often. It seems the best experience with them is with the suite upgrades or lounge access. For me and my husband, the lounge is more important to us. With our travels last year and what is already booked this year, we have the opportunity to try some of their top properties and Globalist status would be the icing on the cake. My best experience with Hyatt last year was at the Hyatt Regency Chicago where I booked 4 rooms under mine and my husband’s accounts for coworkers at a conference. The front desk was able to upgrade one of my rooms to a suite. I was excited about that, but being the good employee I gave the suite to my boss, and took the standard room for me and my other coworkers. The front desk agent heard me give the suite away and asked me to wait a minute. She said that she was able to give me a second suite so I could enjoy it myself if I would agree to change rooms on the second night. Seeing how great their customer service can be makes me really want to try them more as a top tier. So far we have trips booked to Washington, DC, Sydney, and Hong Kong this year and it would be great to stay at Hyatt in each of those cities. Thank you for offering this giveaway opportunity!
If I were gifted Globalist, I would put it to good use on my solo trip to Paris. Which I wouldn’t even be going on, if it wasn’t for your posts on the Airfare sale/war back in Nov 2016.
Getting married in September and would be great to experience top-tier status at Hyatt hotels in France and Milan. I think would make our honeymoon that much more special.
Also happening to go to Vegas a couple times in June and July. Wasn’t necessarily planning on staying at an MGM, but maybe I would with Gold status.
Lingering question… how are you going choose from almost 500 Comments?
With a couple of trips with Hyatt stays this summer i would definitely utilize breakfast..breakfast..breakfast!
When traveling with the family, the rare upgrade to a suite makes all the difference when it comes to having extra space for kids and luggage. We currently have family stays planned at the new Andaz Mayakoba and the Hyatt Centric Park City, as well as a 20th anniversary trip with my wife at a Hyatt TBD. Globalist status would be a great benefit. Thanks for giving this away!
Free bottle of water- what could be better
Hi Gary,
Three big reasons how and why I’d benefit from Hyatt Globalist, in increasing order of importance:
1. Although Hyatt has a smaller footprint than some other hotel chains, what they offer aligns perfectly both with where my wife and I typically travel as well as what we love in service culture. We’ve just come off a year where my wife had Diamond (now expired) and loved the perks from business trips to Andaz 5th Avenue and Park Hyatt DC. But it’s Asia, our favorite region, where they really shine. We recently got back from an anniversary trip that included Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, where we had over the top “Happy Anniversary” signs, balloons and goodies, and Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok where we got an upgrade to a Spa Villa Suite! Last year we enjoyed Grand Hyatt Taipei, Hyatt on the Bund, and Grand Hyatt Beijing, all with great lounges, and adored the Andaz Tokyo. We find that Asian Hyatts in particular seem to have a service culture in their DNA that exceeds expectations.
2. Family, family, family: From inviting our niece from DC to join us at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, to family trips with our two kids to Hyatt Regency Maui last summer, top tier Hyatt status has made possible some wonderful family memories. I just got back from a trip with my 15 year old son to Japan to visit our relatives. Our stay included the Grand Hyatt Tokyo where we were able to gift a Guest of Honor stay to my cousin and his wife who otherwise would never have been able to enjoy that level of hotel.Sharing special occasions with family at wonderful places, with wonderful service, make those memories even more special.
3. And most important… it would make my wife so happy!! And as we know, happy wife = happy life!
Thanks Gary!
I come from an low income working immigrant family. I’d love to take my family away and show them a bit of luxury which they’ve never seen in their life.
I really want to take my older mom and dad living in Morocco, North Africa on a short trip to Hyatt properties in Morocco, Asia and USA. They have not taken a vacation in years as they are retired.
They have been trying to get a tourist visa to come to USA and finally got it. I also want to take them to Las Vegas, New York and maybe Hawaii if my miles will go that far. I am working now and also a full time student. Thanks to Gary I got two new cards with AA, a Ciiti card and an Aviator and I should be getting my miles soon, so I can book my parents to come here this summer.
I also want to surprise my husband for his 50th birthday. Being a Globalist will mean so much and allow us the luxury that otherwise we can not afford and it will be a blessing. My parents are very simple, low maintenance people and they will be so thrilled.
We will be so grateful, Thank you!
Soufiane
I have a family trip coming up starting with taking my family up to Chicago. I have a stay booked at Park Hyatt. A Globalist status would really help with daily breakfast (2 adults and two children works perfectly for us) and room upgrade. Free parking for city hotel such as this would come in very handy.
I also have around 200,000 Ultimate Rewards. A Globalist status would convince me to transfer them to Hyatt to be used for our future stays like at the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin, Thailand, where I am going later this summer. They have a nice club lounge.
I used United as an airline of choice quite often. The two complimentary United Club access passes would be great too.
Sometimes I don’t have much time to plan ahead for weekend getaways. The ability to ensure a room availability within 48 hours of the stay is a big plus!
One big mystery is my wife’s constant upstaging me with every credit card acceptance, bonus, and targeted offer. She’s definitely got the upper hand when it comes to the points in our family. Well, it would nice, for once, to take credit for an upgrade when we travel. We just finished celebrating our last Platinum Status experience at the Park Hyatt New York (on her!) and our upcoming trip to Europe would be nice with a few suite perks (on me!).
Hopefully being upgraded to a suite would be awesome while travelling with my little son, since he likes to run around and explore everything – and the bigger the room, the more to explore!
Hopefully upgraded to a suite. I would also love breakfast. Thanks for the chance.
I’m travelling the world with my girlfriend and the Hyatt Globalist therefore would be really nice 🙂
Gary, thank you so much for this great opportunity! Fallen in love with Hyatt from the very beginning of my travel activities, experiencing magical moments in Paris, I’d be so happy if you picked me as the lucky guy. Unfortunately, I had to stop travelling to fight the battle of my life and for my life for more than one year ago. Now, I am well again and with Hyatt’s Globalist status I’d celebrate being back in life! Now it is up to you to make my year… Best, Phil
Being a business traveler and with two small kids I’d be able to benefit from suite upgrades and free breakfast for kids on personal or business trips. I’d basically be able to book Hyatt hotels solely for status and not price of hotel, which is basically the primary reason why loyalty programs exist! Thanks for the great articles.
Hyatt has such a small footprint but I would like to try it out at their top tier level. I stayed at a few Andaz locations and like their style.
Gary,
I have been planning a long trip to Hawaii (and fine tuning the details) for the past 9 or 10 months, and have a number of award nights at Hyatt properties. Globalist status would be lovely, but especially meaningful as I intend to propose to my girlfriend during the course of our trip. While upgrades would be lovely, breakfast during the course of the trip and free parking (notably in Waikiki) would be extra bonuses.
While we haven’t discussed it much, I anticipate we will likely have a short engagement, and I would love the opportunity to plan a honeymoon and be able to use Globalist status at some of Hyatt’s top-notch properties to make the experience that much more special.
Aside from a few bigger trips such as these, it would be especially nice to extend the guest of honor privileges when we book award stays for our parents which we normally try to do a few times through the years; I’m sure they would love the opportunity as much as we would.
Thanks again for running this giveaway!
My fiancee and I are going on our honeymoon this summer with our time split between the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome & a week at the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa (thanks Ultimate Rewards). We would love to have globalist for our trip (my first time to Europe and first time to the Maldives for both of us).
My wife and I will benefit from World of Hyatt’s Globalist status because we have our eyes on a trip to the Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica as well as to Quebec City and Europe within the next year or so. We would also love to visit another Hyatt resort such as the Park Hyatt Hadaha if possible.
Breakfast at the resort properties is expensive so we would benefit greatly from globalist status over the course of a few week-long stays.
Suite upgrade of course!!
Only recently started staying at Hyatts, but I’ve been impressed. My wife and I are avid travelers with two young children (one very new), so suite upgrades would make a huge difference in how we travel. We have a number of trips on the calendar already, but haven’t finalized plans for all of them and I’d love to surprise my wife with some of the outstanding properties that Hyatt has to offer. Anyone who gets picked will automatically have a better year for it. Thanks for the opportunity.
I would love the free breakfast and club lounge access with the Hyatt Globalist.
I have an anniversary trip planned coming up in a few months and Hyatt is one of the chains we are looking to stay at this time around. All in all, we have the chance to stay at at least 5 different Hyatts this trip. If we could get the top tier status, that would make the trip even more enjoyable.
Never had a serious status with Hyatt (or any other chain). But still love Hyatts! Enjoy them every time I stay and I’m trying my best to accomodate their hotels in my itinerary. Last year stayed in PH Vienna and Zurich and it was great! Have lots of plans for this year as well (HR London Churchill, HC Long Beach, HR Paris Etoile) and would tray to stay more. Thanks for the opportunity!
I would benefit by getting upgraded rooms for my upcoming stays at PH Hadahaa this summer and at Hyatt Place State College this fall for football games!
Free breakfast alone would be a great benefit when traveling with my family of four. Thanks for the chance to win!
Upgrade to Suite and Free Breakfast
Upcoming honeymoon!
Thanks for giving us this opportunity! When we checked out of The Churchill (HR London), in the usual rush to get to the airport, we left behind my then 4-year-old’s favorite teddy-bear and “blankie”. As soon as we realized, we contacted the hotel. Just two days later the FedEx arrived home with its precious cargo, and I’ve been a loyal Hyatt fan ever since.
We’d love to re-visit The Churchill for my son’s upcoming 21st birthday celebration, and Globalist status would add great value. (Not to mention on the trips to Australia and Canada that we have scheduled in the summer).
P.S. he still has the teddy-bear, now somewhat worn from all the intervening years of travel and love 🙂
I’m a mom of 3 and we always choose Hyatt when we can, because the staff are consistently outstanding and they go the extra mile for the kiddos. Hyatt Globalist status would save us lots of money on trips with the free breakfast and lounge access, and the suite upgrades are perfect for traveling with the little ones. These perks would make our family trips that much easier. Thanks for the giveaway!
As someone who travels with smalls kids who usually double up, sleep on a roll aways or sofas, it would greatly benefit having the extra space for them if upgraded to a suite. This will also help with our sanity while traveling with the small ones.
I want to enter on behalf of my father, as he doesn’t read this blog but will be doing a lot of traveling this year. Last year I had Diamond status, and we went on a father-son trip together to Japan. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo and Hyatt Regency Kyoto, and he absolutely loved the status perks that came with our stay: the club lounge in Tokyo, and the room upgrade and free breakfast in Tokyo. So much so that now he got the CSR credit card and will get the Hyatt credit card this year for upcoming trips to Sydney and back to Japan, both with my mother. He wants to share the same great Hyatt experience with her, and I think him having status would make him feel like a superhero to my mom.
Globalist status would be just perfect for my upcoming trips!:)
Globalist status would be awesome for my upcoming visit with my mother at the PH Paris-Vendome and PH Zurich!
My husband and I are going to Tokyo & Hong Kong next month. It’s our 30th birthday present to ourselves, and we are viewing it as our last really big trip before starting a family.
We have been saving points for this adventure for over two years, so we are able to fly business class the entire way. (ORD to Tokyo, Tokyo to Hong Kong, and then Hong Kong back to Chicago).
We were also able to book all of our hotels with points, and we just so happen to be staying at Hyatt properties the entire time. You can bet that we would get a lot of use out of Hyatt Globalist status for this trip, as well as for the domestic trips we have started to plan for the coming year.
Thanks so much! I am crossing my fingers!
Globalist status would be ideal for my upcoming stays in Paris, Zurich and the soon to be opened Park Hyatt St. Kitts. I love the breakfast benefit and the occasional upgrades extended to elite members. I love being able to book rooms for my family members and extending the Hyatt Guest of honor privileges to them.
First and foremost, thank you Gary for the opportunity to be gifted Hyatt Globalist Status. For the person who has the difficult decision to choose the lucky reader, thank you for reading my submission out of over 500.
I recently “earned” the Southwest Companion Pass last month, which coupled with the Hyatt Globalist Status, would go a LONG way in giving me and my husband (married last October!) the adventure of a lifetime. We are actually booked to stay at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun for one of my close friend’s wedding (this June!!) and would love to be able to get an upgrade on our room. I actually went through a whirlwind of a time trying to find the best rate for our stay there… First, I made reservations for their Resort King room on Hyatt’s website, but I noticed that they also offered a Best Rate Guarantee which essentially price matches to a competitor’s rate and offer a 20% discount on top of the matched rate. I did some digging and after two denied attempts, I was almost going to give up. Then, I found a competitor who offered an Ocean Front Double for less than the published Hyatt rate and I jumped on the opportunity to make quick reservations on Hyatt and submit my claim. I was again denied because of the way the taxes were shown vs an all-inclusive rate but after calling Hyatt, they were able to honor their Best Rate Guarantee. I was thrilled to save just a bit more money on what appeared to be a superior room (although I will have to check and see if they can put us in a King).
In addition to this particular Hyatt stay and future stays with my husband, I travel for work and already have a few trips lined up that I would instantly switch over to a Hyatt over my attempts to get SPG status. To be honest, this is my first time attempting to get any hotel status and I’ve never experienced what it’s like to receive all the perks such as free breakfast, lounge access, parking (which is HUGEE for big cities!!!), late check-out (especially on weekend trips where I plan to take a later flight), a daily water bottle (who doesn’t love free water, especially when most hotels where you have no status charge $$$ for one) and matching to M life Gold Status (Vegas is only a 4 hour drive from LA and I go several times a year!).
One of the best perks of having the Hyatt Globalist status, is the Guest of Honor privileges. My best friend and her husband recently got married last month (yes, it seems marriages come in waves) and they didn’t get a chance to have a traditional wedding. We would love to gift them our Hyatt points (via Chase UR!!) and extend this amazing status so they can enjoy themselves as well. They are traveling photographers and are always on the road. Heck, if you don’t pick me, please pick them for this!
Sorry for this long post, but I wanted it to be clear that I would make use of every single perk possible. I am also open to writing hotel reviews or about my journey on using Hyatt’s Best Rate Guarantee and using this experience to jump-start my blogging aspirations!
I’ll be traveling between many different university towns to figure out where I’m going to spend the rest of my near future for my graduate degree and at each of these cities I’ll be staying at hotels for quite lengthy visits. Status will definitely help me out as I’ll be getting dirt-bottom cheap rooms, but it will also help for my best friend’s bachelor party in Vegas when it comes to any type of upgrades 🙂
Thanks for giving away such and awesome status as Globalist. The best benefit for me would not be having to pay a dreaded “resort charge” whilst using points.
Gary,
Thank you for gifting globalist status to a lucky reader. I have been lucky enough to have Diamond status in the past from status challenges but don’t travel enough to meet the criteria to renew. Diamond has made for some incredible experiences at the Park Hyatt Zurich, Vienna and Sydney especially. We have also had very memorable stays at the Hyatt properties in Hawaii.
We were planning on a trip to Maui and Kauai this fall for our 15th wedding anniversary to and know that Globalist status would make these trips unforgettable. Also, if we were lucky enough to receive the status I don’t know how we wouldn’t be able to plan a trip to Melbourne and Sydney next January where we could stay at some wonderful Hyatt properties.
Thank you!
Thanks for the opportunity this is a wonderful giveaway. After 10 years of working in NYC I’ve saved up enough and my girlfriend and I are giving up our apartment and most of our possessions and heading off for a year (at least) of travel around the US and much of the world. We’re looking forward to seeing so many amazing places and I’m going to use my newfound free time to finish my book. Hyatt is our favorite hotel chain so we were already planning on visiting several but this would make it a lot easier! Thanks again for this generous opportunity
havent had a proper vacation in years and decided with the state of the world as it is, i will take some time off and think things over to see how best i can contribute. i would still be an advisor, but on a voluntary basis and only on my own terms and only for good causes!
in the meantime, my partner has decided to ramp up her design team (which is getting bigger), requiring more travel. i would travel with her, being her impromptu “assistant” as many of the places she is going (Europe, Asia) I have some knowledge of. We would also have time to spend together, as our schedules have often collided…
And, my partner’s daughter, inspired by my lead (or craziness) is taking a year off before going to college (if she even does!), to intern under her mother and to see the world/travel (if so be it!)
So, these three factors would help us a lot if we had Globalist…whether solo, duo or as a happy trio, having status would be really great!
Thanks, and Enjoy Life!!
Whenever I’ve stayed at a Hyatt property (with only mid-tier status from the credit card), I’ve been impressed with the hotel and service. My travel is now self-funded, but my husband and I travel around the world annually, and a few smaller tips. I spend massive amounts of time researching flight and hotel deals so that we can afford the travel. Top-tier status at Hyatt would be awesome! It would allow us to start choosing Hyatts since we’d get breakfast and lounge access.
Gary, I’ve been following your blog for years and I always manage to find very helpful information. Just when I thought the blog couldn’t get any better, you outdo yourself by offering Globalist status – amazing!
I am in the process of planning a trip around the world with my family to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. We currently have Hyatt reservations booked at GH Hong Kong, GH Singapore and then returning home through Europe with stops in Cologne, Amsterdam, and Paris.
We are also planning several trips during the summer and winter which will include Hyatt stays all over North America.
Globalist status would make all of these trips unforgettable since it would open doors to many possible upgrades, access to lounges, and late checkouts. I also have family members that love to travel with us and the status would benefit them greatly since it would allow me to book Guest of Honor reservations at Hyatt hotels with all the bells and whistles. My nieces and nephews would think the world of me 🙂
I will be more than happy to write a review of each of our stays on milepoint.com to share our experiences.
Thank you Gary for all your informative posts and allowing me the opportunity to enter the contest. I’m looking forward to reading more posts in the future!
I would benefit tremendously by the (hopefully possible) suite upgrade, as well as breakfast benefit (however diluted). Mostly because I’m traveling with family, so it will be much beneficial for me than the average business traveler
I’ve got Chase points burning a hole in my pocket and a lot of weddings and family trips this year. These trips will all be made with our two young kids who are 2 and under. Hyatt status would go a long way towards making those trips more comfortable. On top of that, wife and I are planning on taking a trip for just the two of us in December. A getaway without kids would be even sweeter with top tier status.
I quit my job to travel nearly seven years ago (crazy, I know!), and much of it has been made possible due to miles and points. Flying business or first class has become the norm, but hotel points are in shorter supply (when you’re on the road for years, even PointBreaks redemptions will deplete an account pretty quickly!), so I try to save hotel redemptions for when I need a welcome break from more modest accommodations (hello, Hyatt Place), or when I’m joined by friends or family and ready for a splurge (Park Hyatt, here I come).
Thanks to Hyatt’s generous status match promotions, I have been fortunate enough to hold Diamond status a few times, despite not having enough paid Hyatt stays to earn top tier status outright. (I do have midtier status through my Hyatt credit card though.) This has been great, because even on points, stays at top category hotels can be a stretch when you’re on a (points) budget! Extra perks like free breakfast, room upgrades, and late check-out certainly provide outsized value, and Diamond status in the past year has already helped me celebrate recent family milestones from “round” birthdays to successful surgeries at hotels like the Park Hyatts in Paris, Milan, Tokyo, and the Maldives (all in the past year!), while also making stays at less “flashy” Andaz, Hyatt Place, Grand Hyatt, and Hyatt Regency hotels even more special.
It’s probably past time for me to rejoin the work force, and I’d love to go out with the bang Globalist status would provide! There are still quite a few Hyatts on my list that I’d like to visit sooner rather than later (I’m looking at you, Park Hyatt Vienna and Andaz Amsterdam!), and winning Globalist status would provide the push I need to help make sure I get to them. I hit at least 10 Hyatts last year with my status matched Diamond status–let’s see if I can beat that record with gifted Globalist status!
The grueling schedule of my profession makes leisure travel difficult (which is why I had to quit to see the world!), but once I rejoin the “real world,” I’ll have to see about leveraging work stays to earn Globalist status the old-fashioned way for those times when I do manage to get away!
As a loyal readers, my sister and I have racked up a lot of Chase points. We are public school teachers of many years who are looking forward to traveling extensively this summer. Teaching in Detroit is not easy! Hopefully, we can enjoy traveling in style with Hyatt Globalist status. We would be so grateful and definitely get good use of it.
Thanks for running the giveaway in advance! While we may not be celebrating any major, major milestones this year, it’ll be our (still significant) 5th anniversary this year and hopefully our last year of travel (and freedom!) before starting a family. We were planning to do a few trips both domestically and internationally so the Globalist status would be a wonderful surprise (with the complimentary breakfasts and suite upgrades) for my wife. This would certainly have the potential to make a memorable trip we were planning to Maui (the Andaz looks amazing there!!) into an exceptional one!! But regardless who wins, here’s to wishing the winner enjoys some incredible stays this year!
Wow, this would be awesome for our trip to the Maldives.
Want to use the status to make my parent’s stay with free breakfast and parking when I use my points for them. 🙂
I’ll be flying back to visit my grandma to take her on an 85th birthday trip. The Grand Hyatt’s in SE Asia look stunning and the Globalist suite upgrades and lounge access would definitely create some incredible memories for her. She had raised me up since I was very little so I would love to be able to surprise her on her big birthday!
Hi Gary, Thanks for running this contest. I am a regular reader and really appreciate your service. I used to live in Texas, but am now stationed in Seoul, Korea, as such, I cannot take advantage of most of the valuable information on specials you provide. I travel a lot for work and try my best to stay at Hyatt properties. If personal travel, I almost always stay in a Hyatt property. Since my company policy is 4 star hotels, I usually pay for the difference to stay at Hyatt, as I generally find Hyatt hotels in Asia to be the best in service, quality, cleanliness, etc… I am currently Hyatt Explorist. Unfortunately, due to budget guidelines, I have to forego things like breakfast when I stay at a Hyatt. If I am awarded this status, the most valuable part of the Discoverist that I will use all the time is the club lounge access. As most of my stays will be for work, having the chance to relax in the lounge as well as breakfast and happy hour will be invaluable. This will make certain that I only stay at Hyatt. I also promise to take you out to dinner when you visit Korea. Thanks for reading.
The no resort fee and free parking on awards is an awesome perk
It would give us a great reason to start staying at Hyatt properties, as we’ve always gone to Hilton and IHG properties due to credit card-based status offerings. Hyatt Tokyo, here we come!
Our 1-year-old daughter is used to having her own room at home and will not go to sleep if she can still see us. Since we bring our little one wherever we go, it is a sanity-saving boon to have the extra space of a suite and the ability to segment off the bedroom.
Last year, we were able to put DSU’s to good use at Hyatt Tsim Sha Tsui and GH Singapore. This year, we are planning a stay at the GH Hong Kong and would love to experience their decadent, albeit expensive, breakfast offerings.
For our 10th anniversary, we will be making a long-awaited trip to Australia including a stay at the PH Sydney. It would be a terrific way to celebrate having breakfast with a view of the Sydney Opera House.
We will be returning to Singapore to attend a wedding with my wife’s elderly parents in tow. In Singapore, it is very difficult to find hotel rooms that sleep 4 adults. An upgrade to the Grand Duplex Suite would have plenty of room for 4 adults and a toddler.
The wedding couple are looking at having their honeymoon in the Maldives. It would be fantastic privilege to gift them Guest of Honor benefits at the PH Maldives.
My wife’s parents are celebrating their 40th anniversary and her mother’s retirement with a trip to Switzerland and Italy. Being able to book them at the PH Zurich and PH Milan with Guest of Honor benefits would be a wonderful surprise!
This is an exciting and generous giveaway with many worthy entries. Thanks for your time and consideration.
My wife and I have been together for 28 years and have been traveling more and more based on what we learn from the travel blogs. The more we learn and earn in points and miles, the more we enjoy our travel experiences. We have really upgraded from the days of staying in Travelodge hotels! Even though we travel a lot while working Monday to Friday jobs, we do not have enough stays at any particular hotel chain to earn top status. When we have access to the hotel lounges which normally include breakfast and evening snacks, it seems to make the trip more laid back and relaxing since we do not have to worry about leaving the hotel to find something to eat. I would love to win this status so that we can direct all stays to the Hyatt brand in cities we are visiting that have properties there. I would enjoy being able to present this to my wife to help with all the travel planning she works on. In order to maximize the status for a year, we could most likely direct a little more than 30 nights to Hyatt for the year. Thank you for the unique way you are awarding this!
I have a big passion for travel.
Over the past few years I visited several Hyatt hotels and resorts in North America, and really loved my time at Hyatt properties.
My favorite North American Hyatt property was Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach in Southern California.
During my stays, I got to know various employees at the hotels and also met other guests who had top-tier status with Hyatt, and realized how awesome Diamond (now Globalist) status is.
This year, I am further expanding my travel to areas outside of North America, and would love to visit Hyatt hotels and resorts all over the world.
I’ve been following Gary’s blog for a long time, and I really enjoyed reading his reviews on many outstanding Hyatt properties such as the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, and ton of others.
Having Hyatt’s Globalist status will enrich my stays at Hyatt properties around the world so much with all the great benefits it comes with: upgrade to best available room including standard suites, club lounge access with breakfast, 4 pm late check-out, etc.
I especially love the fact that I also will be able to share the great Globalist benefits with friends and family members via the Guest of Honor program, who will have fantastic times at Hyatt properties on their vacations.
Thank you for offering your readers this opportunity.
Last year, “coupledom” became a “family” with the arrival of our son following a very difficult pregnancy. The pregnancy sensitized us to how blessed we are to have the family we have, and to cherish even more the time we share together. Following our son’s arrival, we scheduled an extended family vacation together — four generations of our family invaded Park City, Utah and we had an amazing time at the Hyatt Centric. An upgraded suite served as our base, and we had other rooms as satellites that orbited the base. The suite had a full kitchen and living room, so our amazing holiday vacation was filled with food and fun in the suite upgrade. And, because we cooked and played in the suite, it saved the 11 of us lots of money, too. Doing so we created memories for a lifetime, and status truly took these experiences and memories to the next level. Globalist status, for us, means grounding in a place, community and communal cooking, extended family together. Hyatt upgrades, especially with kitchens, mean spaces where we can break bread and where children can play. We’ve never had Hyatt breakfasts, but we hear they’re to die for, and they’d be icing on the cake for us.
When our daughter was born in 2015, we have made a few promises to ourselves. The first was to instill in her an appreciation for different cultures and a love of travel. The second was to ensure she would understand her own culture as the granddaughter of immigrants. The third was to share as many memories as possible with her grandparents while they still have the ability to travel.
The Hyatt Diamond status last year was invaluable to us with regards to fulfilling these goals. We were able to go to multiple cities in the US and Asia with a great deal of comfort.
When we travelled last year, the suite upgrades allowed us to enjoy some alone time while providing the baby to have her own space to sleep in (she needs 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night). We were also able to feed her a good breakfast and clean her up (she is a messy kid!) before we left our hotel for the day.
In addition, we were travelling with her grandparents, they were able to stay with us in our upgraded suite in Singapore. We were also able to host a small get together for grandpa’s relatives who we haven’t seen in over 15 years.
Finally, we were able to grant grandma’s big wish last year… which was to go to a performance of the Met Opera in NY. That was a memory she will never forget!
But the best thing of all is the excellent service we received as Diamond members. When you are travelling with a small child, it’s the small things that concierge service provides that makes a trip that much more fun.
This year, we are not likely to be able to gain Diamond status without a lot of help. As health care workers, our schedules are tight. Regardless, we are still planning on spending whatever precious time we have on travel.
Thank you for holding this contest for people like us. We really appreciate all that you do for us with your website. The information we get from your reviews is essential for travel.

Thanks, Gary. Would love to use on my upcoming stay at PH Sydney for a shot at a suite!
I’m a PhD student so I’ve got a limited budget. Your blog has been my main portal into the world of points and miles. My favorite thing about them is getting to surprise friends and family with luxury trips that are well beyond what they are used to. For example, my Christmas gift to my little sister this year was a trip to Vietnam, including Cathay business class flights (using AA miles) and a 3-night stay in a suite at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap (using Chase->Hyatt points & cash). I’m super excited about the new Globalist program and the prospect of unlimited suite upgrades in particular. I don’t see how I am individually deserving over anyone else, but I can assure you that I would be “spreading the wealth” and sharing the Globalist benefits with as many friends and family as possible.
The Suite upgrades would be amazing as space is one of single most important aspects when on the road. I would love to tour asia while visiting multiple Hyatts like PH Shanghai or Tokyo.
I would benefit from Hyatt Globalist because I do not currently stay at any Hyatt properties. I have been a loyal Hilton customer for 15 years and rarely stray away from Hilton properties. I’ve stayed at some Starwood properties globally while working on gold status. I would like to experience Hyatt’s properties in the US and internationally when I travel for business and with my wife. This would open me up to a new brand and I would get to see why there is so much buzz about Hyatt, the suite upgrades and get away from Hilton.
Would like to use it @ PH sydney
Who won?
@Peter I posted, it was ‘Marty’
