200% Bonus On Bilt Transfers To Hilton Coming March 1

Bilt Rewards is back with its Rent Day offers for March 1. The headline here is a Hilton Honors transfer bonus: 150% for general members, and 200% for anyone with Bilt Rewards status. A 200% transfer bonus means 3 Hilton points for every 1 Bilt point transferred. I believe this is the world’s first 200% transfer bonus to a travel points partner.

200% Transfer Bonus To Hilton Is Meh

If you normally spend your Bilt points on Amazon purchases or rent, this is a good deal. If you normally transfer to Hilton, IHG, or Marriott without a transfer bonus, this is a god deal. And if you normally redeem through their travel portal at 1.25 cents apiece, this is a good deal.

However it is not something I will be doing. I value Hilton points at about half a cent apiece, and frankly that’s generous and probably doesn’t take into account the last Honors devaluation. That would mean getting 1.5 cents per Bilt point with a 200% transfer bonus. I value Bilt points more than that. It’s about a wash transferring to Hyatt.

  1. Yup. Gary’s right on the transfer bonus–‘meh’ indeed. The only decent one these days is Hyatt. Gotta admit, these ‘Rent Day’ promotions are weak. March 1 is a Saturday–so, if it’s nice out, I might wait in line to ‘maybe’ get a free coffee (would probably be the 1,001st person–sucks to suck). Always worth repeating that the 1,000 point cap is so freaking lame (Wells has Ankur by the balls).

  2. 1990 will probably petition the government to guarantee that everyone who shows up will receive a free coffee. It tracks with his belief that others should pay for things he wants.
