Who Wants a Free $2500 Stay in Bali?

Bali is one of my favorite relaxing places in the world. I go to the Maldives often, but it can be tough to get to and tough to get awards to. When folks come to me looking for French Polynesia and can’t find awards I’ll often suggest Bali.

It’s an interesting place with good food, cultural activities, and some of the world’s friendliest people. And there’s fantastic luxury accommodations available at reasonable prices for those spending US dollars.

Viceroy Bali is a family-owned resort with just 25 private pool villas. It’s in the artistic region of Ubud, so a nice departure from the more sterile Nusa Dua area of Westernized resorts. It’s a TripAdvisor 5-star and 2016 Travelers Choice award winner. I’ve seen very few properties with reviews this good. In fact, It’s TripAdvisor’s #11 of top 25 luxury hotels in the world.

And I’m going to give away a couple of nights there, with some fantastic inclusions, thanks to Luxury Travel Diary.

Luxury Travel Diary is a high-end travel blog with great reviews based in the UK that has a bunch of travel auctions with real bargains.

As I’ve said before, folks who already know about these auctions don’t like this added attention, because there don’t seem to be enough bidders relative to the value of the offerings and some of these items go way too cheap.

Seriously, a hotel night in the Maldives for an auction ending in about 8 hours going for 28 British pounds as of this writing…

Luxury Travel Diary wanted to highlight some of their deals, and offered to help organize a giveaway of a 2 night hotel stay at the Viceroy in Bali.

What’s included?

  • 2 night stay in a Garden Villa for 2 people
  • Roundtrip airport transfers
  • Daily breakfast
  • One candlelit dinner for 2
  • One couples spa treatment for 2

The hotel lists the value at $2500. It’s being given away by the hotel and Luxury Travel Diary, I’m just helping to highlight it and randomly select the winner. The stay can be taken through July 14, 2017 with July 15-30 and December 20-January 6 excluded.

To enter: leave a comment on this post with your favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary, or why you would choose to stay at Viceroy Bali. You may enter two times if you wish and answer those two questions one time each in separate comments.

Contest deadline and drawing winner: Entries close Friday, March 4 at Noon eastern. I will draw winner with the assistance of random.org.

The fine print: Advance booking is required and it’s subject to availability. Terms and conditions apply.

For avoidance of doubt, I have no affiliation with Luxury Travel Diary or Viceroy Bali. I am not getting anything in exchange for running this giveaway other than an opportunity to share the place with readers.

I will put the winner in touch with the hotel for booking. They are solely responsible for providing prize to winner. All decisions made in the course of running this giveaway are final and unappealable and your entry signifies your acceptance. The goal here is to make readers aware of a pretty cool auction opportunity, and to give away a stay. So please don’t make it hard on me for doing so!

You probably won’t fly to Bali and back for a 2 night stay, though you might add onto it and do other things in the region and it’s a great opportunity to spend American AAdvantage miles at just 55,000 miles each way in business class or 67,500 in first class before the March 22 devaluation.
