- During the trial where Erin Andrews is suing the Vanderbilt Marriott where a peephole video was taken of her naked, part of the ownership group of the hotel who testified at the trial apparently was showing the video out with friends at dinner, supposedly remarking “it was costing him millions so he was going to show it to everyone.”
- LAN, TAM tweak LATAM Plus, Fidelidade frequent flyer programs
- The courts have ruled since 2011 that the TSA’s use of nude-o-scopes is illegal without issuing a formal rule-making. The TSA basically ignored court orders requiring that it adhere to the Administrative Procedures Act.
As I said in the fall when the court reiterated its ruling, that all the TSA would do was finally come out with a rulemaking saying what it was doing was legal and that would be that (although additional suits would no doubt be filed). That’s exactly what has happened. The TSA says they have considered relevant arguments, and consider nude-o-scopes to be awesome.

Looking for the article on Oneworld Program Makes Changes. Where is it hiding?
Where is the CEO story?
@Pam – LAN/TAM, linked above
The CEO story seems to be from last year: http://atwonline.com/news/china-southern-chairman-named-corruption-investigations. Gary’s headline says he’s been fired. Bloomberg reported in January that he resigned. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-15/china-southern-air-says-chairman-si-xian-min-resigned-amid-probe
Corruption is as old as China, and is especially an issue now Whether the current anti-corruption campaign is against western-style corruption as we know it; or is a fight to diminish the traditional ways of “guangxi” (loosely, relationships); or is a cat-fight between the financial power of Shanghai and the political power of Beijing (which could be a threat to the underlying political order and to the Chinese Communist Party), remains to be seen.
@Retired Lawyer the new story is the replacement, and you can call it a resignation but CEOs don’t “resign” for corruption in the midst of a government crackdown on corruption.
Thanks for pointing out where the story was hidden, but that story is about LAN’s FF program, not really about OneWorld changes. I love your blog, and not complaining, but the headline really did not match what the story was about.
@Pam LAN’s program is a oneworld frequent flyer program, *there is no alliance-wide program* apologies if that was confusing it was not meant to be
Upon being questioned regarding the obvious click bait headline, Gary carefully reviewed the headline in question and decided it was awesome.
Srsly? You couldn’t just say “LANTAM Program Makes Changes”?
Disappointed in your obvious clickbait headline.
