Flyertalk member Evan! points out that the US Airways 50% Bonus on Hotel, Rental Car Earning and Points Transfers I posted about yesterday (registration required) means that you can earn 4725 US Airways miles on a 3-day Avis car rental through July 31.
That’s because the US Airways 3000 mile bonus for a 3-day Avis rental is eligible for the bonus.
Wonderfully lucrative for any 3-day rentals you’ve got coming up!
I guess that is best currently. But, Budget’s 5,000 DL miles for 2 day rental just ended and it’s not that long since Budget ran 10K miles for one day rentals. So, this is…okay.
1. Those were offers for Skypesos
2. 10k for 1 day rental was 2 years ago. Get over it 🙂
Am I able to credit these US miles to UA or CO?
And, US Air miles are better than Delta miles? I don’t think so at all. I use my Delta miles for gift cards and hotel stays at VERY reasonable rates. Sure, I don’t use the miles for flights, but I have earned a ton of valuable gift cards and hotel stays.
I am renting at PHL this weekend for $25 total for two days ($36 with tax). In return, I earn 5,100 miles. For 6,000 miles, I earn a $50 gift card at Legal Seafood, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc.
I am staying at the new Le Meridien Chambers in Minneapolis in two weekends for 12,000 Delta points. Weekend nights there are typically $169+tax. By paying with points, there is no tax. So, I book the Friday night with $$$ so I get my stay credit (and other assorted bonuses) and stay Saturday night with Delta miles.
(And, I get use of the car which I needed anyway.) 🙂
