A bird was discovered in business class twelve hours into flight SQ322 from Singapore to London on January 7th. The bird continued to fly around and when the plane touched down it was “handed over to animal quarantine authorities.”
Here’s video from inside the cabin. The bird was a mynah.
A flight attendant even goes for it – and misses. Eventually, though, Singapore Airlines says that it was “caught by cabin crew with the assistance of some of the passengers on board.” Team work!
It’s actually not that uncommon for birds to fly with people in an aircraft. Qatar Airways even has a bird policy. Each is permitted to bring one dead animal on the plane because they’re allowed one carrion.
In fact birds can be more dangerous when they’re outside of a plane than when they’re inside.

When the Mynah arrived at London Heathrow it declared, “boy are my arms tired.”

I knew you’d get some mileage out of this, my wayward son…
@ Gary — Did it get its miles? Better credit to a distance-based program…
The photo description is inaccurate: that was a camelstrike.
Is it a talking myna? They are notorious for picking up ‘vocabulary’. We had one growing up and it has extensive mimicking ability.
