News notes from around the interweb:
- The last survivor of the Hindenburg disaster has died
- Any other non-requalifying Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador members receive soft landing to Titanium? (HT: >W.)
TITANIUM ELITE STATUS AHEAD
It looks as if Marriott Bonvoy™ Ambassador Elite status is likely out of reach for 2020 — but as a token of appreciation for your loyalty, Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite status is yours for 2020.
Your ambassador is still here to help you make the most of your 2019 travel. Reach out to your personal ambassador directly or email ambassador.service@marriott.com if we can help. Also, remember to maximize our latest global promotion, Unlock More, to earn even more for your stays. - Data point: American AAdvantage agent says they’ll give ‘courtesy elite qualifying miles’ to member that ends the clear close to earning their status. This surprises me considering how aggressively they’re pitching members to buy back (or buy up) their elite status.
- File this one away.
#ProTip: If you're traveling to Mexico, try Foursquare instead of Yelp.
Many locals use Foursquare — many American visitors use Yelp. Because of that, you can find TOTALLY different recommendations for food & hangout spots.— Becky Pokora (@sightDOING) November 16, 2019
- British Airways offering unlimited free wifi to first class passengers, will this become a benefit for Golds?
- Wow.
I have seen a lot over the years, but this has to take the #ESAofTheDay cake.

Currently scanning for the cheapest sub-500 mile one-way tickets on United out of DEN for the rest of the year.
I’m at 99008 PQMs 😐 and don’t have any more business travel for the year.
@Steve S: Let me repeat (to all) the question I asked when this issue came up a few weeks ago:
Does anyone know of a travel site that can be searched for the cheapest mileage runs given a starting point? It seems that the OTAs could turn this into a good source of business.
Thks.
I don’t know the answer but I’ve seen Lucky @OneMile@atime take a lot of mileage run trips and comment about them frequently, you may find an answer if you post your query on his page. Good luck.
