News notes from around the interweb:
- For 5 days Marriott is offering a 15% discount on gift cards that do not expire to US and Canadian residents.
- 6000 miles in airline shopping portal bonuses
- If you’re livestreaming yourself as you walk up to a boarding gate without a mask on, I have a feeling you’re looking and hoping for a confrontation.
- Sydney will only accept 350 international arrivals a day down 100 from the previous cap instituted earlier in the month. Melbourne has a Covid-19 outbreak, allegedly stemming from arriving international passengers having sex with their quarantine guards who picked up the virus and brought it into the community. (HT: @jayhawnj)
- You can use Thai Airways miles (transferrable from Citibank) for airline swag (HT: Loyalty Lobby)
- Pakistan International Airlines, banned from flying to the U.S. and Europe after a scandal where many of their pilots turned out not to be properly licensed, will contract for another airline to operate charters on their behalf.

The irate passenger on the livestream was correct on many levels. I disagree with her anti-mask position, but I applaud her general desire to stick up for consumer rights. Too often in America, service providers forget that the customer is the one who’s paying for service, and it is completely improper for service providers to reprimand a customer in the way a high school principal might (properly) reprimand a student.
She committed the ultimate sin.- she is fundamentally boring.
How did long-term HK arriving passengers eat/drink to survive inside the International terminal?
(or shower, etc)
Meh, that’s nothing Mehran Karimi Nasseri did 18 years in the departures lounge at CDG form 1988-2006.
Apparently the live streamers were the same bloggers who were arrested for dumping black paint on the BLM murals in front of Trump Tower and in the Bronx.
Those women were loud and abusive. Yes, customer service is to help customers solve problems but they are people too. They are not getting paid to take that kind of abuse. Too many entitled people seems to think just because they paid money they have the right to walk all over people.
Pretty tame compared to what happened in the FLL airport At least no shoes and bottle were flying
while cellphones were being stolen..
Well, she’s mad cause she lives in New Jersey!!
And some people wonder why there are so many cases of CoVid19.
She is a woman of strong opinion!! and sticking to her views… she has some good points about freedoms in America
Rights come with responsibilities. When will these morons learn?
