News and notes from around the interweb:
- Trivago, owned by $12 billion travel booking behemoth Expedia, still complains that Google wants them to pay their advertising bills despite the campaigns not yielding the eventual business the travel booking site had hoped due to the pandemic. They expect more ‘solidarity’ from Google, but of course Expedia has shown little for its customers (I’ve found Expedia customer service abysmal during normal times but just try getting a refund on cancelled airline tickets..).
- Along with introducing former buy on board sandwiches as first class meals as I told you to expect a month ago, American Airlines has extended the evening meal window from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. so that late departures still will receive some food.
- Southwest Airlines offering to convert unused travel funds to points – as a choice – is legitimate value add for members and something that costs the airline real money, since some of the travel funds would otherwise expire but Rapid Rewards no longer do.
- Anchorage Airport wants foreign airlines to be able to stop there, and later fly passengers onward to the mainland U.S. with an exemption similar to what’s been granted to Puerto Rico. This makes a lot of sense, which means U.S. airlines will lobby against it.
- Some of Delta’s competitors need to hear this. Cough.
We don't know who needs to hear this, but we're sanitizing our planes between every flight, every day, everywhere. pic.twitter.com/GMBXMhH8IS

- A great piece from last year on selling DFW Airport
Meanwhile Delta wont even serve you a cup of orange juice in first class….for your safety of course. No danger serving beer and wine though! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that Delta is keeping me so safe!!!!
