  1. I think deplaning and paying for hotels for the passengers due to a technical issue with a plane is a better look than having to do an emergency landing or crashing a plane full of US Olympic athletes and team staff.

  2. Oh come on technical issues happen you know that, are they supposed to fly a spare plane just in case?

  3. @Nick: no he just bitches about United at every chance as if any of the US3 are good. I guess he would prefer they take off in an unsafe plane.

  4. Better than the alternative headline I suppose. “Olympians die in crash because of United.”

  5. Gary likes to make it look like United has the same meltdown as Spirit. Name a single airline in the world today that doesn’t have technical issues please. The plus sides are United is providing lodging, meals and other services as any legacy carrier would in case of an unexpected delay. United rescheduled their departure and not abandoning their passengers. So far they are doing what is necessary to assist their passengers.

Apparently a slow news day for Gary so he can get clicks on his website for sensationalism.

  6. “A tempest in a teapot”, “a mountain out of molehill, and appalling that someone who writes all the time about travel would consider a garden variety irrop to be worthy of a post. Or maybe what makes this routine occurrence special is that it affected US Olympians…?

Had this irrop involved an AA flight, the take would probably have been about how the airline was proactive in taking care of stranded US Olympians. Then again, impartiality has never been this site’s claim… 😉

  7. good for united for handling the flight issue so well and doing proper tech checks! This is reassuring.

  8. First of, RJB you’re an idiot!

Secondly, Hey Gary what would the alternative be?????? You have had an animosity towards UA for so long, it is really getting unhealthy!.. You really need to check yourself in for some help, you really need it!
