1. Every country ought to charge a nominal fee upon entering . It is like a small tax to defray the cost of their presence , and would be considerate . Thailand ought to reinstitute the 300 bahts fee .

2. I like that southwest vehicle. It shows a commitment to cost minimization.

3. I’ve got a bunch of photos of that Southwest vehicle from standing next to it. It’s actually a manual transmission too which is amazing. It’s been at BWI for like 15-20 years.

   They also have an old Aerostar van painted in Canyon Blue colors like an airplane. Line maintenance uses both.

4. Alert – WRONG, every country should PAY tourists to visit, for without tourists their economies would suffer.

5. Thailand used to have an exit fee that was paid before getting exit stamps in your passport. It used to cause a lot of problems for those who didn’t set money aside for it and it had to be paid in Thai Baht or at an unfavorable exchange rate. It caused some people to miss their flights. It is still there but is now hidden in the ticket price. If they really wanted this fee it should have been hidden the same way.

7. That southwest vehicle is what is used to deliver their VIP customers across the tarmac to waiting planes.They got the idea from Lufthansa in Frankfurt but had to one up them.

8. @jns I seem to remember NZ dis a similar thing. You needed to pay an exit fee and you attached the sticker/receipt to the back of the boarding pass. Fortunately, they moved it to ticket prices.

   BTW, a brain cell just died, releasing a memory of having to add stickers with my FF# to TWA boarding passes.
