The pilot of a KLM flight from Glasgow to Amsterdam fell unconscious as the plane prepared to depart Glasgow.
A passenger assisted crew in reviving the pilot. The co-pilot brought the plane back to the gate, where firefighters took the pilot off the aircraft, into a waiting ambulance, and to the hospital. The pilot is in stable condition.
The most dangerous time for an aircraft is takeoff and landing, under manual control. There’s a reason of course for more than one person in the cockpit. Fortunately the plane was merely taxiing to the runway and not in its take off roll and the co-pilot was alert.

A year ago an American pilot died inflight.
Fascinating.
