Via Windbag Miles Star Alliance member Scandinavian Airlines has great business class award space through the beginning of April for 4 or more passengers from several US gateways.
You can use miles with United, Aeroplan, ANA, LifeMiles, and many other programs to book awards to and through Copenhagen to most places you’d want to go in Europe. Aeroplan doesn’t add fuel surcharges to SAS awards.

Dates during the week for San Francisco – Copenhagen have award seats for four also, and that’s notable because West Coast – Europe non-stop premium cabin awards are notoriously difficult to get especially for more than two passengers.

Newark – Copenhage and Stockholm and Boston – Copenhagen availability for four passengers is more limited.
The new SAS business class is fully flat with direct aisle access, the Thompson Vantage XL seat a variation of which Delta will be using for its new business class seats (though they will be adding sliding doors). Here’s a video review:
You may not have any interest in Copenhagen (although consider it for a stopover — or ‘excursionist perk’ on a United Europe award — but you should have interest in these award seats either way. You can fly beyond to other destinations in Europe.

For peak summer travel from SFO I see some interesting routings that involve connections from UA to LH and SK, but zilch on the SK nonstops. From LAX I see routings with connections on AC but nothing on SK nonstops. Nothing different on ANA website. Maybe a more accurate headline should read “Award space open for winter trips to freezing Scandinavia”
