Awesome Luxury Auction Deals That Go Cheap and a 4 Night Paris Hotel Stay Giveaway!

Luxury Travel Diary, a high-end travel blog with great reviews based in the UK, has a bunch of travel auctions — some about to close, others extend into October — and there look to be some real bargains. Many of these are great auctions, without enough bidders, so the items go for way less than they should.

They wanted to highlight some of these, and offered to help organize a giveaway of a 4 night hotel stay in Paris for readers of this blog. Details on how to comment on this post to win below.

Since Hyatt Gold Passport elite benefits generally are provided even on stays that do not earn elite credit, I love that there are auctions ending at Hyatt properties in Palm Springs, Goa, Shanghai, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Singapore and Jakarta.

Not to mention all the great non-chain properties. For instance, as of this writing 4 nights in the Maldives are going for less than US$650. 5 nights in the Cook Islands — ending in mere days — are going for under $200 (checked yesterday). 3 nights on Maui with auction ending Saturday is pricing at $130 as I type.

Check them out…

The giveaway:

Prize: 4 nights in Paris at Hotel Eugene en Ville in a superior room with private terrace including buffet breakfast. The winner can redeem subject to availability between November 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016 (excluding December 31, January 19-24, February 14).

Hotel Eugene

While I haven’t stayed there I certainly would, it appears that three quarters of guests rate the property as very good or excellent on TripAdvisor and it would mean getting away from the chains and indulging in a more boutique contemporary experience for the City of Light. (That said my next stay in Paris will be at a chain because.. points.)

To enter: leave a comment on this post with your favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary, or why you would choose to stay at Hotel Eugene en Ville over other hotels in Paris. You may enter two times if you wish and answer those two questions one time each in separate comments.

Contest deadline and drawing winner: Entries close Friday, October 30 at Noon eastern. I will draw winner with the assistance of random.org.

The fine print: For avoidance of doubt I have no affiliation with either Luxury Travel Diary or Hotel Eugene en Ville. I will put the winner in touch with the prize provier for booking. They are solely responsible for providing prize to winner. All decisions made in the course of running this giveaway are final and unappealable and your entry signifies your acceptance of these terms. The goal here is to make readers aware of a pretty cool auction opportunity, and to give away a stay in Paris. So please don’t make it hard on me for doing so!
