Luxury Travel Diary, a high-end travel blog with great reviews based in the UK, has a bunch of travel auctions — some about to close, others extend into October — and there look to be some real bargains. Many of these are great auctions, without enough bidders, so the items go for way less than they should.
They wanted to highlight some of these, and offered to help organize a giveaway of a 4 night hotel stay in Paris for readers of this blog. Details on how to comment on this post to win below.
Since Hyatt Gold Passport elite benefits generally are provided even on stays that do not earn elite credit, I love that there are auctions ending at Hyatt properties in Palm Springs, Goa, Shanghai, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Singapore and Jakarta.
Not to mention all the great non-chain properties. For instance, as of this writing 4 nights in the Maldives are going for less than US$650. 5 nights in the Cook Islands — ending in mere days — are going for under $200 (checked yesterday). 3 nights on Maui with auction ending Saturday is pricing at $130 as I type.
The giveaway:
Prize: 4 nights in Paris at Hotel Eugene en Ville in a superior room with private terrace including buffet breakfast. The winner can redeem subject to availability between November 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016 (excluding December 31, January 19-24, February 14).
Hotel Eugene
While I haven’t stayed there I certainly would, it appears that three quarters of guests rate the property as very good or excellent on TripAdvisor and it would mean getting away from the chains and indulging in a more boutique contemporary experience for the City of Light. (That said my next stay in Paris will be at a chain because.. points.)
To enter: leave a comment on this post with your favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary, or why you would choose to stay at Hotel Eugene en Ville over other hotels in Paris. You may enter two times if you wish and answer those two questions one time each in separate comments.
Contest deadline and drawing winner: Entries close Friday, October 30 at Noon eastern. I will draw winner with the assistance of random.org.
The fine print: For avoidance of doubt I have no affiliation with either Luxury Travel Diary or Hotel Eugene en Ville. I will put the winner in touch with the prize provier for booking. They are solely responsible for providing prize to winner. All decisions made in the course of running this giveaway are final and unappealable and your entry signifies your acceptance of these terms. The goal here is to make readers aware of a pretty cool auction opportunity, and to give away a stay in Paris. So please don’t make it hard on me for doing so!
I would love to win the stay at the Park Hyatt Istanbul.
I would pick the Hotel Eugene en Ville because of its superior location.
my favorite so far is the five nights in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
I would choose the Hotel Eugene en Ville simply for something different and a more unique experience.
I would bid on the 2 Nights At The Park Hyatt Istanbul, Turkey since I love a Park Hyatt.

I have been bidding on the Mayan resort in Belize, still trying to win that one!
Hotel Eugene en Ville looks like an amazing location and walking distance to many things!
I would bid for the Maui property. Apart from the Sheraton Maui where Black Rock is, the Kihei area comes a close second in my opinion where the swimming is.
Note that bookings are “subject to availability”. Not much recourse if the auction site claims no availability on the dates you want to stay.
Grand Hyatt Singapore looks good at £201.00 – but I wish they had longer stays at the Hyatt properties
2 Pairs Of Tramps Bryanna S/M Compression Hosiery, obviously. DVT is no laughing matter.
Hotel Eugene en Ville has a great location – especially with the easy access to four subway lines
My fav auction now is AFITIS BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN CHALKIDIKI, GREECE because for the current bid it’s a great bargain to spend 5 nights there.
Maldives for sure….
We visit Paris often and have never heard of the Hotel Eugene en Ville. I just did some research and location looks great. I will be there in February anyway – this would make my trip awesome!

The location of Hôtel Eugène en Ville is so desirable!
Makunudu Island in Maldives looks amazing
I would love to take my long-distance girlfriend to the Hotel Eugene en Ville. She lives in London, I live in Kansas City. I’m going to visit her over Christmas, New Years and her birthday — all happening within ten days time. We have been talking about going somewhere special. Eugene en Ville looks like a romantic getaway, close to the Opera and located within the young and vibrant 9th Arrondissement. I would choose the Hotel Eugene en Ville because it’s less touristy and more local. Staying there would be a wonderful surprise.
I would love to go back to the Maldives if I could win the 4 NIGHTS AT MAKUNUDU ISLAND, MALDIVES.
Hotel Eugene en Ville looks amazing and the location is great!
I would stay at the Hotel Eugene en Ville over other hotels in Paris because it looks like a “hip” hotel.

Hotel Eugene en Ville without a doubt, looks great.
7 NIGHT STAY AT JANNAH BURJ AL SARAB IN ABU DHABI, UAE – a delux suite at a fraction of the price – that’s a deal (steal!)
The Park Hyatt Istanbul looks really amazing
I was looking at the Cook Island eco reservation until I researched the laws of the Cook Islands regarding homosexuality. Up to 7 years in prison for gay male sex. I am not sure if this is enforced, but people should be aware of the laws regarding GLBT travel in places they are thinking about going.
I’d stay at the Hotel Eugene en Ville because I really enjoy the look of the decor and style of the hotel, at least from their website.
Hotel Eugene has a great location in Paris, very convenient!
Gotta love 4 Nights in a Luxury Apartment in North Yorkshire. For starters, we can finally figure out what a luxury apartment in North Yorkshire is.
A stay for a few days on the right bank would be lovely and quite a departure from my usual haunts on the left… bank.
3 Nights At Waipuna Estate, Christchurch, New Zealand has a great view, would recommend to anyone!
Ooh, this definitely has my eye: 5 NIGHTS HOTEL TRES, PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN. Always wanted to visit that part of Spain!
As for l’Hotel Eugene en Ville — can’t beat that proximity to the Opera House. They do ballet there actually, you know.
IKURANGI ECO RETREAT IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC
