CDC Alert Triggered As O’Hare Customs Dog Goes Wild Over Maggot-Infested Bushmeat Off Amsterdam Flight

A customs dog alerted to a passenger’s bag off of an arriving Amsterdam flight in Chicago on Saturday and it’s no surprise. The contents were easy to smell: raw African bushmeat that had been decomposing for 30 hours in transit, infested with maggots. The dog was so agitated that it began tearing at the plastic wrap as soon as the luggage appeared.

Video of the find reveals several ziplocked bags of the meat crawling with the live infestation. Agents can be seen sorting through two suitcases by the luggage belt – in shock. According to the woman taking the video, the “smell was indescribable.”

@theposhvagabond Over the weekend the CDC had to be called to ohare international airport arrivals over what a hound alerted to in this womans bag- you will not believe what they found in this baggage arriving from africa @WGN News Chicago #abc7eyewitness #tsa ♬ original sound – theposhvagabond

Part 2- over the weekend the CDC has to be called into Ohare international terminal over what an agent had found in the passengers bags. The hound had alerted to the baggage’s before it had even hit the conveyor belt- it went absolutely nuts, when the luggage hit the belt the hound started ripping at the plastic wrap. An agent put both bags on the ground and began opening both- what she found was RAW BUSHMEAT FROM AFRICA. The passenger had been on a KLM flight that originated in Africa with a layover in Amsterdam. Which is over 30 hours of that raw meat sitting there- By the time it had arrived it was RANCID – the smell is unlike anything you’ll have ever smelled in your life – there were maggots crawling around in the bag – my question is this- how did this make it past security the first time , much less the second time when the smell should have alerted someone in Amsterdam. This is a BIG DEAL- bushmeat is one of the causes of EBOLA outbreaks- playing with others lives is unacceptable- @wgnmorningnews @wgnnews @abc7chicago

Customs officials identified items like “cow skin” and a “wrapped cow’s head” in the bags. The CDC was called, because the minimally processed meat from wild animals, such as antelope or primates, and can carry dangerous diseases, including Ebola, which can spread through handling or consuming infected animals. Ebola symptoms can appear between two and 21 days after exposure and can cause severe health issues, including bleeding, diarrhea, and vomiting. The fatality rate in previous outbreaks has ranged from 25% to 90%.

Videos of the interdiction have been viewed more than a combined 14 million times. Bringing bushmeat into the United States can result in a fine of up to $250,000.

In February a Delta flight, also from Amsterdam, turned back when coach passengers were showered with maggots from the overhead bin which contained rotten fish.

  1. No way anyone with a brain cares, or will ever listen to anything the CDC ever says again.

One of the most inept and corrupt institutions history has ever seen.

  2. @Sharon – My reaction, as well. What fool is handling contraband of any kind without gloves after the alert by the dog?

  3. @ Sharon &.yo yo

I thought it might be the image. Well I’ll bet that will never happen again again!

  4. Gross. Get the incinerator ready.

    I agree with Den.
After the C-19 lies and failures, I no longer consider the CDC, nor the WHO, to be trustworthy organizations.

  5. Ingest Clorox no need for gloves
Poor woman couldn’t enjoy her planned barbecue of delicacies for that night 🙁

  6. Bush Meat must be absolutely fantastic if people are so desperate to bring it to Chicago where there are plenty of other things to eat. Maybe instead of my trip to Port au Prince I’ll head to Kinshasa?

  7. Wow, Customs discovers maggot-infested game meat and the anti-CDC nuts are out in full force…

  8. Let us know what the actual fine is when it is applied. Odor is useful but not always an indication of something going bad. Opening ripe durian in a crowd not used to it can usually clear out the room.

  9. Den and delusional Patriot loser.

Thanks for your idiotic input. People like you never could understand biology or disease which explains why you have syphilis of the brain.

Dont worry about international travel. Stay in your lane….I mean trailer park

  10. @KHelldoge and @Captain Freedom, why do the comments of others trigger your hatred so much that you resort to disparaging name calling? Or perhaps your understanding of Free Speech is different than most.

  11. Kudos to the dog. Absolutely hilarious how a story as simple as this can trigger the anti-government crowd.

  12. @murikan.

Freedom of Speech goes both ways. If someone saws something stupid, one has the freedom of speech to call them out on it.

    Have a great day

  13. The right wing nut jobs and conspiracy freaks are out in force in this comments section. It is unreal how uneducated some people are.
