Last October I gave three talks at the Chicago Seminar DO (see here and here), a weekend-long event with talks on mileage running, getting the most of hotel and rental car programs, and my own talks on booking frequent flyer awards, benefits of the Star Alliance and easiest ways to qualify towards elite status, and taking best advantage of mistake deals.
I’ll be speaking again at the next one, which has now been scheduled for October 29-30.
Last year about 500 people attended, and they completely sold out the host hotel and had two overflow hotels.
The event hotel will again be the Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village, bookable here. I’m told this link is the only way to secure a reservation for the nights of the event, that the hotel is completely blcoked for the event and only reservations made under the code FLY (auto-populated by this link) will be honored. The rate is $79++ per night and includes one breakfast coupon per night. The first night is non-refundable, so if you book you’re on the hook. But the place will sell out, as I say last year there were two overflow hotels.
I’m told that event registration will begin on approximately March 15th and it will run $75 and include lunch both days of the vent.
Meanwhile there’s going to be an outstsanding educational event coming up in New York at the end of next month, beginning the day following the Frequent Traveler Awards … near LaGuardia on the evening of April 29 and all day on April 30 is Frequent Traveler University.. you’ll be seeing details here shortly.
How is the Frequent Traveler University in NYC different from the Chicago Seminar DO? Cheers
@John different locations, different times of year, i’ll share more soon.
Thanks for the heads-up. I grabbed a room for the October event.
Looking forward to more details on F.T.U.
