A couple of weeks ago I wrote that American Express Platinum cards would still get you into US Airways and American lounges through the end of April.
Platinum cards lost access a month ago. Citibank is now the sole issuer of cards that offer lounge access with the new American Airlines.
And they’ve got – by far – the best credit card offer in the market with a 100,000 mile signup bonus for their Executive Card which bundles American and US Airways lounge access.
This month they’re ready to tell you about this card in American and US Airways lounges. If you come in with a card that used to come with lounge access, they’ll give you a club pass (valid for a year).
They’ve also given me plenty of miles and club passes to give away here on the blog!
I stopped into one club yesterday. And I discovered that they weren’t just giving away lounge passes (I picked one up that I’ll give away this weekend at Frequent Traveler University) but also giving away swag. They had dark chocolate in credit card wrappers. I ate that.
I figured, since Citi is being especially generous right now, why not share that with readers? I reached out they’ve generously offered to provide readers with miles and lounge passes for me to give away (for full disclosure I am not being compensated by Citibank, nor am I keeping any of the prizes for myself).
Here are the prizes:
- Grand Prize: 25,000 American AAdvantage miles and 4 American Admirals Club passes
- Four Additional Prizes: 4 American Admirals Club passes (each)
So here’s how you enter.
- Leave a comment on this blog post. Answer the question, “what do you really like about an airline lounge?”
- Enter by Noon Eastern, Sunday April 27. That’s 5 days from this writing, and there are five prizes.
- Enter no more than 5 times. Five prizes, five days to enter, you can enter by commenting up to five times. (It doesn’t have to be one per day, it can be five in a row if you wish.)
- Five prize winners will be drawn at random. As in past, I will use random.org for the drawing.
- Fine print. Void where prohibited by law. All of my decisions are final and unappealable, I want to make giveaways as easy as possible and with the fewest headaches possible. Redemption of Admirals Club passes are subject to Admirals Club Terms of Service and AAdvantage miles are subject to AAdvantage program terms.
So, what do you really like about an airline lounge?

Comfy seating.
When for work…feeling like I’m on vacation. If only for a few moments.
Comfortable seating
Comfortable chairs
Free wifi
Peace and quiet.
Quiet area
Less crowded
Free Wifi!
They are a little more quite and have snacks.
It helps my girlfriend forgive that we are probably flying in coach.
Free food for my eating machine of a kid
I like the quiet and the more comfortable seating. Free wifi is great, so long as it works!
I don’t know, I’ve never been in one.
The best part about lounge access is being able to impress my wife and friends when we travel. Makes me look a like boss (even though it totally doesn’t)
Peace and quiet from the regular gates!
Wonderful to have calm and peace to get body and soul, and my plans together. Free wifi. Sometimes following a sporting event that is happening on our day to travel. Feeling special
Taking a shower in the club after a long night in South Beach! haha
I like a lounge with helpful attendants, so that I can get assistance rebooking if my flight was cancelled or delayed.
I also like lounges that have free drinks. If I’m stuck in an airport for a while, I could probably use a drink!
Good wi-fi is also important in a lounge… lets me get some work done, or at the very least, it gives me something to do…
Free food
Showers
A relaxing atmosphere and more comfortable seating arrangements.
@askmrlee Clubs with showers are sweet!
Free wifi
Free food is nice but not the most important thing to me. Usually there’s not much of it, or it’s not all that great.
Peace and quiet amid the chaos.
Open bar
Less crowding
Free food (particularly the ones at international lounges)
Showers at int’l lounges
Power outlets to recharge my devices
Helpful agents if rebookings are necessary
I like how lounges are usually quieter places than the usual chaos of the gate areas.
Peace and quiet.
I like the ambience and space to spread out. Also showers and food!
In some lounges, the view
I like other people picking up my garbage. I’m usually too embarrassed to leave it lying around at the gate but am happy to walk away from it when I know lounge butlers will bus it for me just like at home.
Free food and drinks!
Quiet place to wait for a connection
Food and water
I think I live everything about airline lounges since I’ve never been to one! Has to suffer through few long layovers myself but never did go to one of those swanky lounges to sleep over. Hope your offer will be my first! Thanks!
Quiet place to wait for a connections
Better chairs than the terminal, and wifi
Showers!
The oasis from the craziness
Free food and drink
Peace!!!!
The free beer hits the spot 🙂
