Comment Here for a Chance to Win Free Hyatt Points & Vegas Experiences

Earlier in the month Hyatt Gold Passport announced a great new partnership with MGM’s M Life program. Gold Passport members can earn and redeem points at the 12 Las Vegas M Life properties. And starting in August there’s reciprocal status as well. Which is great, because I’m not an especially high roller so the M Life status will help me feel a bit more like Sinatra around that city or at least around MGM’s properties (“Don’t you know who I am?!” :).

The major hotel chains are hugely underrepresented on the Vegas strip (though Marriott has Cosmopolitan and IHG has the Venetian). This hotel program “codesharing” fills a real gap — it instantly gives Hyatt the biggest major chain loyalty program presence in the city with the most hotel rooms of any other. And it could form the blueprint for future strategic deals which give members access and recognition in markets that they didn’t have before.

Here’s some additional Q&A I did with Hyatt giving details of the new partnership.

I’m pretty excited about it, since for me Vegas is an underexplored destination. Sure, I’ve tipped at checkin at Bellagio for an upgrade ($100 for a 5 bathroom suite). And I’ve visited on business and eaten off the strip. But this will likely get me to visit a bit more, and I’ll probably check out Vdara.

Hyatt is apparently pretty excited about it, too, since they offered me some things to give away to a lucky reader of the blog to celebrate their new partnership and benefits.

  • 22,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points (enough for a night at any Hyatt redemption property in the world, any MGM M Life participating resort in Las Vegas, or multiple nights if redeeming for lower redemption tier properties).
  • Two tickets to a show at a MGM Resorts location in Las Vegas – your choice of – “O” at Bellagio, Zarkana at ARIA, KÀ at MGM Grand, The Beatles LOVE at The Mirage, Jabbawockeez “PRiSM” at Luxor, Blue Man Group at Monte Carlo, Zumanity at New York-New York, or Tournament of Kings at Excalibur
  • One of the following MGM Resorts experiences (Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage, or The Roller Coaster at New York-New York).

Sound interesting? Would you like to win? Here’s how.

The 12 MGM hotels that Hyatt Gold Passport members now have access to are:

  • Category 2: Excalibur
  • Category 3: Luxor
  • Category 4: Monte Carlo, New York New York
  • Category 5: MGM Grand, Signature at MGM Grand, Vdara, Mirage
  • Category 6: Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay

All you need to do is:

In the comments, answer the question, answer the question “Where would you most want to redeem points in Vegas, and will anything ‘stay in Vegas’ on that trip?”

And then there’s always ‘fine print’:

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.
  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Friday, June 28 at 5pm Eastern time.
  • Must be 21 to enter and a Hyatt Gold Passport member to win (if you aren’t a member already you should be — but you can join if you win).
  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).
  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to give out some cool prizes and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? Contact me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the experience.

  1. Mandalay Bay.

I’d like to take everything home with me (plus a little extra) from Vegas – nothing stays!

  2. Aria. and what wouldn’t stay in Vegas would be the pictures I take of my meals!

  3. Aria is a place I’ve always wanted to stay. I’d probably take my wife and she LOVES social media so I doubt anything will stay in Vegas longer than 2 minutes after it happened haha

  4. The Bellagio for the water show. heard great things. I wouldnt expect anything to stay in Vegas…

  5. I wouldn’t mind staying at Aria since my wife and I haven’t stayed there yet. The only thing staying in Vegas will be a few dollars at the slots.

  6. Aria and Bellagio are the two hotels I would like to stay when I am in Las Vegas. They are just wonderful!

  7. Bellagio for me. i have stayed at hotel in all other categories. Hard for me to pony up $ to stay in a pricey place like that

  8. I’d stay at the Mirage, and I would expect some of my $ would stay in Vegas. 🙁

  9. I’d most want to redeem them at THEhotel and yes, what happens there will stay there.

  10. Aria. I’m sure some cash might stay behind and you can be sure that I wouldn’t tell anyone I gambled unless I won (not likely).

  11. I would redeem my points at Vdara in Vegas, and my prowess on the dance floor will stay there!

  12. I would redeem points for the Bellagio and leave far too much money in the slots.

  13. Aria is my fav MGM property in Vegas. And let’s just say I liked Vegas a lot more back in the pre-camera phone days…

  14. “Where would you most want to redeem points in Vegas, and will anything ‘stay in Vegas’ on that trip?” I’d try the MGM Signature. Nothing will probably stay in Vegas. What happens in Vegas stays on Facebook or Youtube.

  15. “Where would you most want to redeem points in Vegas, and will anything ‘stay in Vegas’ on that trip?” I’d stay at THEhotel. Nothing will stay in Vegas.

  16. I am partial to the MGM Grand so I’d stay there (its very central).

Unfortunately, what stays in Vegas is usually my money. 🙁

  17. I would stay at the Aria and the only thing that would stay in Vegas will be my money

  18. Would like to stay at Aria. Nothing will stay in Vegas since I’m a good boy.

  19. I would redeem points for Vdara. The Thunder from Down under will stay in Vegas when I visit

  20. I would redeem at MGM to stay in their SkyLofts. And everything always stays in Vegas!

  21. Mandalay Bay, and the only thing staying in Vegas are my Gold Passport points and a little ca$h.

  22. I would most want to redeem points at the Bellagio … and my last day as a single white female will stay in Vegas since I’m getting married there in October!

  23. Last time I was Vegas, I stayed at Circus Circus — might want to go a bit more upmarket the next time ! Perhaps Bellagio?

  24. Signature at MGM Grand. so Hakkasan is only a few steps away. All shall be left behind after a night at Hakkasan!

  25. I’d want to stay at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. My guess is my money will stay in Vegas.

  26. i’d likely stay in the bellagio cause of PRIME steakhouse, one of the Jean Georges spots I haven’t been to yet.

as to what would ‘stay in vegas’ apart from my money in the casino would probably be everything after 2am.

havent yet been to vegas, would love to go as a loyal reader.

    thanks

  27. New York New York

No – I plan on going with my younger brother and sister! So the cash will stay behind but the stories will come back (but not to haunt me!)

  28. I’d stay at the Mandalay Bay, given its fantastic reputation.
My money will stay in Vegas!

  29. Aria definitely. I always contribute to the local economy by leaving money behind, although the amount varies.

  30. With Hyatt adding MGM Vegas to their list of partners, I think I know where I will redeem my points!

  31. I would love to stay at Bellagio, I stay at Mandalay for work a few times a year but never Bellagio. Something always stays in Vegas!

  32. Would like to stay at the MGM Grand, especially if there are any championship UFC fights at the MGM Grand Arena.

All my money would be staying in Vegas (as usual)
