Earlier in the month Hyatt Gold Passport announced a great new partnership with MGM’s M Life program. Gold Passport members can earn and redeem points at the 12 Las Vegas M Life properties. And starting in August there’s reciprocal status as well. Which is great, because I’m not an especially high roller so the M Life status will help me feel a bit more like Sinatra around that city or at least around MGM’s properties (“Don’t you know who I am?!” :).
The major hotel chains are hugely underrepresented on the Vegas strip (though Marriott has Cosmopolitan and IHG has the Venetian). This hotel program “codesharing” fills a real gap — it instantly gives Hyatt the biggest major chain loyalty program presence in the city with the most hotel rooms of any other. And it could form the blueprint for future strategic deals which give members access and recognition in markets that they didn’t have before.

Here’s some additional Q&A I did with Hyatt giving details of the new partnership.
I’m pretty excited about it, since for me Vegas is an underexplored destination. Sure, I’ve tipped at checkin at Bellagio for an upgrade ($100 for a 5 bathroom suite). And I’ve visited on business and eaten off the strip. But this will likely get me to visit a bit more, and I’ll probably check out Vdara.
Hyatt is apparently pretty excited about it, too, since they offered me some things to give away to a lucky reader of the blog to celebrate their new partnership and benefits.
- 22,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points (enough for a night at any Hyatt redemption property in the world, any MGM M Life participating resort in Las Vegas, or multiple nights if redeeming for lower redemption tier properties).
- Two tickets to a show at a MGM Resorts location in Las Vegas – your choice of – “O” at Bellagio, Zarkana at ARIA, KÀ at MGM Grand, The Beatles LOVE at The Mirage, Jabbawockeez “PRiSM” at Luxor, Blue Man Group at Monte Carlo, Zumanity at New York-New York, or Tournament of Kings at Excalibur
- One of the following MGM Resorts experiences (Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage, or The Roller Coaster at New York-New York).
Sound interesting? Would you like to win? Here’s how.
The 12 MGM hotels that Hyatt Gold Passport members now have access to are:
- Category 2: Excalibur
- Category 3: Luxor
- Category 4: Monte Carlo, New York New York
- Category 5: MGM Grand, Signature at MGM Grand, Vdara, Mirage
- Category 6: Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay
All you need to do is:
- In the comments, answer the question, answer the question “Where would you most want to redeem points in Vegas, and will anything ‘stay in Vegas’ on that trip?”
And then there’s always ‘fine print’:
- You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.
- All entries (comments) must be received no later than Friday, June 28 at 5pm Eastern time.
- Must be 21 to enter and a Hyatt Gold Passport member to win (if you aren’t a member already you should be — but you can join if you win).
- I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).
- I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to give out some cool prizes and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.
Any questions? Contact me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the experience.

Don’t miss out!
The Bellagio…and most likely all my money would stay in Vegas!
I would stay at Aria. My money will stay in Vegas.
Aria! Usually all my money stays in Vegas.
I would like to try the Bellagio. Everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas 😉
I would stay at the Bellagio. After I leave, my hooker would stay in Vegas.
I’d stay at Bellagio. Would leave a few $ in Vega$.
Aria and it will not stay in Vegas.
The Bellagio. I can’t say what will stay in Vegas because it hasn’t happened yet.
I would most want to redeem points at the Bellagio for a room with a view of the foutain. And, the most likely thing that would “stay in Vegas” on my trip will be all my money.
Aria and will leave my heart.
I’d stay at Luxor. Most of my money and maybe my dignity.
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. My wild alter ego will stay in Vegas.
Bellagio would be my choice. Just my money will stay in Vegas.
I want to stay at any hotel with the giant floor to ceiling windows…like the scene in the movie 21!
I probably wouldn’t redeem my open Hyatt points for a stay, but if I won them, I would probably stay at the Luxor. It looks so cool on the outside.
I would stay in Aria and what happens in vegas stays in vegas
I would be most interested in staying at the Vdara!
I would go for the Mirage. And of course nothing actually stays in Vegas…social media has made quite sure of that 🙂
I want most to redeem those points at the Belagio – have always wanted to stay there when I visit Vegas. And of course nothing will stay in Vegas – what’s the fun in keeping secrets?!?! 😉
Where would you most want to redeem points in Vegas, and will anything ‘stay in Vegas’ on that trip?
I may redeem points for excalibur when the booking rate for the others does not make sense in high season.
I’ve never stayed at any of the MGM properties, so I plan on checking several of them out in the near future..as a Diamond Hyatt member. Aria is #1 on the list.
Many things will likely stay in Vegas, since there are many tings that are the most fun to do in Vegas. 🙂
Bellagio for me! And nothing needs to stay in Vegas!
I would love to redeem the points at the Bellagio as I’ve been to Vegas many times but never stayed there.
Hopefully nothing would stay in Vegas! Haha.
I would really like to redeem some points to stay at the Aria. Really just a beautiful hotel. Also what stays in Vegas, as always, is most of my money (saved from not paying for hotels haha)
I’d redeem at the Bellagio, and if I told you what would be staying in Vegas, it wouldn’t really have stayed there, would it? 😉
I would want to stay at THEHOTEL at Mandalay & I’m guessing whats going to stay in Vegas on that trip is my $ at the craps table
I’d stay at Bellagio – and what’d stay in Vegas is likely my blackjack chips!
Bellagio – NO
I would stay at Mirage. Leave a few dollars in Vegas.
I would redeem points at the Bellagio, and if something is going to stay in Vegas, I certainly wouldn’t share it on here 😉
Bellagio – My money!
Redeem at the Bellagio and LOTS will stay behind.
I would love to redeem points to stay at the Bellagio. And since I’m not wild and crazy anymore, I doubt that anything that happens in Vegas will stay there. 🙂
Luxor – Nope
At Mirage.
I’d stay in the Bellagio. I hope that nothing (like in Bethselamin) would have to be surgically removed
I would stay at the bellagio for sure, and the only thing that would stay in Vegas would be the $100 that I will inevitably lose in 20 minutes of blackjack.
I would redeem points at the best hotel in Las Vegas which is is the Bellagio and the nightlife stories of my trip would definitely “stay in Vegas”
I’d like to stay at the Bellagio — I’ve wanted to ever since Ocean’s 11. Something always stays in vegas, but it’s usually just my money.
I’d splurge for one night at Bellagio just because I’ll never stay there otherwise, but otherwise I like the value at New York-New York. And of course things will stay in Vegas, like my money and my liver at least!
I would love to stay at Aria. And, EVERYTHING that will happen in Vegas will stay in Vegas.
I’d stay at the Bellagio, and nothing would stay there!
At the Bellagio! And if what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, then I’m not telling here!
Bellagio. My dignity will stay in vegas.
I’d love to redeem points at the Bellagio! And the only thing that’ll stay in Vegas will be my dignity.
I would love to take my wife for a weekend at the Bellagio!
I would stay at Mandalay Bay and my excuse that I’ve never been to Vegas will stay in Vegas.
I’d try out the Bellagio. Hopefully, not too much money stays in Vegas.
I’d redeem the points at Aria, and everything is staying in Vegas that trip 🙂
Bellagio. Stays in Vegas
