All business class airline La Compagnie is advertising a special roundtrip Newark – Paris fare of $1400. But that’s not even their best deal.
They’re running two flights between Newark and close-in Paris-Orly airport. Their Boeing 757 has angled seats in business class. Their new A321neo has flat seats. They do seem to be charging modestly more for their neo flight.
That’s not what I find interesting, although it will be to New Yorkers looking for decent comfort at a good price to Paris.
La Compagnie also flies Newark – Nice. Prices start around the same.
However they will also book you to Monaco and include the helicopter transfers to and from the Nice airport. (HT: Premium Flights)
Your helicopter departs 25 minutes after your flight lands in Nice, and they have you in Monaco 7 minutes later.
It’s like an UberChopper but it’s included with your ticket. Now, I’m actually afraid of helicopters and I think this dates to the New York Airways helicopter crash on top of the Pan Am Building (now Met Life Building) when I was a toddler. It was 38 years before I was willing to go up in one.
Still, business class to Monaco for under $1600 roundtrip is pretty baller.
Your New York Airways reference got me searching…
The same pilot and flight attendant were involved in another crash at EWR a couple years later
