Delta Passenger Grabs Fire Extinguisher, Comes Out Spraying After Stealing Chicken Wings In Atlanta

A passenger stormed Delta Air Lines gate D7 at the Atlanta airport, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and came out spraying. According to a witness, the woman dined and dashed from Buffalo Wild Wings. When she was asked to pay she unleashed herself on the rest of the terminal. This happened last January but I’d forgotten the story until Matthew Klint just wrote about it.

Here’s additional video showing “children running from her and dozens of concerned travelers on edge.”

Given the number of law enforcement officers on site at major airports, from numerous agencies, and cameras everywhere it always seems as though there should be a faster response time.

Nonetheless police do eventually respond and while it’s difficult to tell through the cloudy air in the terminal it doesn’t appear that she’s resisting particularly vigorously when an officer declares, “stop resisting!”

I have to wonder though if she was just frustrated by why so many airport restaurants are just downright bad. And don’t tell me you like One Flew South, that’s on Atlanta’s E concourse and people like to anchor themselves near their gate.

  1. America continues the slide into 3rd World status. How low can it go is the question.

  2. A January 2023 story. No report on whether she has been instructed on the proper use of a fire extinguisher since then.

  3. I travel a lot, most everyone I encounter is normal and often friendly. The occasional person that is having mental issues and “goes viral” on the internet are outliers. Ray, if you want to base your perception on social media and blogs you have a point. America appears to be a giant Jerry Springer show, reality is most people are better than that. As the saying goes…”if you meet a jerk, you’ve met a jerk, if you meet a lot of jerks, than your the jerk”

  4. I generally find it is not a particularly good idea to eat at any food service place in any airport. These places charge exorbitant prices for crappy food. Bring your own from home and save the money and the upset stomach.

  5. If you’re seeking a premium travel experience, please consider loitering at a Delta Airlines gate.

  6. When I steal chicken wings I usually follow it by throwing beverages at people, the fire extinguisher is a nice touch though!

  7. We have become a nation of wimps. The crowd did nothing. Travel blanket or travel umbrella, and something to cover your face would have taken this little troublemaker down. As it was a fire extinguisher deflecting the spray could have given her a taste of her own stupidity.

  8. How pathetic, not one employee or bystander knocked her down? No wonder freaks are emboldened to act like clowns.

  9. Instead of discharging a fire extinguisher at a Delta Air Lines gate, this passenger should consider taking the Buffalo Wild Wings “Blazin’ Wings Challenge. Customers who think they can take the heat can test their tastebuds by eating 12 of the restaurant’s hottest wings in under 6 minutes. Make sure to follow the rules: No drinks, no dipping sauces, no puking, and absolutely no crying. If you complete the challenge, you’ll take a free Buffalo Wild Wings T-shirt home, which you can wear at the airport or on your next flight.

  10. This woman is obviously mentally ill, and not worthy of you further exploiting it for clicks. do better

  11. Thought maybe she was creating a cloud to disappear into the crowd like a magician. Imagine a complete change of clothes and she is sitting at the next gate reading the AJC and no one is any wiser to her bag of tricks.

  12. @Matt: As a premium global airline, at the Delta Air Lines gates, hopefully Delta uses only premium fire extinguishers and the police use only premium handcuffs.
