Delta launched a partnership with Airbnb in November, becoming the third airline to do so after Virgin America and Qantas.
They started out just offering 1 mile per dollar spent with Airbnb:
Now they’ve tripled that for a limited time and introduced a 2000 mile first-stay bonus. Bookings made by April 30 and complete by April 30, 2018 qualify.
If you rent out a place you can earn up to 25,000 bonus miles based on earnings through October 31:
- 2,500 bonus miles when you reach your first $250 in qualifying Host Earnings
- 7,500 bonus miles when you reach a cumulative $1,000 in qualifying Host Earnings
- 15,000 bonus miles when you reach a cumulative $2,500 in qualifying Host Earnings
Maxing out this bonus if, say, you rented your place to a spouse would net you 25,000 miles at a cost of about a third of a cent per mile. Even though Delta only wants their miles to be worth a penny apiece that’s a deal worth taking.
Gary,
How is that .3 cents per mile given the fees AirBnb charges both parties?
Exactly. Factoring that in the points would come to about 1c each.
Check your pricing before booking as it apears there is higher pricing on Delta site. I checked an existing reservation I have for $183 and it priced out at $211….same place same dates.
