Dubai Flight Hijacker Killed, 148 Passengers and Crew Safe

A passenger on board Biman Bangladesh flight BG147 from Dhaka to Chittagong to Dubai attempted to hijack the plane, informing crew that he had a gun and some reports also suggest a bomb.

There were 148 passengers and crew on the aircraft. Bangladeshi security forces stormed the aircraft and shot and killed the man, everyone else was evacuated safely.

When the Boeing 737-800 touched down in it was cordoned off and surrounded by officers, who attempted to communicate with the suspect.

According to Bangladeshi officials the alleged hijacker asked to speak to his wife and to the country’s prime minister who was visiting Chittagong. Officials say they found a gun on the 25 year old, although did not immediately confirm that the gun was real.

After the man was shot he was taken off the scene, and reported died shortly thereafter.

  1. Hi there,
First of all, I’m glad he got shot and no one other than him was hurt! I am wondering though how long they were in the air with this going on and how they restrained him until landing???? Nikki
