Earn Triple Hyatt Points On Short-Term Rentals

Last fall Hyatt launched a short-term rental booking platform called Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt. It’s similar to Marriott Homes & Villas.

They aren’t renting out their own Airbnbs. They’re sourcing short-term rentals and marketing them for a commission, and rebating some of that revenue to you in the form of points and stay credit. You can also redeem points at modest-low value against these stays.

To date, I haven’t been impressed by their coverage. To be honest, I even forget to check their offerings in those limited cases where I’m interested in a short-term rental rather than a hotel (destinations where hotels are scarce, or where I’m looking for several bedrooms).

Hyatt would like to change that! They’re offering triple points – no registration required – on stays completed between August 21, 2024, and November 3, 2024.

You will receive ten (10) Bonus Points per eligible dollar spent on your Eligible Stay. This is in addition to the five (5) Base Points you would earn as your base earning. For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Stay” is defined as any stay where a member is paying an Eligible Rate. You must be a World of Hyatt member at the time of booking and stay to benefit from this offer and must provide your World of Hyatt membership number prior to check in for each stay. Please allow two to four weeks after checkout for Bonus Points to be posted to your World of Hyatt account. Except as expressly stated, this promotion is not valid with other offers, promotions or discounts.

For the limited destinations available through the platform it seems worth at least checking whether it makes sense to book through Hyatt. But it is also likely you’ll find the same property as well as similar properties through other platforms. Compare price, and compare rewards, to figure out the best site to book (including direct through the property’s manager who may discount your stay considering they’d save significantly on commissions). Just search for the property’s photos on other sites to find the details you need.

  1. Don’t bother. Until Hyatt makes it easier to find the dates when these properties are available, there’s no point wasting time hunting through the morass they present.
