Enter Here to Win a Seat on Star MegaDO 4!

BoardingArea is giving away two seats on the upcoming Star MegaDO 4. And the winners will even have their hotel accommodations paid for plus a little spending money as well.

It’s the ultimate frequent flyer adventure. Join a couple hundred of your newest frequent flyer enthusiast friends, meeting with airline executives, getting behind the scenes tours, bringing home amazing souvenirs and memories, and earning bonus elite qualifying miles in the MileagePlus program along the way.

Details of the program were released at the launch party. The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, November 13 in San Francisco. Wednesday flies San Francisco to Houston on the charter, a newly refurbished 767-400. Thursday is Houston to Chicago. And there’ll be plenty of United senior managers involved, other Star Alliance partners in San Francisco, and a whole bunch of major surprises along the way.

Here are official hotel details. Hyatt is a sponsor, and there’s a Hyatt Gold Passport promotion as part of the MegaDO. And there’s an optional Cowboy Day at the end of the MegaDO in Chicago.

For more information on the event, here is Milepoint’s forum for Star MegaDO 4.

January’s oneworld MegaDO was featured on the front page of the business section of USA Today and also in an Associated Press story that hit about 70 papers. Top media are ticketed for this event as well.

So here’s how you can enter..

How it Works: One person will be chosen at random to win an entry from this post. Each participating blog will have one winner. (Other BoardingArea blogs will also be giving away an entry this week.) The two BoardingArea winners will be drawn from the individual entrants chosen on each blog.

What You Need to Do: Answer the question, “Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?” You may only enter once here at View from the Wing. Enter by 11:59pm Mountain time on October 7.

The Prize: A reserved aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen on the upcoming StarMegaDo 2012, hotel accommodations, and $250 for personal expenses. There will be a total of two total winners chosen at BoardingArea.

Additional details on the contest can be found here. You must be 18 to enter and will be responsible for your own positioning flights (to San Francisco for the start of the MegaDO and back home from Chicago).

So to enter, Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?

And to be clear, this question is just based on ‘what’s new at United’, the airline we’re working with on the charter.

Good luck, and giddy up!

  1. Yes! I visited the Boeing factory in Everett, WA a couple of years ago and saw this plane being built. Ever since that tour I have been looking forward to flying on this plane.

  2. Definitely excited. I’ve seen it take-off and land many times living 20 mins away from KPAE – it’s a beautiful bird. 🙂

  3. Yes – the additional humidity and lower pressurized altitude should make for a very comfortable

  4. Yes, of course excited – because it flies non-stop from my home airport SJC to NRT (a good connection to other places in Asia) and also – the entrance to the plane is a huge open area with NO galleys – which creates an awesome experience of connecting the human (passenger) with the flight that he/she is going to take. Its more human than any other plane there has been in that regard. Sheer joy, to say the least :).

  5. Yes I am very excited about traveling United Airline’s 787 and I feel the new plane is so cool that it is possibly capable of time travel, like in The Twilight Zone episode, “The Odyssey of Flight 33” but they make it home ‘cuz it’s a 787!

  6. Unfortunately, I’m not excited for the new UA 787. No major improvement to the hard product and the soft product is still inconsistent. United has some stiff competition with its partners at Star, so I hope as the integration continues, we’ll see a truly competitive product worthy of the magnificent plane that the 787 is!

  7. Yes! I’m very excited about United’s new Boeing 787 because this sleek modern plane will provide its passengers with a smooth, comfortable, and quiet ride!

  8. I am definitely excited about the 787. But I’d be more excited if they were replaced the 757’s on TATL routes!

  9. Driving past it on the way to work all last week, I’d love to be flying in it heading far away from work instead.

  10. Yes – I’m excited for United 787 because its about time we had something new to fly wih. Most planes are old and feel like a less fun school bus from the 60s.

  11. Who wouldn’t be excited in flying a new aircraft? I can’t wait to fly on modern-day planes on United and not on their ancient last century birds!

  12. Yes! Because I’m excited about the lower cabin altitude and bigger windows on my way to 1k status!!!

  13. I’m extremely excited, because I expect it to actually service the international routes I fly, and it looks like one hell of a plane!

  14. No, and I will tell Randy he can kiss my arse if he’s sitting next to me and still has his head up his arse about AA and AwardWallet.
