Enter Here to Win a Seat on Star MegaDO 4!

BoardingArea is giving away two seats on the upcoming Star MegaDO 4. And the winners will even have their hotel accommodations paid for plus a little spending money as well.

It’s the ultimate frequent flyer adventure. Join a couple hundred of your newest frequent flyer enthusiast friends, meeting with airline executives, getting behind the scenes tours, bringing home amazing souvenirs and memories, and earning bonus elite qualifying miles in the MileagePlus program along the way.

Details of the program were released at the launch party. The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, November 13 in San Francisco. Wednesday flies San Francisco to Houston on the charter, a newly refurbished 767-400. Thursday is Houston to Chicago. And there’ll be plenty of United senior managers involved, other Star Alliance partners in San Francisco, and a whole bunch of major surprises along the way.

Here are official hotel details. Hyatt is a sponsor, and there’s a Hyatt Gold Passport promotion as part of the MegaDO. And there’s an optional Cowboy Day at the end of the MegaDO in Chicago.

For more information on the event, here is Milepoint’s forum for Star MegaDO 4.

January’s oneworld MegaDO was featured on the front page of the business section of USA Today and also in an Associated Press story that hit about 70 papers. Top media are ticketed for this event as well.

So here’s how you can enter..

How it Works: One person will be chosen at random to win an entry from this post. Each participating blog will have one winner. (Other BoardingArea blogs will also be giving away an entry this week.) The two BoardingArea winners will be drawn from the individual entrants chosen on each blog.

What You Need to Do: Answer the question, “Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?” You may only enter once here at View from the Wing. Enter by 11:59pm Mountain time on October 7.

The Prize: A reserved aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen on the upcoming StarMegaDo 2012, hotel accommodations, and $250 for personal expenses. There will be a total of two total winners chosen at BoardingArea.

Additional details on the contest can be found here. You must be 18 to enter and will be responsible for your own positioning flights (to San Francisco for the start of the MegaDO and back home from Chicago).

So to enter, Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?

And to be clear, this question is just based on ‘what’s new at United’, the airline we’re working with on the charter.

Good luck, and giddy up!

  3. Yes and no. Yes its new and has features that are cool (pressurization) but also i don’t fly those routes often. Now if the new 737Max or A320neo … that’s a different story

  4. Yes, absolutely. American carriers need to at least try to keep up with the rest of the world, and the 787 gives United at least a chance.

  5. United’s new 787 makes me get excited! I am retired and travel a lot abroad, so I’m dreaming about a quiet, comfortable and relaxing flight on the 787 with United.

  6. No, not when when they’re using the exact same average-at-best seats as a PMCO 777 but in a smaller airframe

  7. Yes. I’m looking forward to flying new routes from the US to other parts of the world.

  8. Yes, another good reason to be a UA flyer out of Houston! (It looked great hanging out at the maintenance stand this weekend too!)

  9. I’m excited about it because of the Carbon Fiber, and because it’s pressurized to 6000 feet instead of 8000 feet!

  10. I’m excited about UA’s new 787 basically because it is new … an airplane with the latest technology, and passenger-oriented features.

  11. Yes; in part because it is new and I’ve never been on one before, but also because I am intrigued by the enhancements designed to make flying better and if they work, I hope to see them on other planes as well!

  12. How can you not be excited about a new plane?? Yes I would love to fly it.. It would be cool to fly in and out of Denver at a pressurized altitude less then what I live at.

  13. MOST DEFINITELY!!
HUGE SPACIOUS PLANE WITH FUEL EFFICIENT SYSTEM AND CLEANER AIR FILTERS..I’D LOVE TO GO TO THE CARIBBEAN IN THE NEW QUIETER CABIN AND BE A PART OF THE REVOLUTIONARY ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMING PLANE..

  14. Yes, excited to lower my carbon footprint. Now if all the hypocrites like George Clooney would follow suit and fly United instead of their own private jets…

  15. Larger windows to help you get over the sensation that you’re stuck inside a can of sardines 🙂
