oneworld airline and American Airlines joint venture partner Japan Airlines has some amazing fares to Singapore from all its US gateways.
You can fly from Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York to Singapore for about $325 roundtrip. Flights from Boston, Dallas, San Diego, and San Francisco are slightly higher.
Key details:
- Travel permitted August 25 through December 6 in each direction
- $250 change fee
- 3 month maximum stay
Availability at this pricing is pretty good, here’s what lowest fares look like in October:
Here’s a sample itinerary, New York – Singapore via Tokyo for $328 roundtrip. Nice easy connections, too.
This fare is $100 each way plus taxes.
‘N’ fares earn 30% of miles flown when credited to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and 30% of miles flown when crediting to American AAdvantage.
For a 20,137 mile roundtrip that’s ~ 6040 redeemable miles earned, worth about $90.
It’s a great opportunity to see Singapore, one of my favorite cities.
This fare is INSANE! Since it’s exactly $100 each way, could it be a mistake?
30% RDM but 50% EQM on AA, right?
Any way I could just get off at Japan, and not go all the way to Singapore?
@Brandon : you *can*, but the rest of your ticket will be auto cancelled, so you’re paying $329 for a one-way ticket to Japan, good but not great.
Well that sucks… by the time i checked out it was gone
Can’t think of many things worse than flying in coach that far…
This has been kicking around the web since last night. I saw it first on Dansdeals. Given the crazy price, I’m surprised it didn’t get wider attention sooner.
The trip from NYC is crazy long — like 25 hours — but Japan Airlines does have about the best coach economy service in the world, so it will be bearable for most.
Given the low mileage/elite earning potential of the fare, though, I haven’t seen any logical reason to book this flight unless you want to go to Singapore. Which certainly is a good idea, if you have enough time to justify the very long flights.
Can you buy these tickets and then upgrade to suites with points?
Sorry not suites i meant first since its japan airlines.
gary: that first screenshot: which website is that from?

I can’t seem to find this fare any longer for any dates. Any advise or is it pulled already?
Probably already sold out seeing how incredibly cheap it is. Japan Airlines coach is very acceptable with a nice layover in NRT (mid-way) makes it a great deal.
Can I fly from Singapore to Chicago,r.t.?
