A woman was reportedly removed from a United Airlines flight after making racist remarks – and trying to open the emergency exit door. As she was ushered off the aircraft, the first class cabin burst into laughter.
Her final moments as a passenger were captured on video. She had reportedly been “screaming racist things” and tried to “open the plane’s door while in flight,” leading the captain to divert the flight.
Details about the incident, including the flight date and route, remain unknown. As police officers escorted the woman off the aircraft, a first class passenger decided to play the theme from Curb Your Enthusiasm, sparking a fit of laughter throughout the cabin. Despite the commotion, the woman calmly checked her phone on her way off the aircraft.
Last year a Delta Air Lines passenger was called out by their seat opponent over racist texts that weren’t kept private. Nothing happened to the passenger, though, other than having to sit uncomfortably for the flight after being exposed.

There’s an apocryphal story that’s made rounds on the internet since at least the late 1990s about a racist passenger complaining about being seated next to someone they deemed undesirable and demanding a flight attendant do something about it – and she did, upgrading the victim of this racism. The story was even turned into a public service advertisement in Portugal.
In this case, the passengers were already seated in first class! And the racist text woman no longer was.

Dollars to donuts the woman wasn’t racist. I was called racist in this blog’s comment section yesterday for identifying an Uber Eats support agent as Indian. That’s all. I said the agent was Indian. I didn’t say Indians were dumb and smelly, or anything bad. Or good. I didn’t say anything. Just Indian.
And I got called a disgusting racist.
So pardon me if I don’t believe prima facie the woman was wrong in any way.

I’ve been blamed for the same by my overly-correct daughter, an English professor. She told me the correct way to phrase this is “the call was answered by an outsourced employee in India” or “the rep had a thick Asian accent that I didn’t understand”.
This matter of semantics is nonsensical. It makes me bristle that I have to pussyfoot around when she knows what I am trying to say. But in order to maintain the family peace…

It should be noted that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a lifelong Democrat, recently joined Team MAGA. In his case, he wants to Make America Healthy Again and we should all support his mission.
It’s too bad aircraft don’t have an airlock so that unruly passengers could simply be ejected. Pirate ships had an efficient method of getting rid of undesirables… Make them walk the plank.
Of course the FAA would most likely require the ejectee wear a belt with ADS B Out in the interest of avoiding a potential midair collision with aircraft.
