Flight Goes Off The Rails: Passengers Party On Seats, Hang From Overhead Bins As Crew Vanishes

Two passengers on Argentinian ultra-low cost carrier Flybondi are dancing – not in the aisles or at their seats, but on other passengers’ seats, standing up and using the overhead bins to keep themselves upright. The woman manages to get jiggy with it sans the assistance of the bins, while her male counterpart launches himself backwards into the mosh pit of fans at their seats.

Here’s video from inside the cabin:

Cabin crew are noticeably absent here. Maybe they just appreciate that the guy here is flying more than Flybondi. And when this carrier doesn’t leave you stranded, it’s time to celebrate!

As a fee-based airline, if they were interested in onboard order, they might require everyone to agree up front to rules like ‘no social dancing’ or disturbances or else a fee will be automatically charged their credit card on file?

  1. When I read Bondi, I could not help but think of Australia. No worries, mate. This airline is an Outback Steakhouse, no rules, just right.

  2. I love the mixed metaphor “flight goes off the rails.” As for the video, I would be quite concerned if I were another passenger. Yet another reason not to fly ULCCs.

  3. I’ve been to Argentina a couple of times recently. I couldn’t believe the amount of partying those folks do, starting on Friday afternoon. Then they take a breather from around 9 pm (dinner, a nap) and start again at midnight, keep going until 7 or 8 am. And I thought Spain and Italy were crazy – Argentina has them beat by a mile.

  4. @Ron: That also takes using the overhead luggage bins to launch yourself into the aircraft mosh pit to a whole new level. When you connect in Buenos Aires to fly to Puerto Madryn, one of the most prominent cities in the province of Chubut, using Flybondi, you will experience the free entertainment value of travel with Argentina’s first ultra-low-cost carrier.

  5. @Raphael: I’m with you. I much prefer full service carriers like United where businessmen take a dump on the meal cart or take off their shirts and rub the crew.
