American Express has partnered with Escape lounges to offer ‘Centurion Studio’ lounges which are smaller spaces with quality food and beverage offerings. Currently they are 12 Centurion Studios in 10 airports and a new one is coming to the Fort Lauderdale airport in terminal 3.
Terminal 3 (the ‘Purple Terminal’) is home to American Airlines and JetBlue along with Avelo, Azul, and Air Transat and is connected to Terminal 4 via moving walkway.

Current Escape lounge locations are: Hartford, Connecticut; Minneapolis St. Paul; Phoenix (Terminal 3 and 4); Reno; Cincinnati; Oakland; Sacramento (Terminal A and B); Greenville-Spartanburg; West Palm Beach; Providence.
You can access these lounges with an American Express Platinum and Centurion card, and there’s premium a Delta co-brand benefit as well. You can also pay-in $45 (or $40 in advance online).
Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport also has a United Club (terminal 1), Delta Sky Club (terminal 2), and Priority Pass cardholders (who did not get their card from American Express) receive a $28 credit at Kafe Kalik in terminal 4.
This is a very welcomed addition.
Whenever I fly American and have to connect, I usually fly out of Miami due to no lounge access in Fort Lauderdale, unless it is a very early morning flight where lounge time is of little value. Now, I can use Fort Lauderdale to my connection point, which is much closer and easier to access.
PBI recently got a similar lounge and its rather nice. MIA Centurian is ALWAYS PACKED and has gone way downhill. AA Flagship @ MIA is the best lounge in the entire state.
Any projection on opening date?
I think that’ll be excellent for business and for America Express to promote new credit cards.
The two biggest problems with FLL that keep me away are lack of lounges and terrible traffic to/from the airport on I-95. This solves half that equation.
Now time for Brightline to break ground on the FLL station. Would mean someone in downtown Miami like myself can get to FLL in 25 minutes on the nation’s highest quality train rather than sit in traffic for 60-90 mins. Lounge at Brightline station, then lounge at FLL keeps me away from those south Florida Spirit airlines crazies
Thank goodness Sacramento had one and it finally Re-opened as there was nothing but a coffee shop thru Covid there. The one in Providence is nice also and needed.
It is sorely needed. Particularly in that terminal with the low ceilings and the terminal-wide SHOUTING announcements from speakers mere inches above your head at full volume. FLL is just a terrible airport in so many ways so this will be a very nice addition. But a “Studio”? This will end up as crowded as the Centurion Lounge in MIA in no time.

Walked by the location yesterday. It’s in the E/F connector hallway. Front is boarded up and says Arriving Soon.
As of 10/20/22 still well under construction.
The lounge is going to open very soon. I was at FLL this morning and you could see in (finally) – it looks beautiful. They were training staff. Looking forward to this lounge!
