France Covers Israeli Defense Exhibits With Black Walls At Paris Air Show—Israeli Firm Brilliantly Trolls Them In Response

The French government put up black partition walls around displays by Israeli defense industry companies at the Paris Air Show as a performative statement in support of Hamas.

  • The French would say it’s objecting to Israel’s actions in Gaza, but of course those are because of Hamas.
  • And there’s an obligation, I think, so say what actions Israel should take instead against terrorists on the border who shoot rockets into the country and overrun the border, killing and taking hostages. What steps are acceptable, sufficient, and likely to work that wouldn’t be objectionable?

Here, of course, the action by the French government is silly because it is not as though Israeli defense companies are selling to the IDF at.. the Paris Air Show. If anything, signing deals with these companies increases the demand for their arms, and makes them (1) more expensive and (2) more scarce. That would make it harder, not easier, for the IDF to secure as many. Blocking sales ultimately harms the defense companies, but benefits Israel’s military. Go figure.

And here’s a troll by one of those companies.

It’s notable of course that the Israeli companies being walled off are competitors to French companies for arms sales. France’s Dassault Aviation, for instance, is promoting the Rafale fighter along with various strike munitions at the show. So maybe it’s not just a fear that if the French bought these Israeli weapons they’d drop them.

  1. Won’t anyone think of the real victims here, like Caitlyn Jenner, who is currently stuck in Israel for the foreseeable future as all flights to/from TLV are cancelled?! …it’s a shanda!

  2. Macron’s childish attempt at censorship needs to be vigorously objected to by the United States, wow, what a loser.

  3. @ Gary — Good for France. Killing 40x more people in response to a terror attack and leaving everyone else homeless is a disgrace.

  4. Gary, I love you man, but please stop being so reflexive. Do you claim that critics of Putin’s leveling of Grosny are all jihadists? Assad & Aleppo…

  5. @Gene – the ratio of civilians to combatants killed is far below average for modern warfare, even if you accept the faked numbers from Hamas’s ministry of health.

  6. It’s been a while, so I’ll do this one again: Why’s everyone so worked up about ‘hummus’ these days? It’s delicious! Goes well with pita bread. Sheesh!

  7. To all the commenters here:

Certain western governments and almost all MSM have been shameless in their attempts to redefine words such as Genocide and Apartheid to suit their anti Israel agenda. Look into the facts that the media hides and ask yourself if what the MSM says make any sense.

You will see how anti Israel sentiment (known as anti-Semitism) has turned people into such shameless fools who will invert anything in the quest to get at the Jew.

They will fail as the Jew will always survive and will eventually thrive.

  8. Gary, if you read further, the Israeli exhibit had weapons (or, models/photos of weapons) that were in violation of the type of weapons allowed in the exhibit, under the terms of agreement for weapons allowed. I believe the weapons were of a certain design that made them too powerful to be at that particular Defense Exhibit.

  9. @Gary: What are you defining as “modern warfare” ? If you’re including World War II, Korea, Vietnam, sure. If you’re including actions by the Syrian government, ok.

But the number of civilian deaths perpetrated by Israel in the Gaza strip has no comparison to any campaign in the past 40 years by any country with a military at a level anywhere near that of Israel’s.

Israel is engaged in collective punishment. It would be like if your neighbor murdered someone the next town over so they came over and killed everyone in your neighborhood.

And of course, nothing that happened on October 7 can justify the decades of terrorism conducted and sanctioned by Israel before that.

  10. @Raehl

That’s simply a lie. The Battle of Mosul estimated ratio was 9 civilians to every civilian killed. In Gaza, where Hamas has 15 years to build tunnels underneath the whole Gaza, use hospitals and schools with nary a protest from Human “rights” organizations and the UN, where Egypt doesn’t let the civilians escape a war zone, even if you include Hamas obviously fake numbers (natural deaths, duplicates, made up IDs, etc) the ratio is less than 1:1. That is unheard of precision. Don’t swallow the MSM line without using critical thinking.

  11. @Common Sense — I’ll assume you meant ‘Jewish people’ and not ‘the Jew’ as you said above. Kinda gives away the game if you say it like that.

On a serious note, while no one wants to see innocent civilians harmed, it’s clear that the plight of the free peoples of Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan are the noble sides of their respective past, present, and future conflicts with Iran and its proxies, Russia and its proxies, and the CCP.

When we look back on this period, many while consider WW3 as having already begun (or the Cold War having never ended). So, the Allies should not allow ‘perfect’ to be the enemy of ‘good.’ Putin, Xi, Kim, and the Ayatollah are weak. Time to remind them each of what happened to their friend Gaddafi.

  12. @ Gary — I will give you that I am relying upon the “fake” Hamas numbers, but I’m pretty sure the flattening of the entire country isn’t false. All of these Israeli wars of 2023+ are desgned to keep Netanyahu in power. He should recieve life in prison or worse, rigth next to his Orange friend.

  13. @Christopher J Raehl Nonsense. From the Watson Institute of Brown University……

The post-9/11 wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, the most violent conflicts in which the U.S. government has engaged in the name of counterterrorism since September 11, 2001, have taken a tremendous human toll. Indirect deaths are estimated to be 3.6-3.8 million, bringing the total death toll, including direct and indirect deaths, to 4.5-4.7 million and counting. Precise mortality figures remain unknown.

At least 408,749 civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen died as a direct result of the post-9/11 wars. U.S. drone strikes and other military operations in Somalia, Libya, and elsewhere have also caused civilian deaths.

As of May 2023, more than 7.6 million children under five in post-9/11 war zones suffered from acute malnutrition.

Do you ever complain about the civilian deaths caused by the US, or is it just Jews defending themselves that you have a problem with?

  14. @Gene What would you do if Hamas was embedded in 90% of the infrastructure and booby trapped 70% of homes?

  15. If anyone needs some levity, I’m pleased to offer my “who’s Akbar” bit.

    In Jerry’s voice: “what’s the deal… with all the shouting… ‘a la who’s-Akbar?!’, amirite? …like, fellas, ya don’t need blow-up over it.” (I’ll be here all week…)

And, yes, I think it’s totally fine to mock jihadis for being the terrorists. Bring it.

  16. Bravo Gary –
What would the world be like today without all the amazing contributions of the Jews over the years? For thousands of years, the world has tried to make them extinct, thank God they have failed.

The number of Jews in the world, if you did not know they are a tiny fraction of the world population and compared to the news coverage, you would think they had the largest population in the world.

Point of view of a none Jew

  17. @1990: latest is that Bruce/Caitlyn went by land to Amman, and then will go back to LA… Amman Airport is now open, so far only RJ flights are operating…

  18. @Gene, what would the numbers be if Hamas stopped putting women and children in front of the military installations they know Israel will attack? Hamas was counting on the human sacrifices they, and they alone, are responsible for to pressure Israel to stop the war, but it has not and will not work. If they cared about the Gazans, they would have surrendered long ago. Hamas is a death cult.

  19. @kimmiea – there were reportedly discussion but not an agreement on banning offensive weapons, and the distinction here between offensive and non-offensive is pretty arbitrary considering much of what’s on display

  20. Gary you are an illiterate. History didn’t start on October 7. Go get educated before trying to use this propaganda in a post. Seriously – read and learn history before posting this garbage. Unless you’re a Zionist of course.

  21. Netanyahu was also convicted along with his wife of crimes. He & orange turd need to be in jail not running countries.
He & Israeli leaders are bound & determined to get the US boots on the ground.
    This has to stop NOW!
Thank you France for standing up for a bully!

  22. Wait, Tucker Qatarson said that tat Mr. Netanyahu wants American boots in the ground. It must be true! After all Tucker Qatarson never lies for his Qatari backers. I mean that grocery in Russia has shopping wagons with coins to activate them. I mean, wow.

  23. I see the usual antisemitism. Simple question: What should Israel’s response to 10/7 have been? All I ever see is general blame for the level of devastation, not any sane approaches for doing better. If there was better why has no country pointed it out? There are plenty of countries hostile to Israel and with reasonably competent armed forces, why do they stay silent?

Biden didn’t like what was happening, he certainly had access to competent military advice, why did he remain silent?? Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that Israel had already rejected our approach as causing too many civilian deaths.

The reality is when you have leaders that don’t care about the people you tend to get lots of civilian deaths. And that’s before you consider the biggest weapon Hamas has: Parading the dead bodies before the world’s cameras.

  24. Oh, cool. This is the travel blog where we resolve geopolitical conflict in the comments.

  25. @Dennis J Holland – France literally helps make arms cheaper and more available to the IDF with this, so yeah, way to stand up to Israel

  26. In response to the comments above, Bruce Jenner and his friends learned their lesson when Hashem shut down their parade. Don’t they get it, that with Israel needing all the help it needs from above, that openly mocking the Torah is not what’s needed right now?

Getting back on topic, it’s nice to have a blogger that’s on our side.
