Free AAdvantage Gold Status After One Roundtrip

AAdvantage Geek points to an offer to sign up for American’s small business loyalty program, BusinessExtrAA.

Promo code EARN10 gets you 2000 BusinessExtrAA points when registering your business with a New York or Illinois address and completing one roundtrip (with your BusinessExtrAA number included in the reservation) by January 31, 2012.

BusinessExtrAA gives you small business program points in addition to miles, and anyone can input your BusinessExtrAA number into their reservation — they get the miles, you get the small business program points.

And then once you’re signed up for the program, log in and register for promotion OCT11BONUS123 which I received by email yesterday — 200 points for registering, then 300 points for updating your contact information (also 500 more points for completing a roundtrip by November 15).

Signing up for the program with a New York or Illinois address, then, and registering for the second promotion and updating your contact information (I wouldn’t then update it with an address in another state until your points post!), and taking one roundtrip on American should generate 2500 points.

The Business ExtrAA reward chart shows Gold status in the American AAdvantage program for 2400 BusinessExtrAA points.

Alternatively, 2400 points is enough for 8 orders of 2 lounge passes or for a coach roundtrip award ticket between the US and Caribbean.

As with all such things, your mileage may vary, but passed along in case it’s useful.

  1. I signed up but feel bad…I do have a small LLC but it’s not in IL or NY (it is an e-commerce thing, however, so I guess that’s not a specific location. Still though. Could i have regular AA account frozen for this?

  2. I have a small business in NY and signed up .Thanks!

What happens when my business reaches gold status? does this mean that anyone who flies using our business account has all the benefits of gold status?

  3. It’s not the business that reaches gold status, you earn points that you can redeem for anyone you want to have their personal account upgraded to Gold.

  4. Gary, for the $250 requirement on the flight you need to take, is that on the base fare or the total ticket price?

    Thanks!
