You may have lounge access if you’re flying international business or first class, have high enough elite status, or a Priority Pass card that gets you into certain lounges.
However connecting through Singapore it’s even easier than that. Everyone traveling Singapore Airlines or Air New Zealand and making a connection can get free lounge access in the Singapore airport.
That’s because if you have a roundtrip (not a one way, and you must return to country of origin) booked through Singapore on either of those airlines you’re eligible for your choice:
- SGD$20 shopping voucher valid inside the airport
- Or to be used for access to the Ambassador Lounge in either terminal 2 or 3 for up to 2 hours (additional time is charged at $12 per hour)
This promotion currently runs through the end of September, but it’s been extended many times and has been offered more than it hasn’t in recent times.
The voucher is available at iShopChangi Collection Centers in the airport which are airside in terminals 2 and 3. Your boarding pass, reservation confirmation, and passport will get you the voucher however you can only get it in one direction of your roundtrip (i.e. once per roundtrip).
If you fancy a shower, the Ambassador lounges give you that opportunity, otherwise spend the voucher on a meal because food options in the airport will be better than in the lounge.

Been a transit passenger many times thru Singapore airport- as recently as three weeks ago- flying premium economy on Singapore. I have yet to redeem any voucher. Wong ticket number was always the reason. A joke.
Same here. Every time they found different reasons to reject me for the voucher. Don’t expect too much.
Staff will say management did not inform them, and management will say staff are incompetent! That’s Asia for you, not just Singapore.
Agreed with the above post – we couldn’t even use if for meals as the $20 barely covered an item on the menu. On top of that, it was a pain to get the restaurant/s to accept these vouchers.
At the end of the day, not worth the hassle to “claim” said $20 and then try to redeem them anywhere at the airport
